Blue Mountain Fire Tower

There is a fire tower on the mountain overlooking Blue Mountain Lake. It has some interesting views, and can be checked out by driving just north of Blue Mountain Lake on NY 30. It is one of the most popular hikes in the Adirondacks, and many people also visit Moose River Plains or the Adirondack Museum after hiking the tower.

Here is Blue Mountain heading North on NY 28.

Blue Mountain

The registration box at the bottom of the mountain.

Registration Box

The trail is well maintained, despite it’s extensive use, with board walks across muddy locations.

Board Walk Across Marshy Area

The first part of the trail is relatively flat for a while, then gets steep for a bit.

Trail

A lot of the lower part of the mountain was rocky with lots little rocks to step over.

Rocky Ascent Up the Mountain

About halfway up the mountain you get partial views down the mountain.

Mountains Thru The Trees

Eventually the mountain opens up a little, and your walking on exposed granite, steep, but not too steep.

Granite Rock Face

Once your almost to the top, you can look back and see Blue Mountain Lake through the trees.

Blue Monutain Lake Through the Trees

You reach the top of the mountain, and there is a gradual ascent, as you cross to the eastern side of the mountain, where the summit and the tower is located. Finally, you see the tower through the trees.

First View of Tower

The tower is a relatively short 50 or 60 foot, but it’s plenty high to get good views of the surrounding landscape.

Moose River Plains to the south-west of the tower.

Cedar River Flow

On the eastern side of the mountain, there is a radio tower and the old ranger’s cabin.

Tower from the Eastern Approach

From the eastern side, their is a ledge, where you can see and look down towards like Lake Durant and Moose River Plains.

To the north-east there are views of the High Peaks Mountains. They probably woudln’t be as clear on a hazy day.

April showers โ˜” being the May flowers ๐ŸŒธ

You look at satellite photo archives and its pretty obvious that is the truth. After several days of clouds and rain things green up. I don’t see any freezing weather coming up but it might be cool enough some days with the dampness that closing windows may be warranted but heating season is done. At least for me. Might though being the Big Buddy heater camping for rainy days and cold mornings through early June.

April 1, 2021 Morning

Good morning! Happy April! Trout season returns again, as does a few weeks of nicer weather before the black flies arrive. ๐ŸŽฃ Two weeks until the midpoint of the month when first quarter tax payments are due ๐ŸŒผ . Maybe some green then, as April showers make April flowers. ๐ŸŒท Or maybe just a lot a sloppy mix of mud and manure with black flies hatching in puddles everywhere. ๐Ÿœ It really depends a lot which part of state you are in, although lower elevations do green up typically a bit earlier but have more mud, especially if impacted by hooves. Rain and 39 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a northwest breeze at 13 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Not expecting a lot of snow here, but maybe some icing up with temperatures dropping below freezing at around 9 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ Or maybe the drier air will dry things up before the salt spreaders come out. That’s what the NYSDOT is hoping with their traffic counters still installed on the roads or they’ll be patching up air hoses broke by plow blades.

Yesterday was a pretty ordinary as the month of March came to an end. ๐Ÿ—“ Kind of nice working from home and not having to catch a late night bus home, and then run and get my truck to bring downtown. ๐Ÿš˜ I even managed to get both my morning and evening walks done, as the rain held off and sat out back for a while, including watching that really neat Sonne Farms calving video ๐Ÿฎ that I posted last night. It doesn’t look like we are going to get much if any snow, although they might get some snow up north. Weekend plans kind of remain in flux with work and everything else — I might stick around town until next weekend or maybe not. I’m not really decided. I can work remotely if I have cell service, so that opens up possibilities. ๐Ÿ’ป No morning walk today, due to the rain. ๐ŸŒง By evening, it will stop raining. ๐Ÿช Continuing to put off shopping, although I got milk last night ๐Ÿฅ› and I might go to store today as I really want some frozen fruit to snack on. It’s amazing how fast I can make blueberries and strawberries ๐Ÿ“ disappear.

Today will rain showers before 4pm, then rain and snow showers likely. ๐ŸŒง High of 42 degrees at 1pm. 10 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 11th. I do not approve. Northwest wind 13 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 55 degrees. The record high of 77 was set in 1986. 5 inches of snow fell back in 1924.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 1:00 pm with sun having an altitude of 52.1° from the due south horizon (-18.8° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.7 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:44 pm with the sun in the west (271°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (277°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:22 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 55 seconds with dusk around 7:49 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:24 pm. At sunset, look out for snow showers ๐ŸŒจ and temperatures around 36 degrees. Breezy, 16 mph breeze โ›… from the northwest. Today will have 12 hours and 44 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 53 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of rain and snow showers before 7pm, then a chance of snow showers between 7pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 23 degrees at 5am. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 10th. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2020, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 38 degrees. The record low of 17 occurred back in 1964.

