Forgotten Shack

This long abandoned house along River Road in New Baltimore, that sits in the middle of a farm field has along interested me. I actually don't know if it's still there, it's been many years since I've been down that way.

January 31, 2020 Morning

Good morning! January is almost done. Two weeks to Valentines Day ❀️. Clawdy in Trump’s America although there is a bit of sun over towards Massachusetts and 21 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. ☁ Calm breeze. Kind of brown and gray but at least the ground is frozen for now. Things will start to thaw out at around noontime. 🌡️

Everything is kind of brown and gray on this winter morning although at least it’s cold enough to be mud free 🐽 at least for now. Quite a bit of snow ❄ up north and still a fair bit out in Madison County although with the weekend forecast I wasn’t planning on going out of town. Next weekend I might go to the Adirondacks for an overnight if I go to the Adirondacks Outdoors Show first but it depends a lot on the weather.

Today will be mostly cloudy 🌥, with a high of 37 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 23rd. South wind 3 to 6 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 14 degrees. A little warmer today for sure although hardly warm. The record high of 58 was set in 1913. 6.9 inches of snow fell back in 2000.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:09 pm with sun having an altitude of 29.9Β° from the due south horizon (-40.9Β° vs. 6/21). Almost thirty. The golden hour 🏅 starts at 4:25 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (240Β°). 📸 The sunset is in the west-southwest (247Β°) starting at 5:04 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 10 seconds with dusk around 5:36 pm, which is one minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter 🌓 Moon in the south (191Β°) at an altitude of 54Β° from the horizon, 250,241 miles away. 🚀 Pretty high over head. YThe best time to look at the stars is after 6:11 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies ☁ and temperatures around 35 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 56 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 18 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 29 degrees at 5am. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 24th. I’ll take it. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to -8 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1920.

Tomorrow will have a slight chance of snow showers before noon, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy 🌦, with a high of 37 degrees at 1pm. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 23rd. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 18 degrees. The record high of 65 was set in 1989. 15 inches of snow fell back in 1898.❄

I am thinking of giving Big Red a bath 🛀 tomorrow and picking up groceries. 🏪 I won’t forget my baggies. I still need to get pan spray 🍳 as I ran out of time after my dentist appointment yesterday. 🦷 It was totally pointless for me to have driven to the dentist when I could have have taken the bus 🚍 but I didn’t expect the cleaning to as quick as it was.

Looking ahead to Sunday, a slight chance of snow before 10am, then a slight chance of rain and snow between 10am and 1pm, then a slight chance of rain after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Light west wind becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Typical average high for the weekend is 32 degrees.

🌹🌻🌼Only 48 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Valentines Day ❀️ when the sun will be setting at 5:25 pm with dusk at 5:54 pm. On that day in 2019, we had snow showers, partly cloudy and temperatures between 37 and 26 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 34 degrees. We hit a record high of 63 back in 1946.
