September 3, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Next Thursday is 6:30 Sunrise πŸŒ‡. Days are rapidly getting shorter now than September is underway. Partly cloudy and 69 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… Calm wind. The dew point is 62 degrees.

Almost ready to leave after work for the Green Mountains. πŸ—» It should be a nice weekend or so. Not totally sure when I’ll be back home 🏑 but I am packing clothes for five nights. A lot depends on how things go up at camp and how the ice holds up. I guess I don’t mind making a trip for ice but I don’t want have to do it more than once and I’m sure there will be Zoom Meetings next week. πŸ“Ή

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 80 degrees at 4pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around August 23rd. Maximum dew point of 62 at 9am. Light and variable wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 79 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1953.

The plan is to work today, go to the Zoom Meetings πŸ“Ή and leave at five o’clock πŸ•“ and head to the Green Mountains for a few days. I have a bunch of numbers πŸ”’ crunch and other things to get done by before leaving.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:56 pm with sun having an altitude of 54.7Β° from the due south horizon (-16.1Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.2 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 6:50 pm with the sun in the west (275Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west (281Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:27 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 57 seconds with dusk around 7:54 pm, which is one minute and 43 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:31 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies πŸŒƒ and temperatures around 75 degrees. The dew point will be 62 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 2 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 47 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have isolated showers and thunderstorms between 10pm and midnight. Mostly cloudy 🌀, with a low of 61 degrees at 4am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around August 13th. Maximum dew point of 62 at 6pm. South wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became thunderstorm by the early hours of the morning. It became humid as the night progressed. It got down to 59 degrees. The record low of 37 occurred back in 1946.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. 😎 Saturday, sunny, with a high near 73. West wind 5 to 15 mph. Maximum dew point of 52 at 8am. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Maximum dew point of 55 at 1pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 76 degrees.
