Good evening! Partly clear and 73 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind. The dew point is 65 degrees. The muggy weather ends Wednesday around 7 pm. ๐Ÿ˜“

Another hot and sticky evening ๐ŸŒƒ laying by the fan after my evening walk. ๐ŸšถIts not as bad as last night but I wish I had stayed in the National Forest for the weekend but the forecast sure looked like Saturday was going to be wet and cloudy. Instead I spent it home sitting by the fan trying to stay cool. I probably should have done more this weekend but I did make some improvements to the blog and worked on other projects at home.

Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 67 degrees at 5am. Five degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 65 at 11pm. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 65 degrees. The record low of 45 occurred back in 1939.

Tonight will have a Last Quarter ๐ŸŒ— Moon with 48% illuminated. The Buck ๐ŸฆŒ Moon is on Monday, July 27. The darkest hour is at 1:02 am, followed by dawn at 4:56 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:30 am in the east-northeast (59ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 23 seconds. Sunrise is 47 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:12 am with sun in the east-northeast (66ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 57 minutes of darkness, an increase of one minute and 22 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8am. Partly sunny ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 81 degrees at 1pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around July 1st. Maximum dew point of 67 at 9am. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. It was humid. The high last year was 88 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 1894.

Another hot day on tap but that’s to be expected this time of year. โ˜€ I haven’t made any plans yet for this week or the weekend but I guess I’ll be working from home or the library for now. Drink lots of water sit by the fan. I am sure missing the air conditioned office ๐Ÿข and library these days. Or even the cool of the buses ๐Ÿš in the morning. If it does get too hot by the end of the week I might seek out the mountains somewhere for remote work. Not sure where but my opportunities are limited by where I have good cell service.

I do need to think more about summer vacation ๐ŸŠ and request a week off the end of the month or maybe early August before the sun starts setting too early and the temperature starts dropping. ๐Ÿ‚ Been thinking more about the Finger Lakes and Alleghany National Forest but also the Western Adirondacks and Saint Lawrence County are on my short list. ๐Ÿ“ƒ When I’m on vacation I’ll be fully free to do whatever I want all day long and won’t have to worry about having cell service. ๐Ÿ“ฑ I really didn’t have a lot of free time when I was in the Green Mountains last week.

At my parents house tonight I was able to sync my blog with my laptop โ†”and get some new content uploaded for this week. It can be tough to constantly be coming up with ideas ๐Ÿ’ก and it’s hard to post things and develop code without the library open with its comfortable seating ๐Ÿ’บ inside.

In four weeks on August 9 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (292ยฐ) at 8:05 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 27 minutes and 48 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had mostly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 81 and 64 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 82 and 61 degrees. The record high of 96 degrees was set back in 2001.

July 10, 2020 Night

Good evening! Rain and 74 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a east breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 71 degrees.

Back home from the Green Mountains. ๐Ÿก It was nice to get away and avoid the heat and humidity but I didn’t feel like camping in the rain โ˜” and it looked like all Saturday would be rainy. While it would be nice to have the day off from work when I had more time to play around in the mountains Saturday didn’t look very nice so I came home. I really liked that campsite down by the Deerfield River swimming hole ๐ŸŠ but it’s not normally easy to get unless you go up there midweek.

I didn’t like how much litter ๐Ÿšฎ and toilet paper flowers I found up there but I tried to clean things up to the best of my ability. I didn’t take home the junk tire or the multiple bags of garbage I found dumped back in the brush but I did burn and pack out cans for recycling from the one bag of litter I found out front. โ™ป Campsite is a lot cleaner than when I found it.

The drive back home was uneventful ๐Ÿš˜ started to rain hard as I left but it helped with the very wash board Somerset Road. The rest of the trip was quiet except for getting onto the Molly Stark Highway at rush hour – kind of busy. ๐Ÿšš ๐Ÿš™

The Hoosick Valley was a bit pungent of cow manure, ๐Ÿ’ฉ they were spreading it on hay fields before the rain probably so it soaks into the ground good and to keep the slurry tank from overflowing should we get a ton of rain. ๐Ÿฎ

It was odd driving past the state employees overflow parking lot ๐Ÿ…ฟ and seeing it all barricaded and closed but I’m guessing it’s not needed or used and the shuttles aren’t running ๐Ÿš with most state workers telecommuting during the pandemic.

