Getting away this weekend for some rest and relaxation in the wilderness. ๐Ÿ•๏ธ Hoping for a mostly rain-free weekend, but I'll take whatever the weatherman gives. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ And then it's just cruising into Memorial Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒWeekend and kicking off. โญ•๏ธ I was looking at the tube and thinking it won't be long before I'm floating down the East Canada Creek. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Talk about an amazing evening after the black flies went to bed ๐Ÿœ ๐Ÿ› โ›บ

As soon as I got to camp โ›บ I was promptly greeted by the swarms of black flies ๐Ÿœ but I’m not at all surprised as it’s the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ and it’s been a wet spring. ๐ŸŒธ That said I’m glad I’m up at camp and by eight o’clock the black flies were done.

It was a nice drive out here ๐Ÿšš๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš›๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš™๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ›ป bar of course the traffic jam on the Thruway between Albany and Schenectady. Once I got to Interstate 88 and past the one lane bridge ๐ŸŒ‰ construction ๐Ÿšง it was a nice drive. Got off at NY 145 Exit which I’ve never done before but it bypasses the hick towns of Schoharie, Cobelskill and Middleburgh. ๐Ÿฎ 55 mph all the way to Fultonham. I was at Duck ๐Ÿฆ† Pond before 6:30. I get so much of an earlier start from my new office with its acres of parking ๐Ÿ…ฟ.

I had a big fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ last night with the burn ban over, lots of wrappers to burn and a good wood supply. ๐Ÿชต Plus I’m really out in the middle of nowhere and nobody cares. ๐Ÿ˜ณ And it was such a great moon lit night. ๐ŸŽ‘ I stayed up until midnight, reading ๐Ÿ“– a book about how the Amish live without electricity. ๐Ÿง‘‍๐ŸŒพ Laid back in the hammock looked up at the stars โœจ and then sat by the fire around midnight when it started to get a bit cool.

Campfire

Had a nice big ol' fire on Saturday night once the black flies were done for the night.
