November 18, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Two weeks to Cyber Monday 🛍️. Cloudy and 30 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a north-northwest breeze at 7 mph. 🍃. It looks like we’ve missed the freezing rain here but according to the Facebook it’s bad out in Rennselearville. Things will start to thaw out at around 9 am. 🌡️

Kind of a dark and gray morning but at least the roads and sidewalks are dry β˜” and it’s not super cold. Even with the heat turned down, I was plenty comfortable in my bedroom. I probably stayed up too late working on my blog code but when I get coding time flies by. Great way to past the long winter nights and bitterly cold days we sometimes have.

Today will have a slight chance of freezing drizzle before 10am, then a chance of drizzle. Cloudy ☁, with a high of 35 degrees at 1pm. 12 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 17th. North wind around 8 mph. I guess it won’t matter once I’m in the dungeon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became light snow by afternoon. The high last year was 37 degrees. The record high of 71 was set in 1928. 9.0 inches of snow fell back in 1980.❄ Before my time by a few years.

The sun will set at 4:30 pm with dusk around 5:01 pm, which is 49 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for rain showers 🌧 and temperatures around 35 degrees. There will be a north-northwest breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 40 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 3 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will rain and sleet before 3am, then rain between 3am and 4am, then rain and sleet after 4am. 🌧 Low of 33 degrees at 6pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around November 12th. North wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2018, we had light snow in the evening, which became mist by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 32 degrees. The record low of 12 occurred back in 1972.

Tomorrow it’s bright and early 🌄 to drop off Big Red for his state inspection 🚘, oil change and tire rotation and then to work. With my earlier shift now, I have to make sure to leave before 7:30 tomorrow, so it’s early to bed. I’m hoping the roads will be fine, so far the forecast looks fine.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. πŸ˜• Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 41. Sunday, a chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Typical average high for the weekend is 45 degrees.

This weekend it looks like I might finally get to the Adirondacks for at least one night 🌃 if the forecast remains true. Or I might wait until Thanksgiving weekend assuming that I have that Friday off and the weather is decent.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Cyber Monday 🛍️ when the sun will be setting at 4:22 pm with dusk at 4:54 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 41 and 26 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 41 degrees. We hit a record high of 66 back in 1998.
