As soon as I got to camp โบ I was promptly greeted by the swarms of black flies ๐ but I’m not at all surprised as it’s the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend ๐บ๐ธ and it’s been a wet spring. ๐ธ That said I’m glad I’m up at camp and by eight o’clock the black flies were done.
It was a nice drive out here ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ป bar of course the traffic jam on the Thruway between Albany and Schenectady. Once I got to Interstate 88 and past the one lane bridge ๐ construction ๐ง it was a nice drive. Got off at NY 145 Exit which I’ve never done before but it bypasses the hick towns of Schoharie, Cobelskill and Middleburgh. ๐ฎ 55 mph all the way to Fultonham. I was at Duck ๐ฆ Pond before 6:30. I get so much of an earlier start from my new office with its acres of parking ๐ ฟ.
I had a big fire ๐ฅ last night with the burn ban over, lots of wrappers to burn and a good wood supply. ๐ชต Plus I’m really out in the middle of nowhere and nobody cares. ๐ณ And it was such a great moon lit night. ๐ I stayed up until midnight, reading ๐ a book about how the Amish live without electricity. ๐ง๐พ Laid back in the hammock looked up at the stars โจ and then sat by the fire around midnight when it started to get a bit cool.