After the snow, not a half bad Easter Weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, sunny, with a high near 51. West wind 7 to 9 mph. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 53. Typical average high for the weekend is 53 degrees. It sounds like it is going to a pretty nice weekend, although it looks increasingly like I will have to work, so I don’t know how realistic going up to the Adirondacks will be. I mean I guess I could to Central New York but we will see how things go. I also haven’t gone shopping as I figure use up the food I have at home and then shop when I have more certainty on my weekend plans.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Quarterly Tax Payments are Due ๐Ÿ’ฐ and the guberment takes all of my money, with the sun will be setting at 7:37 pm with dusk at 8:06 pm. On that day in 2020, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 48 and 33 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 58 degrees. We hit a record high of 86 back in 2003. Not a very impressive record. Maybe we’ll toast it this year.

Snow Melt Coming Down the Mountain

June 3, 2020 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? It’s a dusty delta day, of course. So Bobby Gentrie made famous with the Ode to Billie Joe. Good day for throwing flowers ๐ŸŒธ off bridges. Three weeks to Latest Sunset ๐ŸŒ†. Cloudy and 61 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a south breeze at 9 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 56 degrees. The skies will clear around 4 pm.

Nice morning, heading out for my morning walk in a bit. ๐Ÿšถ Pancakes and coffee โ˜• for breakfast then it’s down to work, a busy day ahead. Busy enough I actually ended up doing some work last evening before bed. That’s why I ended up skipping on the blog post for the night.

After work or in the off chance I have downtime today I’ll start packing for camping โ›บ. I am probably going to go up to the Adirondacks for 4-5 days, although it’s a bit uncertain based on the weather. More remote work this week although with the Capital Region in Phase 2 I tend to think my office ๐Ÿข will be reopening soon. I haven’t heard anything from CDTA when the bus service will resume but I expect it’s coming back relatively soon. I will probably camp at the campsite where I have the good cell phone reception ๐Ÿ“ถ and lots of sun for solar. This time I’m not bringing the kayak just because working up there I need the solar in the day time and it’s kind of pain to take on and off repeatedly.

Today will have a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 77 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 10th. Maximum dew point of 63 at 12pm. South wind 9 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 65 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1925.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:55 pm with sun having an altitude of 69.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-1.1ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.2 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:47 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (295ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (302ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:29 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 25 seconds with dusk around 9:02 pm, which is 44 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the southeast (142ยฐ) at an altitude of 24ยฐ from the horizon, 228,490 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:47 pm. At sunset, look for partly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 73 degrees. The dew point will be 60 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 14 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 9 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 8 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 58 degrees at 5am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 19th. Maximum dew point of 60 at 7pm. West wind 6 to 14 mph. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 47 degrees. The record low of 36 occurred back in 1947.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Maximum dew point of 64 at 8am. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Maximum dew point of 52 at 6am. Typical average high for the weekend is 75 degrees.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Latest Sunset ๐ŸŒ† when the sun will be setting at 8:37 pm with dusk at 9:12 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 85 and 56 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 80 degrees. We hit a record high of 96 back in 1943.

 Busy Spring Morning

May 7, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ•! Been so cold fewer flowers ๐ŸŒท then normal this time of year but still quite nice. Sunny and 51 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ŸŒž Calm wind. A beautiful morning. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Saturday around morning. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Beautiful morning. โ˜บ. Started my day with a nice walk ๐Ÿšถ around the super block and then I’m planning to work outside most of the day. ๐Ÿ’ผ Maybe go down to the library books ๐Ÿ“š where I can work with the faster internet and upload new stuff to the site blog. ๐ŸŒธ

Feeling quite well now ๐Ÿ’Š with the doxycycline doing its magic. Aches and soreness in my legs are mostly home not as tired ๐Ÿ˜ด. Lyme disease sucks. Heck even my phone ๐Ÿ“ฑ autocomplete knows that now. I was told that the reason I was so much more tired and sick from the doxycycline this time was the Lyme disease infection was recent and the disease was much more of a fight. Pretty good now but still a bit sore.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 63 degrees at 2pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 27th. Light northwest wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 66 degrees. The record high of 92 was set in 1930. 0.2 inches of snow fell back in 1967.โ„

I’m thinking about going down to the Pepscanne Preserve ๐Ÿฆ this afternoon if the weather is nice. I really enjoy seeing all the birds down there and sitting out by the river especially on such a beautiful day. Then get groceries at Aldi’s and gas. โ›ฝ

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 64.4ยฐ from the due south horizon (-6.5ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.9 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:23 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (288ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (294ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:03 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 10 seconds with dusk around 8:34 pm, which is one minute and 6 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:14 pm. At sunset, look for out for rain showers ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 53 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 21 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 20 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, then gradual clearing toward daybreak ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 36 degrees at 5am. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 12th. West wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 44 degrees. The record low of 26 occurred back in 1968.

