Good morning! Today is Veterans Day 🇺🇸! Three weeks to Cyber Monday 🛍๏ธ. Cloudy and 35 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Calm wind. We expect rain late today but watch out for tomorrow when temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 7 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ Should make for an interesting commute 🚍 especially now that I have to be there earlier for work on. But maybe the bus will be close to on time, it often is at the park and ride early, but I might catch the local if it’s really wet and nasty. โ„ Snow though probably won’t be so bad walk. 🚶

Veterans Day will have a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 7am, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy 🌧, with a high of 40 degrees at 1pm. 10 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 4th. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 41 degrees. The record high of 70 was set in 2002. 3.0 inches of snow fell back in 1906.โ„

I got a bunch to do today. 👍 First off I need to take out the trash to the outside can. It’s been three weeks. With recycling โ™ป and composting I don’t need to do it often but sometimes the food bags in the trash start to get nasty. Eventually I’ll take it to the transfer station or something like that. 🔥 I just hate wasting garbage bags although I can always dump one into another. I also need to return those beer cans 🍻💰(I wish it’s easier than the transfer station). Need to clean the kitchen 🍙and maybe spray a few places in the bathroom 🚽 for mildew. With the warmer temperatures it’s very nice and comfortable in my bedroom, I actually turned the heat back down yesterday.

Definitely not all that great for outside activities but that’s fine. I am going to ride the exercise bike 🚲 for a while and work on some maps later on. 🌐 I didn’t go to the store yesterday 🏬 so I need to do that some point today. I might head down to the library later. 📚 Depends on how I feel. With my phone 📱 I find I don’t really have as much desire to use the internet at the library.

At least I’m feeling a lot better. Not perfect, still a bit congested at time 😷 and a little sore but better than in a while. I’m starting to think that I may have Lyme disease with the headaches and aches but I’m going to wait until I am fully recovered from my cold. 🎯 Mom certainly thinks it’s worthwhile for me to get tested for Lyme, with my symptoms of headaches, sore neck and stiffness at times but it’s been so long since I last been to my doctor. I should do regular yearly check ups. They’re free and I’d hate to die 🎲 somewhere in the wilderness with a heart attack. โ™ฅ

The sun will set at 4:37 pm with dusk around 5:07 pm, which is one minute and 3 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 37 degrees. There will be a north breeze at 6 mph. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 53 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 16 seconds over today.

Tonight will have a chance of rain and sleet before 2am, then rain likely between 2am and 3am, then rain and sleet after 3am. 🌧 Low of 33 degrees at 6am. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around November 13th. North wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected. In 2018, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 29 degrees. The record low of 15 occurred back in 1976.

All I can say is that it’s going to be nasty tomorrow. โ›„ But I’m sure the bus will get me to work 🚍 and all I have to do is be at the stop a few minutes early. 🚏I do hate a lot of things about living in the city but public transportation isn’t one of them.

Cool this weekend with temperatures running 12 degrees below normal but otherwise sunny. ๐Ÿ˜€ Saturday, sunny, with a high near 33. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Typical average high for the weekend is 48 degrees.

The following weekend might be quite warm from the long range. โ˜€ But God only knows. This weekend is the Green Energy Fair 🌲โšก so I’ll be in town. Sunday might be nice for skiing 🎿 in an area without hunting if they’re still is snow. โ›„

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Cyber Monday 🛍๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:22 pm with dusk at 4:54 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 41 and 26 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 41 degrees. We hit a record high of 66 back in 1998.

November 9, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Another Saturday while I feel like shit. 😷 At least it’s a three day weekend. Three weeks to Small Business Saturday 🛍๏ธ. Mostly sunny and 32 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a south-southeast breeze at 5 mph. 🍃.

I was going to head out to Madison County to camp โ›บ but I’m increasingly worried about running into Lake Effect snow โ„ on Monday so decided to stay home. Still a bit congested and achy from my cold and I had a terrible migraine yesterday so I don’t spend a day or two out there and only get sicker. 😰 I will go to the doctor if this progresses well into next week but im not going to pay $25 after sitting for an hour to be told to rest up more.

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 39 degrees at 3pm. 12 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 6th. South wind 5 to 9 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 42 degrees. The record high of 71 was set in 1975. 10.0 inches of snow fell back in 1900.โ„

The sun will set at 4:39 pm with dusk around 5:09 pm, which is one minute and 7 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for partly clear skies 🌄 and temperatures around 37 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 10 hours of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 23 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy 🌤, with a low of 26 degrees at 6am. Seven degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 3rd. South wind around 8 mph. In 2018, we had light rain in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 35 degrees. The record low of 16 occurred back in 1965.

