Enjoying the beauiful weather this morning, before vacation comes to an end.
Campfire crackling in distance, a pleasant mid-summer evening, one of several four day/three night trips I ended up taking to Piseco-Powley Road in the summer that came and went.
One of the primary slaughter houses in the region, Cargill Meat Solutions turns cows (which enter in the one end like a barnyard) into hamburgers, steaks and other meet products outside of Wysox.
This is so wrong but also so hilarious. A sign of the times, when the bar is set so low.
This was a tent only site, due to signs about no camping in parking lots -- yahoos had to ruin it but eventually I got a drive-in campsite later in the week.
Driving from Watkins Glen back up to the National Forest where I was camping.
Because a blast was out of the question, the 162 meters high cooling tower of the former M?lheim-K?rlich nuclear power plant was cleared from above with a remote-controlled excavator piece by piece. After falling below a height of approx. 80 meters, a demolition excavator finally brought the cooling tower down from the ground on August 9, 2019.
Due to a faulty building permit procedure, the nuclear power plant was only in operation for about two years.
