Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Mostly sunny and 33 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west-northwest breeze at 6 mph. 🍃. A rather cool morning today, I had the heat turned on before bed which helped a bunch in my apartment but it’s turned off again this morning.😩 I’m hoping I can leave it off for the rest of the week, as I need to save money wherever possible to make my budget.
It might be another cold morning today but the truth is that the cold weather isn’t as cold as it once was. 😮Weather in the 60s for Friday the 13th. At some point it will warm even more as often by the third or fourth week of April there is quite a bit of green popping up around Albany. Looking forward to camping in the Adirondacks either the last week of April or the first week of May. 🎣Then maybe a mid May trip to do some fishing on Madison County.
Taking the earlier bus into work, 🚍because I have a busy day on tap for this Monday at work. I do think I still will be able to make the express bus home though. If I got better at getting off my ass I could start taking the express once again but that hasn’t happened in a while.
Today will be mostly sunny 🌞 , with a high of 44 degrees at 3pm. 11 degrees below normal. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies with more clouds in the afternoon. The high last year was 70 degrees. The record high of 77 was set in 1991. 13.3 inches of snow fell back in 2000.β
The sun will set at 7:31 pm with dusk around 8:00 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies β and 41 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 8 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 49 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy β , with a low of 27 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees below normal. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies with some clearing in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 50 degrees. The record low of 21 occurred back in 1974.
I’m watching the great Facebook and email debate over Aerobic Digester that the county wants to build to replace their fifty year old sewage sludge incinerator. 🚽 I’m watching but I’m not going to take much of a view one way or another. I’m not planning to live in New York State for that many more years, so I don’t take much of an interest in local politics besides maybe going out on Saturday to volunteer with the Young Democrats. 🐴Ask me and I’m all for properly designed out houses, compost piles and burn barrels and saving scrap metal for recycling. Off grid living out in the country.
Definitely enjoying the bright sun pouring through the bus windows heading downtown.😎 Cold yes but at least I won’t need the lights when I get into the office and I have my sweater vest on to stay warm should the heat not be on much in the office.
Yesterday when I awoke I saw that my phone chewed through 700 megabytes or data when I slept. I think it was the podcast app but it’s not supposed to be downloading podcasts over the data network. 📲 Not happy about that, so I’m trying to use less data over the next few days. πΏ Nothing I can do about that but I’ll just have to make sure that I turn off the data network before bed. Now with ten gigabytes a month I rarely run out of data but this month may be close and I risk being throttled which ducks🐦 for the remainder of the the month.
Looking ahead, there are 7 weeks until Memorial Day 🇺🇸 when the sun will be setting at 8:23 pm with dusk at 8:57 pm. On that day in 2017, we had cloudy skies and temperatures between 74 and 60 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 73 degrees. We hit a record high of 93 way back in 2016. It was nice swimming in Grout Pond that year.