Nice day today but tomorrow will be cloudy โ˜ and lake effect could make US 20 dicy. And it’s so cold up north in the Adirondacks. I’d rather save my money 💵 for a nicer weekend. I’m not convinced that the snow is here for the season even if we do get more snow on Tuesday. โ›„ If it’s snow free then Thanksgiving weekend on Black Friday I would really like to get up to Stoney Pond in Nelson. Or possibly the Adirondack – hike one day, hunt one, camp two or three nights.

Next weekend though I’ll be staying in town 🏡 as I’m to be tabling for Save the Pine Bush 🌲 at the Green and Renewable Fair that they having this year at Sage College near the hospital. I might just be able to take the bus up there. 🚍 Make it really easy for sure. Looks like a nice weekend though but cold โ„ as will most of the coming week.

I was going to return beer cans yesterday 🍻 from vacation but that didn’t happen as I had the headache after work. I have a ton of them to return which is good as I need more space in my recycling โ™ป trash can. Once I return them I’ll have room to avoid a trip to the transfer station for a while.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Small Business Saturday 🛍๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:23 pm with dusk at 4:54 pm. On that day in 2018, we had mostly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 45 and 18 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 42 degrees. We hit a record high of 67 back in 1933.

Winding Creek

November 7, 2019 Night

Good evening! Cold and damp with snow flurries and 32 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ„ There is a northwest breeze at 8 mph. 🍃. Definitely a cold and damp evening, the heat is on in my apartment and I’m wearing my comfortable blaze orange hoodie I wear regularly in the wilderness. ๏ธ

It was a busy and crazy day 😜 at work. I think I’m doing a good job and I have a good team but sometimes it gets crazy. I did check out the Tylenol they had had in the kitchen as I had another headache by afternoon. 💊 Everybody was calling me and keeping me busy, earning my money. Stayed up later last night then usual so I was tired 😴 by afternoon.

Despite the rain, โ˜” I walked down to the Union Station 🚉 to catch the bus. I’ve been lately catching the bus down there as it’s easy with my new office 🏢 to walk down Columbia Street and getting the bus before the expressway. But I tell you – there are too many sidewalk barricades on Columbia Street. 🚧 It makes it difficult for a pedestrian to navigate it. Also they really need crosswalks at Chapel Street and Columbia Street. It’s unsafe without crosswalks and no stop signs on Columbia. โ›” No fun for the pedestrian 🚶 in the rain walking down to the bus stop. 🚏

Got home, laid back in bed 💤 and then cooked up a big pan of pasta and meatballs. 🍲 I probably should have had a smaller meal as I had enough earlier in the day and I should have ridden the exercise bike 🚲 but I spent some much needed time cleaning in the kitchen and then the neighbor came home so I didn’t want to make a lot of noise riding the bike. At least dessert 🍰 was healthy – just frozen blueberries and bananas 🍌 to fill my increasingly bad sweet tooth.

Ended up watching a video on Beaver Trapping and some of Aging Wheels videos and now AVE. I accidentally downloaded most Aging Wheel channel so I might have a lot more to watch. 📹 I should have ridden the bike but at least I did walk a mile and a half today between walking to the express bus 🚍 and the station. So it’s not like I was a total couch potato.

Tonight will have a chance of snow, mainly before 10pm. I think that’s mostly done. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy 🌨, with a low of 25 degrees at 5am. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 5th. Barely expected to rise by morning. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 31 degrees. The record low of 18 occurred back in 1971.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous Moon 🌔 with 89% illuminated. The moon will set at 2:26 am. The Beaver Moon 🌕 is on Monday night with partly cloudy skies. The sun will rise at 6:36 am with the first light at 6:07 am, which is one minute and 15 seconds later than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 13 hours and 56 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 25 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 34 degrees at 1pm. 17 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 20th. Northwest wind 9 to 17 mph. Going to be bitterly cold for November – not much snow melt in the mountains although the bright 🔆 sun will help. With the sun tomorrow and the heat on in my apartment I don’t expect it will get too cold inside. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 49 degrees. The record high of 75 was set in 1975. 1.7 inches of snow fell back in 1894.โ„

