June 5, 2017 8 AM Update

We have a brief interruption in the rain with temperatures around 62. Sixty seven or maybe sixty nine later. Watch out for heavy downpours come afternoon. I did bring my umbrella but with the constant wind downtown, umbrellas are of very limited use. I guess we won’t have to worry about a drought for a while.

While the bus is already rerouted around Delmar Trafficgettian, I’m sure one of these days the town will start tearing up Delaware Avenue and causing misery for thousands. I guess it’s better then a water main failing unexpectedly and causing all kinds of problems.

Caught the earlier local bus in so that I will be to work by nine, as I have a busy day on tap. It will hopefully go by quickly because I’m hoping for nice weather for the weekend. At some point the rain will stop. Or maybe not.

The sun will set at 8:30 pm with dusk around 9:04 pm, which is 40 seconds later than yesterday. At sunset, look for light rain and conditions and 61 degrees. The dew point will be 57 degrees. There will be a east-southeast breeze at 10 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 11 minutes of daytime, an increase of 59 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have showers likely. Cloudy, with a low of 54 degrees at 2am. Typical for tonight. Maximum dew point of 58 at 6pm. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. In 2016, it got down to 59 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. The record low of 38 occurred back in 1971.

Looking ahead, there are 8 weeks until Mutts Day when the sun will be setting at 8:16 pm with dusk at 8:47 pm. On that day in 2016, we had rain, drizzle, fog, mist, cloudy skies and temperatures between 71 and 63 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 82 degrees. We hit a record high of 98 back in 1917.

One day closer until summer. Make it a good one!

June 5, 2017 Morning

Good morning! Let’s grab that bull by its horns on this Monday morning.  Light rain and 56 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a southeast breeze at 6 mph. The dew point is 54 degrees. Some tain today. The skies will clear Wednesday around 11 pm. Then getting warm for the weekend. Saturday still doesn’t look that great but that could change.

Today will have a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Cloudy, with a high of 67 degrees at 2pm. Eight degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 60 at 1pm. Southeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had rain, fog, mist, cloudy skies and a high of 71 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1925.
