October and already the leaves are fading away in the Adirondacks. πŸ‚ Most shocking to me is that we are less then a month away from November, which in many ways should be a sigh of relief with the craziness of work and with the deep blue skies and crisp days of that month.

Dexter Lake

Dexter Lake is one of smaller lakes in Ferris Lake Wild Forest, known mostly for it's heart shape and how it's very centrally located in forest, in pretty remote country. There is one campsite on western shore on the Dry Lake Trail.

North

In the distance is Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, with Whiteface just beyond it. Not the clearest or nicest of days, but still visable. In the foreground is the col/shoulder of Owls Head.
