Happy International Beaver Day.
"New York State's official mammal, the beaver is unmistakable due to its large body size (26-65 pounds, 25-35 inches) and broad flattened tail (9-10 inches long, 6 inches wide), not to mention the characteristically altered habitat in which it resides."

I've always found that old Adirondack Power and Light plant, along with Lock 11 along NY 5 to be quite interesting.
For Easter Weekend I spent a cold weekend camping up on the East Branch Sacandaga River at Campsite 5. Some of the things I've been thinking about, like buying land and building an off-grid cabin along with other random happenings at camp.
Driving up to the Adirondack last Friday, on a rather rainy afternoon. It wasn't that nice, but it was still nice to get away from it all for a while.
One of the best parts of the internet, is you can go to the Adirondacks without even leaving home. Some beautiful country along the Mill Creek, which runs on the backside of Crane Mountain.
