"His name is Charles. Have you seen him?"
"Why the complaint involving the presidentβs foundation is a road map for Mueller."
Thirty-nine years ago tonight, President Jimmy Carter offered these remarks on television:
"In the year 2000, the solar water heater behind me, which is being dedicated today, will still be here supplying cheap, efficient energy. A generation from now, this solar heater can either be a curiosity, a museum piece, an example of a road not taken, or it can be just a small part of one of the greatest and most exciting adventures ever undertaken by the American people: harnessing the power of the Sun to enrich our lives as we move away from our crippling dependence on foreign oil."
"As President, I am determined that America will move toward the solar age with effectiveness and determination, with excitement, high spirits, and with confidence. Therefore, I dedicate, this afternoon, this solar heater, harnessing the rays of the Sun to the benefit of those who serve our country at the White House, with the faith that American technology will meet challenges that lie ahead and that we will build a more self-reliant and a more secure nation for the generations to come. "
Good morning! What day is it? The final scheduled day of session, of course. Hah! Two weeks to Independence Day 🇺🇸. Partly cloudy and 61 degrees in Delmar, NY. A lot of high clouds this morning. Calm wind. The dew point is 53 degrees.
Got home at a half hour after midnight from work, and was asleep well before one. 💤 Honestly I didn’t think it was a bad drive home, not much traffic and not a dark night. 🌃 Taking the bus is this morning, as I don’t think tonight will go past eleven thirty but if looks like that later on I’ll go home and get Big Red or make alternative arrangements.🚍 It’s almost easier that way than driving in on the morning, finding a parking spot than moving Big Red later on. I doubt I’ll make it to the Save the Pine Bush dinner tonight. 🍛 I’m a bit disappointed about that as the speaker on Community Choice Aggregation might have been interesting. I think it has something about communities buying renewable energy in bulk but I don’t know anything about it. β²
Today will be partly sunny 🌞 , with a high of 79 degrees at 3pm. Typical for today. Soon the average high will be eighty. Maximum dew point of 54 at 10am. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies. The high last year was 80 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1953.
The sun will set at 8:36 pm with dusk around 9:11 pm, which is 15 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for partly clear skies and 73 degrees. The dew point will be 55 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 6 mph. Should be a pleasant evening. Today will have 15 hours and 19 minutes of daytime, an increase of 3 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be partly cloudy β, with a low of 57 degrees at 5am. One degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 55 at 7pm. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2017, we had partly cloudy skies. It got down to 60 degrees. The record low of 41 occurred back in 1970.
The weekend forecast keeps sliding down hill. β Maybe it will improve but I’m not hopeful. Well, I was planning on going to the Save the Pine Bush Hike so the Adirondacks 🗻 were never seriously in the cards.
As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Independence Day 🇺🇸 when the sun will be setting at 8:36 pm with dusk at 9:10 pm. On that day in 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 82 and 56 degrees. Still ducking horse shit that it’s a Wednesday this year. Typically, the high temperature is 82 degrees. We hit a record high of 104 back in 1911.