After I scheduled my post on water waste 💦 I noticed that my shower 🚿 was dripping this evening. I tapped the handle and it finally stopped. Bugged me as hell. If it starts again I’ll text the landlord to have the plumber come over. Also while he’s here I’ll have him fix the leaky sink drain and the sink faucet that leaks when it’s on. May that will slow all rusting and mold problems in the kitchen but I doubt – I think their must be a pipe that’s been leaking elsewhere for years. I hate calling the landlord over because I’ve done a lot of wear and tear on his building although I’m sure he already knows. I’m not a model tenant, I’m a dirty hick who tracks in a shit ton of mud. 💩 My idea of cleaning is paper plates and a campfire. He’s just happy I always pay my rent on time 💸 and I don’t make much noise. 🔇

Watching the snow falls around, โ„ and based on the reports and the weather I’ll decide on where I’m going this weekend. Tomorrow I’m going to John Wolcott house after work and after that I might run to the store or more likely I’ll just stop 🍖and get groceries to take to camp. โ›บ

In four weeks on December 5 the sun will be setting at 4:22 pm,🌄 which is 19 minutes and 14 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had cloudy, mild, rain showers and temperatures between 53 and 39 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 40 and 25 degrees. The record high of 65 degrees was set back in 2001.

Looking ahead, Thanksgiving 🦃 is in 3 weeks, Repeal of Prohibition Day 🍺 is in 4 weeks, Boxing Day 🥊 is in 7 weeks and National Cheese Lovers Day 🧀 is in 11 weeks. I do love cheese. I really should have visited that Cheese Store when I was in Cuba, NY. If I do go out to Madison County this weekend, I really should stop at For the Love of Bacon. 🐽 Get some good bacon which goes well with cheese.

Autumn continues...

October 30, 2019 8 AM Update

Good morning! What day is it? Hump Day, of course. Next Wednesday is Day After Election Day ๐Ÿ›€. Overcast and generally cloudy and 58 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. โ˜ Calm wind. The dew point is 52 degrees. Mild day, I left my windows open a bit before leaving for work. Nice walk ๐Ÿšถ down to the Park and Ride.

I was in bed by 8:30 last night ๐Ÿ˜ด, listeningย  to a podcast for a while. ๐Ÿ‘‚ Woke up fairly early but it was dark with the late sunrise ๐ŸŒ… and the cloudy skies. โ˜ Kind of a depressing day but once I’m in my windowless office at work I’ll never know. And I have thermostat right above my desk, so I can make things as comfortable as possible.

Today will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 65 degrees at 3pm. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 4th. Maximum dew point of 54 at 1pm. Light southeast wind. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 50 degrees. The record high of 80 was set in 1946. 0.1 inches of snow fell back in 1925.โ„

Tonight I’m heading over to John Wolcott house ๐Ÿ“‚ for a while. Later in the week – maybe tomorrow I need to return my library books I got out for vacation ๐Ÿ“š. Technically they are due on Friday so I could drop them off then after work.

The sun will set at 5:51 pm with dusk around 6:20 pm, which is one minute and 21 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies โ˜ and temperatures around 63 degrees. The dew point will be 54 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 10 hours and 24 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 35 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be scattered showers, mainly after 11pm. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 57 degrees at 10pm. 22 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 2nd. Maximum dew point of 56 at 4am. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2018, we had clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 28 degrees. The record low of 18 occurred back in 1988.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, sunny, with a high near 51. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Typical average high for the weekend is 53 degrees. Cool but that’s what is expected for the first weekend of November.

I am leaning towards heading up to the White Rocks area of the Green Mountains ๐Ÿ—ป this weekend and if it’s decent next week, head out to Stoney Pond in Nelson Madison County. This weekend would just be hiking and camping. Next weekend I might do some hunting ๐Ÿ”ซ and fishing ๐ŸŽฃ. Lots of that in Madison County. But this weekend i also want to go back to White Rocks and do that hike again and camp up there. Beautiful country, but it’s a bit of a drive north.

I have to figure out how I’m going to invest the remaining money after my 401(k) now that I’m not able to do deferred comp with my new job. ๐Ÿ’ฐ I think I’ll stay away from getting too much into index funds, preferring FDIC-insured CDs for now. At some points the good times in the market will have to run out. Not sure when that’s going to be, but I’d rather wait and somewhat time the market, even though i know timing the market is a terrible strategy, but it’s hard to see things going up all that much now for a while. Planned now, a buck now can be a few bucks later to buy land, a tractor, livestock or more guns.

As previously noted, next Wednesday is Day After Election Day ๐Ÿ›€ when the sun will be setting at 4:42 pm with dusk at 5:12 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2018, we had drizzle showers, cloudy and temperatures between 54 and 44 degrees. I remember that day well driving back on the Thruway with a co worker ๐Ÿš˜. Another cycle done. Typically, the high temperature is 52 degrees. We hit a record high of 73 back in 2015.

