June 14, 2016 Night
Good evening! Currently sunny and 63 degrees in Delmar. There is a west breeze at 5 mph. A long day but now it’s over.
Pretty pleasant night on tap. Clear, with a low around 54. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. The normal low for tonight is 57, so not too bad. The record low of 42 occured back in 1985.
Tonight we have a Waxing Gibbous Moon with 70% illuminated. The moon will set around 3:21 am. June’s Strawberry Moon is on Monday.
Tomorrow the sun will rise at 5:16 am with the first light at 4:41 am, which is 3 seconds later then today.
Sunny and nice tomorrow . High near 83. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the morning. The normal high for Wednesday is 78, so slightly above average. The record high of 96 happened back in 1988.
Looking ahead, Armed Forces Day is in a week, Altamont Fair Opens is in 9 weeks and Election Day is in 21 weeks.
My attempt at quickly stringing up a lighted flag for flag day was a bummer. The flag flew beautifully all day and night, but the light blew over and I couldn’t get it well aimed at the flag from the window sill. Mosquitoes crawled inside through the screen I left up to run the power cord outside. I ended up putting the light away. I’d have to use a brighter bulb at home, as there more light pollution. I’ll probably leave the flag out a few more days before taking it down. I don’t want it to fade or get tattered being left up full time.
I’ve been trying to hold back my thoughts on Facebook about the awful things going on with presidential election, but it sure is tough when there is so many stupid memes and liberal friends who believe insane things. But I realize zealots will be zealots and I’m best off just hanging in the safe spot of the Internet – my blog and not taking sides.
I hope you had a good day. Sleep well.