Mothers Day Weekend looks cold but Sunday might be slightly better. ๐Ÿ˜ Saturday, a chance of snow before 8am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 8am and 10am, then a chance of rain showers after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Breezy, with a west wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Typical average high for the weekend is 67 degrees. Saturday is definitely a stay home day. ๐Ÿก The internet will be happy ๐Ÿ˜Š. Sunday maybe I can see if I can get another tick bite at Partridge Run? ๐Ÿ‘€Or not.

One month ๐Ÿ“… from now will be Strawberry Moon ๐ŸŒ• when the sun will be setting at 8:31 pm with dusk at 9:05 pm. The average high temperature is 32 degrees, with a record high of 61 in 1895.

 Horseshoe Falls

April 24, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Yeah, it’s Friday! Next Friday is May 1st. Been such a cold spring it’s hard to imagine that next week is May. It’s only just starting to green up in Albany. ๐ŸŒธ Rain and 41 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a north breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. 0.14 inches of rain is expected before it ends around 4 pm. Not a lot of rain predicted and Saturday will be nice.

Coffee โ˜• and wild berry muffins this morning for breakfast. Also cream cheese. It was a pretty decent breakfast not as heavy or labor intensive as making eggs ๐Ÿณ like I did yesterday. No birds ๐Ÿฆ out the window to give the middle finger too. I do get a laugh ๐Ÿ˜‚ out of giving the bird to the birds. I’m sure my neighbors think I’m nuts.

Wish it was nicer out but I really shouldn’t complain much ๐ŸŒป– I am sure hot and humid days are right around the corner. It will kind of suck this year if state park swimming ๐ŸŠ pools are closed because of Coronavirus.

Today will rain likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a high of 53 degrees at 4pm. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 4th. North wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 61 degrees. The record high of 81 was set in 2001. 1.2 inches of snow fell back in 1967.โ„

Kind of a dreary day for sure. ๐Ÿ’ฆ April Showers bring May flowers although they’ll be no tulip festival ๐ŸŒท this year not that I ever went to that except for tabling for Save the Pine Bush a few years ago. But it’s nice when things green up except of course for the black flies.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:54 pm with sun having an altitude of 60.4ยฐ from the due south horizon (-10.4ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 3.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:10 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (282ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (289ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:48 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 4 seconds with dusk around 8:18 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Crescent ๐ŸŒ’ Moon in the west-northwest (282ยฐ) at an altitude of 11ยฐ from the horizon, 247,483 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:55 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 49 degrees. There will be a north-northwest breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 49 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 38 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 36 degrees at 4am. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 12th. Northwest wind 3 to 5 mph. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 38 degrees. The record low of 23 occurred back in 1965.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 63 degrees at 4pm. Typical for tomorrow. Light and variable wind. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 66 degrees. The record high of 89 was set in 2009. 0.3 inches of snow fell back in 1928.โ„

Sounds like a remarkably nice spring day. โ˜€ I have to get early up tomorrow but I should have most of the day to enjoy spending in the woods. ๐ŸŒฟ I’m thinking about hiking in the afternoon and maybe hammock camping โ›บ in a state forest, although it might be a bit chilly and wet by morning. I think the rain is coming early come Sunday.

Looking ahead to Sunday, rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 52. East wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Typical average high for the weekend is 63 degrees. ๐Ÿ’ฆ Definitely going to be a real dreary day. I’m going to have to get some more videos to watch from the library Wi-Fi and some more data to make up maps.

