It's the second half of November as the label job I ran today reminds me. 🏷️ The landscape is cold and barren, it's dark out for a good portion of day, and riding home in the dark isn't much fun. But you make the best of it, and I figure the extra sleep and time to learn isn't a bad thing. πŸ›Œ Next adventure after Thanksgiving! πŸ¦ƒ Hopefully the fire risk is down by then as I want to have a big bonfire in wilderness πŸ”₯ after a good day riding trail or hiking. 🚢

Deep Pond Trail

 Deep Pond Trail

Deep Pond Trail is located off of the Brooktrout Lake Trail in Moose River Plainss (technically West Canada Lake Wilderness), and is a three mile hike back from Idnain Lake Road.

Botheration Pond Trail

 Botheration Pond Trail

The Vly and Brotheration Pond are the headwaters of the East Branch of the Sacanadaga River. The Vly is 3/4 miles back from Barton Mine Road. Brotheration Pond is another 1 1/2 miles from there.

The full loop via the Halfway Brook Trail to William Blake Trail to the Botheration Pond Trail back to Halfway Brook Trail is roughly 10 miles. This is a relatively (all day) loop to trail to hike or ski, as the elevation change is under 200 feet over the whole loop.

Poke O Moonshine Fire Tower

 Poke O Moonshine Fire Tower

Poke-O-Moonshine Fire Tower is located 2,161 feet above sea level and offers sweeping views of Northern Adirondacks and Lake Champlain Valley includes points as far north as Chazy, and south to the High Peaks of the Adirondacks.

There are two ways up Poke-o-Moonshine. The most common way nowadays is the 2.5 mile old woods road, that provide a quiet, modestly steep way up the mountain. The other way from the former Poke-O-Moonshine Campground is a 1.2 mile steep and eroded footpath.
