Cedar River Off Wakely Dam
Monday, Monday with Thanksgiving in the Future π¦
Hello second part of November. Looking forward to a better week after a rough weekend. Feeling better today, that is to the extent I’m feeling much at all, maybe my head is completely set onto Friday and getting out of town and away from it all. I should enjoy these days, as they won’t be around forever.
Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. But it’s a three day week. Sunny and 28 degrees in Albany, NY. π There is a north-northwest breeze at 7 mph. π. Things will start to thaw out at around 9 am. π‘οΈ Need those gloves for the ride downtown, though at least it’s clear.
Kind of a chilly morning π² for the bike ride downtown, but sunny. Still cold in the valleys though, especially in the gorge below Southern Boulevard and the Thursday, Yes, it’s a Monday, but I’m moving forward. Up at 5 AM, boiled down 2 lbs of chickpeas, and also a big pot of rice, lentils, beans, corn, broccoli and chiptole spice. π₯ Used some of the chickpeas for hummus this morning, I have a ton of celery that I got on sale at the store yesterday, the rest of the chickpeas and probably some of the aquafava their cooked in will be frozen. I can use the chickpeas in chicken soup tomorrow, along with having some as a snack with blueberries when camping this upcoming weekend int he Adirondacks. π
Today will be sunny π, with a high of 38 degrees at 2pm. 10 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 15th. North wind 6 to 8 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 35 degrees. The record high of 72 was set in 1991. 3.4 inches of snow fell back in 1961. π¨
I might go for a midday π ride or maybe just a walk πΆ on my lunch break. I was going to do a morning walk but it’s so dark these days so I decided to instead leave earlier for my ride to work, then walk in the Plaza when I got there. But the time I was done with breakfast and showered, π and rode downtown π² it was basically just time to get to work.
Solar noon π is at 11:42 am with sun having an altitude of 27.7° from the due south horizon (-43.1° vs. 6/21). At sunset, look for clear skies π and temperatures around 36 degrees. There will be a north-northeast breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 39 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 58 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be partly cloudy π, with a low of 15 degrees at 6am. 15 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Might need the central heat on tonight. In 2022, we had light snow in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 19 degrees. The record low of 7 occurred back in 1879.
Tuesday will have a chance of rain, mainly after 5pm. π§ Increasing clouds, with a high near 41. Light southeast wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