Paid my rent or actually the bank did ๐Ÿฆ as next week is May. Hopefully enough of my neighbors are too and my landlord isn’t going bankrupt. ๐Ÿก He does have a nice house over the river but who knows what his cash flow situation is like. I know a lot of out of work people aren’t paying rent. I also had to cancel the double bill for my car insurance – they kindly sent me a second bill for the time period with a later deadline and a reduced payment – but it meant that I cancel that from auto bill pay as I had already paid my bill for the next six months. ๐Ÿ’ต

I am still waiting on my stimulus check to arrive ๐Ÿ’ฐ but because I didn’t owe or get anything refunded from the federal government this year, I don’t think they have my information on file and the last I checked their website wasn’t working. I was hoping it would come sooner rather than later so I could use it partially to buy index ๐Ÿ“‡ funds when the market is still cheap. I’m young I’m not phased much about the sluggish performance of the market lately. I do think at some point Coronavirus will kill who it’s going to kill (hopefully not me or loved ones) and then we’ll move forward. Ten years from now I expect the markets to be a lot stronger and then I can buy land. ๐Ÿšœ

As previously noted, next Friday is May 1st ๐Ÿ•Š when the sun will be setting at 7:55 pm with dusk at 8:26 pm. On that day in 2019, we had cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 56 and 42 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 65 degrees. We hit a record high of 86 back in 2001.

 Cat Tails

January 2, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Back to work today after my five days away from work and some nice camping too. โ›บ It’s the New Year, full of hope and working for a better tomorrow. ๐ŸŽ‡ Next Thursday is Static Electric Shock Day ๐Ÿงผ. How shocking. Never have much problem with static in my apartment as the air is never real dry. Partly cloudy and 30 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. โ›… There is a south breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Things will start to thaw out at around 9 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 45 degrees at 3pm. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 17th. It will feel almost like a spring day in January. ๐ŸŒธ No flowers yet but we can look forward to nicer days in about three months. Not seeing much cold in the forecast in the near future. South wind 8 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 34 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1890. 7.1 inches of snow fell back in 2014.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:00 pm with sun having an altitude of 24.4ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46.4ยฐ vs. 6/21). It’s starting to climb a bit more as summer approaches. Not 70.8 yet! The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:48 pm with the sun in the southwest (231ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (239ยฐ) starting at 4:30 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 24 seconds with dusk around 5:04 pm, which is 52 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:41 pm. At sunset, look for partly sunny skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 44 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 7 minutes of daytime, an increase of 48 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have increasing clouds โ˜, with a low of 34 degrees at 1am. 18 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 6th. South wind 7 to 9 mph. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 32 degrees. The record low of -14 occurred back in 1970.

I saw one of the CDTA all electric battery ๐Ÿ”‹ buses ๐Ÿš running the 233 Schodack Run today. I’m glad, electric buses are the future. They bought the buses last summer but now they are live. I am hopeful the technology works out well, as it could have a lot of emissions reductions. A lot of public transit authorities are adopting electric buses, and it could have a significant impact on local air quality — and possibly noise reduction too. Morever, the all electric buses will be cleaner and nicer neighbors — the low sulfur diesel fuel and pollution traps help a lot — but emissions controls aren’t always perfect. Also, the ANSWERS smoke stack is totally gone now — they finished tearing it down last week. It’s a commitment towards a cleaner air quality for all.๐Ÿญ

Not a particularly nice weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ™ Saturday, rain, possibly mixed with snow, becoming all rain after 7am. High near 40. Calm wind becoming northeast around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Sunday, a chance of snow before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Typical average high for the weekend is 31 degrees.

Staying in town this weekend. ๐Ÿก I heard Saturday may be very wet. Maybe that’s when I’ll wash my truck. ๐Ÿš™ I can probably come up with enough groceries around town in the mean time. ๐Ÿด It’s good to use up the food ๐Ÿฒ I have at home. Not sure if I will do it this weekend but I want to go over to John Wolcott house and work on scanning in the index ๐Ÿ“‡ for his files ๐Ÿ“‚ and use it to make labels and a type set index to keep them better organized. It will have to be a Saturday so I can drive into the city with the big heavy Save the Pine Bush scanner.

I am continuing to research mental health services with my insurance provider and start to call around. ๐Ÿ“ž I am thinking a little bit of counseling and self reflection with a neutral party could really boost my productivity at work ๐Ÿ’ผ and open up new career opportunities. Maybe I’ll have more courage and confidence to do more job interviews or see a promotion and make more money ๐Ÿ’ต after some counseling. If I could turn 8 counseling sessions at $25 co-pay a piece over four months into a future $10,000 raise over a decade of investing that could be well over $100k and plug that gap in my future plans for the off-grid property out west. I have a lot of important decisions to make, especially as 2021 gets underway, and I want to make them as well as possible.

As previously noted, next Thursday is Static Electric Shock Day ๐Ÿงผ when the sun will be setting at 4:40 pm with dusk at 5:11 pm. On that day in 2019, we had rain and temperatures between 40 and 32 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 30 degrees. We hit a record high of 62 back in 2008.