Fog on the Road

October 28, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Average High is 55 ๐Ÿ‚! Going to be warmer than that today. Very mild late October day. Two weeks to Veterans Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ. Mostly cloudy and 50 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a west breeze at 9 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 5 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Stayed overnight at my parents couch because the headlight bulb stopped working on my truck. ๐Ÿ’ก If it wasn’t pouring rain and getting dark, I would bought another bulb and stuck it in the truck, but so be it. The whole thing is frustrating, as I replaced both bulbs 15 months ago, and one failed again over the summer, and then the other one. Cheap bulbs I guess.

It was the opposite side from the on I replaced last summer. I tested that bulb that I pulled last summer that wasn’t working but it seemed okay but then it failed. It’s not the socket, or wiring, it’s completely open circuit with the bulb. I’m going to have to get a better quality bulb from the General I think. Those cheap Walmart bulbs work for a year before randomly failing. Ducks ๐Ÿฆ that I have to pull the air box again. Maybe I should also replace the air filter again but it’s not ths dirty.

It’s an early start, a new Monday and a new start for me. ๐Ÿ’ผ I decided on a blazer and jeans for my first day at the new job. Change is good I guess. I’ll work hard to make the most of the new opportunity. Still trying to work out which bus I need to take to get there on time but not too early. ๐Ÿš The earlier locals are slower because of the students taking the bus to school ๐Ÿšธ.

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 61 degrees at 2pm. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 14th. I’ll take that. Maximum dew point of 49 at 1pm. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 51 degrees. The record high of 78 was set in 1971. 2.0 inches of snow fell back in 1952.โ„

The sun will set at 5:54 pm with dusk around 6:23 pm, which is one minute and 24 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 59 degrees. The dew point will be 49 degrees. There will be a southeast breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 30 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 38 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 47 degrees at 6am. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 27th. Southeast wind around 7 mph. In 2018, we had light rain in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 42 degrees. The record low of 19 occurred back in 1969.

In 1956, Elvis Presley receives a polio vaccination on national TV. ๐Ÿ’‰This single event is credited with raising immunization levels in the United States from 0.6% to over 80% in just six months. A little shot can prevent much sickness later on.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 47. Typical average high for the weekend is 53 degrees.

I think the top priority is getting the headlight to work again. ๐Ÿ’ก Then I might canvas again this weekend or maybe head right out to camp. ๐Ÿ•Depends on the weather. Two weekends out is a three day weekend with Veterans Day. Going to be a nice weekend it seems, but might be fairly cold up north, especially if it’s windy. Might be decent hunting weather though.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Veterans Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:37 pm with dusk at 5:07 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2018, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 41 and 26 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 50 degrees. We hit a record high of 70 back in 2002.

 Farm Along US 220

October 27, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Sunday. โ›ชNext Sunday is Regular Time ๐Ÿ›ฅ๏ธ. That means another perfectly good hour to waste. Does that mean I get burn it? ๐Ÿ”ฅ Maybe the weather will be nice enough for me to go camping. โ›บ Heavy rain and 48 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” Breezy, ๏ธ16 mph breeze from the southeast ๐ŸŒฌ with gusts up to 29 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 4 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Feeling better today for the most part. โ˜บ Maybe not perfect but not aching or as sore as yesterday. A bit of congestion but hardly sick as I was only a few days ago. Slept in a bit today and will try to get to bed by 9 pm tonight. ๐Ÿ•˜ Going to be wet so if my neighbor is or I’ll probably ride the exercise bike ๐Ÿšฒ for a while to get some exercise in. I do need to get some YouTube videos to watch, maybe when I’m at my parents house later for Sunday dinner. ๐Ÿ“น

Today will rain. ๐ŸŒง Going to pick up midday so be aware then stop later on. ๐Ÿ’ฆ High of 52 degrees at 2pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 5th. Maximum dew point of 50 at 3pm. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Southeast wind 11 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 43 degrees. The record high of 79 was set in 1963. 1.7 inches of snow fell back in 2016.โ„ I don’t remember that storm, we just had rain when I was in the old North Syracuse, a town most famous for the Plank Road that is just asphalt these days and mostly bypassed by Interstate 81.