Tonight will have showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. ๐ŸŒง Low of 71 degrees at 5am. 10 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 72 at 11pm. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ East wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became light rain by the early hours of the morning. It became very sticky as the night progressed. It got down to 71 degrees. The record low of 48 occurred back in 1986.

Tonight will have a Waining Gibbous ๐ŸŒ– Moon with 67% illuminated. The darkest hour is at 1:01 am, followed by dawn at 4:54 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:28 am in the east-northeast (58ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 24 seconds. Sunrise is 45 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:10 am with sun in the east-northeast (65ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 54 minutes of darkness, an increase of one minute and 15 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a high of 88 degrees at 2pm. Six degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 73 at 9am. South wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It became humid as the day progressed. The high last year was 86 degrees. The record high of 98 was set in 1936.

In four weeks on August 7 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (293ยฐ) at 8:07 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 26 minutes and 10 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had humid, partly sunny, thunderstorm and temperatures between 84 and 69 degrees. Come August we loose daylight in the evening quickly. Typically, you have temperatures between 82 and 61 degrees. The record high of 102 degrees was set back in 1918.

Listening ๐Ÿ‘‚ to the rain, I’m glad I’m home at camping in wet weather isn’t much fun. Just everything gets wet and smokey. I still should plan on taking a summer vacation ๐ŸŠ in a few weeks and with remote work not expected to end anytime soon I have plenty of opportunities to head back to the Green Mountains or anywhere else I have cell service and work remotely from there.

Small Island

July 10, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Yeah, it’s Friday! Partly sunny with fog and 65 degrees at the Green Mountain National Forest. ๐ŸŒ Calm wind. The dew point is 62 degrees. A rather pleasant morning with a breeze on a soon to be hot old July day. Clouds might keep it cooler though.

Today will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly sunny. โ˜€ But later on becoming cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a high of 78 degrees at 1pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 16th. Maximum dew point of 67 at 4pm. Already seeing the clouds start to push in a bit Light southeast wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It became humid as the day progressed. The high last year was 89 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1936.

I have a few projects to work on today ๐Ÿ“ but I expect a fairly quiet day working from the hammock to replying to emails ๐Ÿ“ง and taking calls ๐Ÿ“ž from my hammock. The work laptop is charging using the solar power now, I’m sure there will be some kind of project come the afternoon to do. ๐Ÿ’ผ Probably at four o’clock. I do want to hit the swimming hole ๐ŸŠ later.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:58 pm with sun having an altitude of 69.3ยฐ from the due south horizon (-1.3ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:50 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (295ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (302ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:32 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 25 seconds with dusk around 9:05 pm, which is 29 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:51 pm. At sunset, look out for rain ๐ŸŒง and thunderstorms ๐ŸŒฉ and temperatures around 67 degrees. The dew point will be 67 degrees. There will be a east-southeast breeze at 15 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 8 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 14 seconds over yesterday.

I think my plan for today is to work in the Green Mountains ๐Ÿ—ป and maybe hit the swimming hole a few times and then head home after work, assuming it’s not raining too hard for unsafe driving ๐Ÿš˜. It’s been a fun week but I don’t want to camp in the pouring rain ๐Ÿ’ฆ which it looks like we are right on to get a direct hit from Tropical Storm Fay here in the Green Mountains. Plus I’m low on ice but I’ve eaten most of the pershibles.

Tonight will have showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. ๐ŸŒง Low of 65 degrees at 5am. Four degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 7pm. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ East wind 15 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. Yeah purty wet. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became light rain by the early hours of the morning. It became very sticky as the night progressed. It got down to 71 degrees. The record low of 48 occurred back in 1986.

