St. Lawrence County

St. Lawrence County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2010 census, the population was 111,944.[1] The county seat is Canton.

Saint Lawrence County is home to St. Lawrence University, State University of New York at Potsdam, Clarkson University, the SUNY-ESF Ranger School, and the State University of New York at Canton. Part of the County is in the Adirondack Park and includes much of the Oswegatchie River, Cranberry Lake and Lake Ozonia.

Heading Around The U

Horseshoe Lake is fairly large, all things considered. The open bays can be a bit rough, especially when you get into the wider portion of the U in the horseshoe.

Northeast Tip

This is the upper tip of the Horseshoe Lake, in the most North-Eastern portion.

Bog River Flow Narrows

The Lower portion of the Bog River, is pretty narrow in part, due to the rocky terrain that it covers. You can easily bottom out a canoe or kayak in these parts, and other parts appear quite deep. There are a couple of paddle-in campsites along here.
