November 6, 2015 evening

Good evening! Happy Friday. Going home time. But please be safe as those roads are slick in places from that heavy band of rain that just came through a few minutes ago. It is currently 64 degrees, after falling from day’s high of 72, which is twenty degrees above the normal temperature for today. Not too bad at all. Showers are expected on and off all evening, some could be heavy.  I guess we can take some rain exchange for the warm weather this evening.

The warm weather won’t last for long though. Tonight will be relatively warm at 50 degrees but tomorrow will max out at 55 degrees and by late Saturday evening we will be down to 38 degrees. By daybreak on Sunday morning we will be down to 26 degrees and Sunday will max out at 50 degrees.

It’s off to the Green Mountain State this weekend for some hiking and camping. Typical November weather for the weekend. I’m excited about checking the out White Rocks Cliff and Ice Field Rocks. Camping at the beautiful Old Job area. I haven’t been up there in two years and never overnight. Tonight after dinner, assuming the rain lets up I will pack. For a single overnight shouldn’t be too bad.

Traffic is a bit sluggish leaving the city due to the wet conditions but it’s better to be safe than a sorry. It’s rush hour on a Friday but if you drive safely you’ll make it home.

But other than that it’s been a long week and I’m tired. Hopefully we will get through traffic quickly and the bus will get me home. Still creeping along the end of 787 but it can’t be long…

November 6, 2015 morning

All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration with temperatures pushing 64 degrees and expected to reach 71 by afternoon. Rain showers for the evening commute, so take it easy on the way home. The weekend won’t arrive for you if you don’t make it home alive.

Tonight’s sunset is at 4:42 PM for a total of 10 hours and six minutes of daylight. That means 13 hours and 53 minutes of darkness. Seasonable weather for the weekend with a high around 53 and cloudy on Saturday and 50 degrees and sunny on Sunday. It’s called November. At least at this point we are snow free everywhere.

Tomorrow it’s off to White Rocks in the Green Mountain National Forest. I drove to through this area, just north of Manchester VT two years ago but never overnighted there. I also spent little time hiking there as it was pouring rain that morning. But a lot of nice little campsites and very scenic area.

God only knows about the weather for next week and heading up to the North Country. Right now it looks too wet to be worthwhile to take the trip but forecasts change. I’m not going to request the time off until I have more certainty on the weather.