I keep finding litter ๐Ÿšฏ around this campsite which I keep picking up. Some people are pigs. ๐Ÿฝ I know that when I camp, anything that doesn’t completely burnt gets packed out for recycling. โ™ป I don’t put aluminum or glass in the fire pit and while I may burn out cans to clean them of food residue, I always clean out the fire pit and remove the cans and any unburnt plastic or similar residue. I bury my poop ๐Ÿ’ฉ and I try to leave wood at the fireplace and tidy up the site before I leave. Nobody wants to see or smell your pile of poop or deal with your garbage. ๐Ÿšฎ

On this day in 1890, Wyoming is admitted to the United States as the 44th US State. Many liberals regard that as a mistake, although it has some beautiful country out in Yellowstone and lots of grass to feed cows and oil and coal. ๐Ÿ—ป And in 1962, Telstar, the world’s first communication satellite is launched. ๐Ÿ“ก

Tomorrow will have showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. ๐ŸŒง High of 78 degrees at 2pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 16th. Maximum dew point of 70 at 2pm. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Southwest wind around 6 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It became humid as the day progressed. The high last year was 86 degrees. The record high of 98 was set in 1936.

Looking ahead to Sunday, a chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Maximum dew point of 67 at 8am. Typical average high for the weekend is 82 degrees.

July 9, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 71 degrees at the Green Mountain National Forest. There is a south breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 67 degrees. The muggy weather ends Tuesday around 11 pm. ๐Ÿ˜“

Kind of a hot day but until later in the afternoon the heat wasn’t that bad. ๐Ÿ˜ฐ I could always hop in the Deerfield River if it got too hot plus I had the fan blowing on me most of the day while working. Busy day at work but I did get to hit the swimming ๐ŸŠ hole a few times. Cooled off enough to have a little fire.

One of the locals mentioned that there is a place up the road that sells firewood ๐Ÿ”ฅ something I’ll have to keep in mind for future visits. I was able to cobble together enough wood for the fire plus some camp garbage I had to burn. I also had a bag of litter ๐Ÿšฎ I picked up, and when burning that I found a discarded butane container which I pulled out of the fire just in time.

Tonight will have isolated showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, partly cloudy , with a low of 63 degrees at 5am. Two degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 9pm. South wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 60 degrees. The record low of 47 occurred back in 1963.

Tonight will have a Waining Gibbous ๐ŸŒ– Moon with 75% illuminated. The moon will rise at 11:38 pm. The Buck ๐ŸฆŒ Moon is on Friday, July 24. The darkest hour is at 12:58 am, followed by dawn at 4:48 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:23 am in the east-northeast (58ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 25 seconds. Sunrise is 44 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:05 am with sun in the east-northeast (65ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 51 minutes of darkness, an increase of one minute and 12 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers before 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2pm and 3pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Partly sunny ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 75 degrees at 2pm. Seven degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 6th. Maximum dew point of 67 at 1pm. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 89 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1936.

I think based on the latest forecast I’m going to head home ๐Ÿก on Friday evening after work. Maybe hit the swimming hole a few times tomorrow but I don’t want to camp in the rain. And it’s likely going to be super wet here Friday night into Saturday. ๐Ÿ’ฆ

In four weeks on August 6 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (293ยฐ) at 8:06 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 25 minutes and 37 seconds earlier then tonight. Dusk

July 7, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Partly sunny and 63 degrees at the Green Mountain National Forest. There is a south-southeast breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 61 degrees. Not super hot but I expect it to get warmer later on.

