April 13, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Happy Friday April 13th! Two weeks to Arbor Day 🌳. Trees are always nice to have and when burnt keep you warm.🔥 Good insulation helps too. Don’t worry, be happy it’s a Friday.👽I actually can’t believe it came this fast, it seems like it was just Friday night and I was drinking beer at Brew on Lark. Hopefully that’s a a sign that spring is coming. 🌼🌻🌷

Mostly cloudy and 45 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a west-northwest breeze at 9 mph. 🍃. The skies will clear around 7 pm.

Kind of a dark day, but at least it’s mild. I’ll probably have to turn the lights πŸ’‘ on in the office when I get there, although I like having it dark so I can see how it he reflections of my VMS clock. Plus it gives it that creepy office look.

Today will have a slight chance of showers after 9am. Mostly cloudy ☁, with a high of 57 degrees at 5pm. Typical for today. The cold spell has broken. Maximum dew point of 47 at 5pm. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies. The high last year was 60 degrees. The record high of 87 was set in 1977. 5.5 inches of snow fell back in 1950.❄

I decided to open a few windows a crack this morning for the fresh air. 🔳 I could use some fresh air as I have a minor nose 👃and eye 👀cold that is leaving both things a bit irritated. Not terrible but what I often have in damp weather.

The sun will set at 7:35 pm with dusk around 8:04 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies β›… and 54 degrees. The dew point will be 47 degrees. There will be a north-northeast breeze at 6 mph. Might actually be the first pleasant evening of the year . Today will have 13 hours and 19 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 47 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ☁, with a low of 43 degrees at 6am. Six degrees above normal. North wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. In 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies. It got down to 33 degrees. The record low of 19 occurred back in 1973.

My new credit card arrived and I used it for the first time at Stewart’s to buy milk. 🍶Seemed to work just fine and now I have milk for my coffee which makes me happy.

I’m kind of interested to see how it counts the cash back rewards. 3% on gas, 2% on groceries, 1% on everything after you pay $5 worth of credits each month.🎫 They aren’t as good as the advertisements suggest due to the fine print but the card has autopay and a good website and I’m bound to use it a lot for gasoline and I groceries as those are primary expenses for me.

The LL Bean card I’ve had for over a decade is fine but I don’t buy much from there so half of the time the rewards expire. I’m not really into their products but mom said u should get their card and I like their website. I was going to get a Dick’s Sporting Goods card but I don’t shop there anymore due to their radical leftist position on the second amendment and because they always fuck up my gun purchases.

Not sure how they calculate each category on my new card – they only have merchants name – so does Stewarts milk count as gasoline or Walmart groceries count as grocery? 💸I know I’m am only talking about a few bucks a month but with my budget as tight as it is every penny counts. That said, I put 90% of my purchases on plastic as I hate dealing with change and like to be able to review my purchases at the end of the month.

I plan tonight to start working on assembling the next board for my next clock. First I have to solder the pins on another Arduino Nano and then the pin headers on the board then the fun of soldering all those 28 guage wires to connect the various components. 🔬 I think I’m getting better at soldering or at least at planning out boards so I’m not making a total mess while resolderimg the board.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Arbor Day 🌳 when the sun will be setting at 7:51 pm with dusk at 8:22 pm. On that day in 2017, we had cloudy skies and temperatures between 73 and 57 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 63 degrees. We hit a record high of 91 back in 1962.