Continuing to go through my pictures from Dolly Sods ๐Ÿ“ท and have been wore on organizing some of the files ๐Ÿ“‚ on my computer ๐Ÿ’ป. I finally got around this morning to fixing the missing screw on the old hard drive and reformatting it so I can move some of my videos and other less speed critical stuff โณ like videos I’m just playing back or music files. I mean I got have to mean I have to have places to put my Dick Curless records ๐ŸŽธ and videos of folks combining farm fields. ๐Ÿšœ

Heading out to the folks house ๐Ÿก for Sunday dinner ๐Ÿฒ. Apparently they have the same cold that I have. Hopefully they are feeling better. I wonder if they got it from me or I got it from them. Hard to say, it’s not like I spent much time in their house while I was there housing their dog ๐Ÿถ.

I still haven’t had a chance to Early Vote โŽ but I want to think a bit more about a few of the candidates ๐Ÿ’ญ and will vote after dinner on Monday. I bet that will be a relatively quiet time at the polling place. Just have to be on line in the polling place by 8 pm but I’ll try to be there closer to seven. I don’t think poll workers like to have to work late.

The sun will set at 5:55 pm with dusk around 6:24 pm, which is one minute and 25 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for rain to be tapering off ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 52 degrees. The dew point will be 50 degrees. There will be a southeast breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 32 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 39 seconds over yesterday.

Yesterday was quite a nice. ๐Ÿ—ป I wish th sun โ˜€ could have stayed out a little longer while I was at the tower but there was still a decent amount of color up there. It was not a mistake to head home after hiking – it would have been a pretty wet morning for taking down camp โ›บ and I would have to unpack this morning. Plus I had no idea how I would have felt by morning.

Tonight will be scattered showers, mainly before 9pm. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 48 degrees at 4am. 12 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 25th. Northwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 41 degrees. The record low of 18 occurred back in 1974.

I got to think about getting Big Red inspected now that’s its November. ๐Ÿ” My tires will pass inspection this year but probably not next year. โšซ Not sure if need an oil change I should check Big Red’s DIC. I did add a half quart of oil which is not unreasonable consumption over two thousand miles. Been doing a lot of travel.

Governor Ronald Reagan in 1964 delivers a speech on behalf of the Republican candidate for president, Barry Goldwater. ๐Ÿ’ฌ The speech launches his political career and comes to be known as “A Time for Choosing”.๐Ÿฏ Politics is such silly business but it pays good and beats shoveling shit for little money. ๐Ÿ’ฐ Plus now I get to go home now from my new windowless office at five each day now.

As previously noted, next Sunday is Daylight Savings Time Ends ๐Ÿ›ฅ๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:46 pm with dusk at 5:15 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2018, we had rain and temperatures between 57 and 41 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 53 degrees. We hit a record high of 75 back in 1990.

 East

October 25, 2019 Night

Good evening! Rain showers and 49 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” Calm wind. 0.03 inches of rain is expected before it ends tomorrow around 1 am. Not a big storm just enough to wet the pavement.

I am feeling slightly better. ๐Ÿ˜’ Not as achy and I’ve pretty much done well hiding how sick I’ve felt all day. Final day on one chapter in life, another one next week. New adventures are always fun ๐ŸŽข and it’s a great chance to advance my future. Sometimes though this week I have the chills. And the amount I sweat ๐Ÿ˜ฐ at times even in my bedroom with the heat off makes me sure I have a fever. But this week I couldn’t afford to just hide under my covers and be sick all week. I packed lunch but with my sick stomach and the fact that I left my fork ๐Ÿด home I didn’t eat it until I got home.

Tonight I went to the presentation ๐ŸŽฅ of Extinction Rebellion at the Bethlehem Public Library. ๐Ÿ“š I had no idea what the group was about but I knew it involved climate change ๐ŸŒŽ and I thought it would be interesting on Friday evening. Should I have stayed home and rested? Surely. But I learned a lot about this civil disobedience group๐Ÿ‘ฎ and was reminse once again how dire the crisis is and how content we all are plug our ears. ๐Ÿ™‰ Dramatic action is needed but families are busy ๐Ÿ‘ช and they don’t want to give up their television ๐Ÿ“บ and cars ๐Ÿš™. But maybe protests will get people talking. I do hate it when they delay my commute home and I’m hungry through.

Tonight will be sprinkles likely before midnight, then a chance of light rain between midnight and 2am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 44 degrees at 4am. Seven degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around October 4th. Light northwest wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2018, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 27 degrees. The record low of 20 occurred back in 1952.

Tonight will have a Waning Crescent Moon ๐ŸŒ˜ with 1% illuminated. The moon will rise at 5:10 am. The New Moon will be tomorrow with a chance of showers.