Cooking up some eggs and sausage for breakfast. ๐Ÿณ I expect a hot day today but I’m fine with that. It should be a nice day and I’ll cool off down at Grout Pond later on in the day. ๐ŸŠ

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 78 degrees at 4pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 16th. Maximum dew point of 65 at 4pm. Muggy though. South wind 6 to 9 mph. That will help. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1988.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:57 pm with sun having an altitude of 69.5ยฐ from the due south horizon (-0.9ยฐ vs. 6/21). The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:51 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (295ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (303ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:34 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 27 seconds with dusk around 9:07 pm, which is 22 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:53 pm. At sunset, look for possible thunderstorms ๐ŸŒฉ and temperatures around 71 degrees. The dew point will be 64 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 12 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 4 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have isolated showers and thunderstorms. โšก Mostly cloudy โ˜, with a low of 65 degrees at 3am. Four degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 65 at 6pm. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 57 degrees. The record low of 43 occurred back in 1969.

On this day in 1981, U.S. President Ronald Reagan appoints Sandra Day O’Connor to become the first female member of the Supreme Court of the United States. ๐Ÿ‘ฉThat’s almost as cool as sliced bread, which is sold for the first time by the Chillico the Baking Company in 1921.๐Ÿž

Hot, humid and wet this weekend. ๐Ÿ˜ฐ Saturday, a chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Maximum dew point of 70 at 12pm. Sunday, showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Maximum dew point of 68 at 11am. Like a swamp. Looking ahead, there are 17 weeks until Election Day 2020 ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:40 pm with dusk at 5:10 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2019, we had partly sunny skies, with rain showers and temperatures between 53 and 30 degrees. Sounds nice compared to the hot weather of recent. But I was so sick last year with Lyme. Typically, the high temperature is 53 degrees. We hit a record high of 75 back in 1990.

Near Dusk

July 3, 2020 Night

Good evening! Cloudy and 72 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Calm wind. The dew point is 67 degrees. The muggy weather ends Sunday around 1 am. ๐Ÿ˜“

Its been a terribly muggy day and kind wet with downpours throughout the day. โ˜” After all this extended dry period and drought we are getting caught up with the rain. No real thunder or wind though out of the store. That said, laying in the bed next to the fan is quite nice.

I went to Papscanne Island Preserve for a while ๐Ÿธ but it was incredibly muggy and several trails were blocked by numerous large downed trees and the heavy brush abs vines that surround them. Often getting around a downed tree in the woods isn’t a big deal but the woods there is dense. Sat down by the river for a while but that was sultry too. And then when I got home it started to pour once again.

I was thinking it might have been nice to gotten out of town this long weekend โ›บ but I don’t think I made a mistake to stay in town through Sunday. Setting up camp means I’ll have numerous choices and hopefully I’ll have a pleasant place to work while I beat the heat. The nice thing about camping in the National Forest is you can stay in one site for the whole time there – 14 days out of any 30 day period. Not setting up and taking down.

I am well stocked up after shopping at Aldi. ๐Ÿ I tried to emphasize dry goods and things that don’t spoil quickly as even though I’ll get ice every three days I know things might not hold well in the heat and it’s a 10-15 mile drive to the nearest general store so I don’t want to have to repeat too many times. โ„ I’m hoping to get a site with good sun for the solar but also shade to be cool in the afternoon plus good cell service ๐Ÿ“ฑ for work and close enough to a swimming hole ๐ŸŠ for after hours.

Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers between 10pm and 11pm. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 63 degrees at 4am. Two degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 9pm. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies. It was humid. It got down to 66 degrees. The record low of 44 occurred back in 1971.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous Moon ๐ŸŒ Moon with 98% illuminated. At 9 PM, the moon was in the southeast (137ยฐ) at an altitude of 12ยฐ from the horizon, some 233,948 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by December 28th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Buck ๐ŸฆŒ Moon is on Saturday, July 4. The darkest hour is at 1:00 am, followed by dawn at 4:49 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:23 am in the east-northeast (57ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 26 seconds. Sunrise is 35 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:06 am with sun in the east-northeast (64ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 47 minutes of darkness, an increase of 51 seconds over last night.

Independence Day will have patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 87 degrees at 4pm. Five degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 65 at 9am. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It was somewhat humid. The high last year was 91 degrees. The record high of 104 was set in 1911.

