Good Morning – February 15, 2022

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. πŸŒ„

Halfway through February. Day 2 of the early morning walk program. It’s cold but the sun is rising. Nice golden ball.

Sunny and 6 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌞 Calm wind. There is a inch of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 10 am. 🌑️

Yesterday was a later night at work than I expected πŸŒƒ and I ended up getting home at 8 pm, so I put some fish 🐠 sticks in the oven, had dinner and retired to bed πŸ›. Last night just felt super cold ❄. Windy downtown with the tall buildings. 🏒

Later this week and next week 🚢 when there is no session then I’ll probably go back to taking the express bus 🚍 and walking the Plaza but it’s good that I’m getting at least some of my steps in. I actually rather like these crisp and clear mornings.

I used up the last of the cheese πŸ§€ making biscuits up for breakfast and I’m almost out of frozen fruit and that’s not dairy good so I may need to get to the store and get groceries after work on Wednesday. Tonight though I probably will have to work late again. 😴

Researchers Develop Poison Bait to Control Feral Pigs | Field & Stream

This is pretty cool science, building a safe pesticide for controlling feral pigs using sodium nitrates, the same thing used to cure bacon. Basically pigs are slightly more sensitive to sodium nitrate than humans, so they can be poisoned by it. But the sodium nitrates don't bioaccumulate. I do wonder though about the production of Nitroso compounds and if they could cause problems downstream.
