I have been following the right-to-repair movement a bit. It seems silly that companies shouldn't be required to provide repair manuals and documentation for machines they release on the world.
I have a bit of a fascination with vacuum tube technology these days, because they did some pretty amazing things with those tubes that glowed and threw off a lot of heat, such as this mid-1960s hi-fidelity amplifier. Wouldn't be long after this came out that they went to solid-state components -- these old beasts took a lot of maintance and adjustments to work properly as they got older.
This is a clearly laid out, easy to read Python tutorial. While I knew most of the basics from my experience writing custom scripts and plugins for QGIS, and I figured a good refresher course is helping to make me a better Python programmer. I use Python occasionally, although honestly I should it a lot more for many of my projects -- it's a lot better language then PHP in many regards for the things I do.
NOT EDUCATIONAL. But hilarious at any rate.
