Hammond Pond

The Hammond Pond Wild Forest is located in the northeastern Adirondacks and the Lake Champlain Basin of Essex County. There are approximately 40,036 acres in the unit, which is situated in the Towns of Crown Point, Elizabethtown, Moriah, North Hudson, Schroon, Ticonderoga, and Westport.

Dam

Hammond Pond is held back by a gravel berm and this wooden structure, which I s thinking is probably also to help the fish. It looks like part of the Hammond Pond Dam is washed out so it's much less of a dam then it once was.

Campsite View

This is the view from the campsite at the end of Hammond Pond. There is supposedly a trail along the south end of the lake, which follows an old woods road,but I did not stick around long enough to fully explore it.
