Below that rock wall is a "spring box" that collects water that is washing down the bank of the hill, on a layer of clay. As you can see from a previous photo, it works quite effectively.

This is a new spring that is located where the old sheepwatering bathtub used to be unused. Now you can use it to refill your water bottle.

The other day I happened to be heading out this way, so I took a five mile detour to visit Texas on NY 104A. So I've been Texas, and they don't have much there, besides a BBQ place selling Texas Red Hots (ever so fitting).
