August 21, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Five weeks to More Night then Day 🌌. Mostly cloudy and 67 degrees in Delmar. ☁ This morning is another one of those somewhat hazy days probably from the western wild fires. That and we are supposed to get rain later this evening. There is a south-southeast breeze at 7 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 60 degrees. The skies will clear around 9 am.

This is a pretty decent morning, I woke up fairly early after a good nights rest. After petting my neighbors dog, 🐩 walked down to the Park and RIde, and caught the express bus downtown. Traffic was fairly light today. Made good time into the office.

Today will have a slight chance of showers after 3pm. Increasing clouds ☁, with a high of 78 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 65 at 5pm. South wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies. It was humid. The high last year was 85 degrees. The record high of 98 was set in 1916.

The sun will set at 7:47 pm with dusk around 8:16 pm, which is one minute and 34 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for rain showers, cloudy skies ☁ and 76 degrees. The dew point will be 66 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 14 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 37 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 38 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm.β˜” Low of 68 degrees at 4am. Nine degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 68 at 3am. πŸ–οΈ South wind 14 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2017, we had mostly clear skies. It was sticky. It got down to 68 degrees. The record low of 39 occurred back in 1982.

Tuesday at least at the close of business is pay day which is a good thing. πŸ€‘While I don’t run my non interest bearing checking account as low as I once did I still don’t have a lot of money of extra since paying the rent and retiring the vacation debt. Not that I plan to spend much money this week, but at some point I will have to go shopping before going camping this next weekend.

Still don’t know if I will get Friday off, πŸ• but if I have Friday off I’ve decided to drive up and paddle Cedar River Flow then camp in the Plains, otherwise I will go up to Piseco-Powley Road on Friday and then down to Moss Island on Saturday. If Labor Day Weekend is nice I might head back up there again or maybe somewhere outside of Wells and Speculator.

On this day in 1959, United States President Dwight D. Eisenhower signs an executive order proclaiming Hawaii the 50th state of the union. πŸ—½ I guess that makes Barack Obama a US Citizen. End of debate on that one, although I am sure the current incumbent in the White House will not agree. After all the truth has different versions.

One month πŸ“… from now the Average High will be 70 πŸŽ‘ when the sun will be setting at 6:53 pm with dusk at 7:21 pm. The record high is 98 in 1916.