Maybe not record breaking, ๐ŸŽ†but it’s going to be a hot Independence Day. I plan to do some fishing ๐ŸŽฃ and turn out to the folks house for a socially distant picnic with separate tables and bringing my own plates and silverware. ๐Ÿด I also need to fix a loose wire on the truck cap. ๐Ÿ’ก

In four weeks on July 31 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (296ยฐ) at 8:16 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 20 minutes and 4 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had humid, mostly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 81 and 65 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 82 and 62 degrees. The record high of 98 degrees was set back in 1917.

Looking ahead, Election Day 2020 ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 4 months.

West Branch of the East Canada Creek

June 25, 2020 Evening

Good evening! Heavy rain and 73 degrees at the Jones Pond. โ˜” Glad I’m tired ๐Ÿ˜ด and decided to bail for the truck early. It’s wet! There is a west-southwest breeze at 9 mph. ๐Ÿƒ with gusts up to 24 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. The dew point is 45 degrees. The skies will clear around 5 pm.

Just a rain storm ๐Ÿ’ฆ but quite wet for now. I’m not sure if good because of all the weather warnings โš  of how dry it is. That said, this week has had a lot of showers and Saturday could be quite wet.

Today I stopped by Bog River Falls then spent some time at the Tupper Lake Library. ๐Ÿ’ป Been a pretty quiet time at work but I’ve been working on coming up with polling regions for one of my clients. Spent a little time at Tupper Lake Park and then bought a few very expensive groceries at the independent in Tupper Lake.

I forgot to get gas and ended up driving ๐Ÿš˜ through Saranac Lake on the way up to camp. It probably was about the same amount of time as going through pokey Fish Creek Ponds. Pretty drive between Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake, I didn’t realize how much of a drop its down to Saranac Lake. The village of Saranac Lake reminds me of a bit of Galenton, PA with the mountains and the ponds but much bigger and less hillbilly.

Occasionally I’ve been hearing a clinking noise when I turn my steering wheel ๐Ÿš™ which is bothering me to no end after spending all that money on the front end of the truck. ๐Ÿ’ต If something else is wearing out I would have hoped the shop would have pointed it out and asked me if I wanted it fixed. Maybe it’s nothing, there is nothing I can do about it for now, but it’s still annoying. It’s not effecting drivablity and it’s still happening only rarely. At times I get overly sensitive about auto noises.

Jones Pond is nice but they’ve reduced it to two drive in campsites โ›บ – the site I really like and the one in the boat launch parking area ๐Ÿ…ฟ. You can guess which one I am at tonight. It’s fine though, only two nights here โœŒ and it’s still on the lake and it’s close to the road so no rough roads to drive and quick to leave come Saturday when I head home. ๐Ÿก Plus I have decent cell service for work. ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Tonight will have a 20 percent chance of showers before 9pm. Partly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 53 degrees at 5am. Six degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 5th. Maximum dew point of 52 at 10pm. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 61 degrees. The record low of 39 occurred back in 1979.

Tonight will have a Waxing Crescent ๐ŸŒ’ Moon with 23% illuminated. At 5 PM, the moon was in the south (178ยฐ) at an altitude of 61ยฐ from the horizon, some 229,463 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by December 16th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Buck ๐ŸฆŒ Moon is on Sunday, July 5. The darkest hour is at 1:01 am, followed by dawn at 4:40 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:16 am in the northeast (56ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 37 seconds. Sunrise is 22 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:01 am with sun in the east-northeast (63ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 30 minutes of darkness, an increase of 21 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 78 degrees at 5pm. Three degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 16th. Maximum dew point of 56 at 8am. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph. A year ago, we had rain in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. It was humid. The high last year was 87 degrees. The record high of 99 was set in 1952.

In four weeks on July 23 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (299ยฐ) at 8:32 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 13 minutes and 39 seconds earlier then today. In 2019 on that day, we had rain and temperatures between 79 and 65 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 83 and 62 degrees. The record high of 96 degrees was set back in 1955.

Looking ahead,

Before the rain comes this evening check out the tons of woods lilies. The flowers won't likely survive the rain.
