This is the water pump that you use to get water. The hand pump puts out about 1/2 gallon of water for each stroke of the pump, after the first couple that you have to do to prime the pump.

Technically the water from the pump is posted as non-potable by the DEC, because they want you to boil it just to be safe. I don't know how deep the well is, but I suspect it draws fairly directly from the aquifer supplied from the lake.

To reduce litter, and encourage donations of old beer cans and other deposit bottles, they have a 55-gallon drum for collecting them. It's a great idea, as people don't necessarily want to haul them home, and the thing is beer cans don't burn.
