September 12, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Today is the first 6:30 Sunrise πŸŒ‡. Three weeks to Last Sunset After 7 PM πŸŒ†. Days are getting noticeably shorter. Light drizzle and 60 degrees in Delmar, NY. β˜” There is a north breeze at 8 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 55 degrees. The skies will clear around 7 pm.

I was going to take the express to work 🚍 but I was running a little late late, so I am taking the local in. I have a stack of books πŸ“š to return to the library today so maybe it was best not to walk down to the express. 🚢

I actually walked down to the library πŸ“™ last night but forgot to bring the books to the library. That’s fine, I’ll just drop them off at the Albany library downtown. I also went for my evening walk last night before retiring into bed fairly early after seeing that my credit payment cleared for August. Seemed high but included vacation expenses. πŸ’΅ November will also be a big month for credit card expenses after my October road trip. I guess food and fuel β›½ isn’t that much of strain on the budget but everything is always so tight for me.

Today will have scattered showers. Cloudy 🌦, with a high of 63 degrees at 8am. 11 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 7th. It seems like we have lot of cloudy and damp days in October. 🍁Maximum dew point of 56 at 11am. North wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had light drizzle in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. It was sticky. The high last year was 74 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 1947.

The sun will set at 7:11 pm with dusk around 7:39 pm, which is one minute and 47 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for possible rain showers 🌧 and temperatures around 57 degrees. The dew point will be 51 degrees. There will be a north-northwest breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 39 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

I’m heading over to John Wolcott house after work πŸ“‚ so I left the light on at home so I can see to unlock the door when I get home with the earlier sunset. The LED bulb πŸ’‘ is on a light sensor but it may be dark enough today it will probably be on most of the day.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear ☁, with a low of 49 degrees at 4am. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 22nd. North wind 3 to 7 mph. In 2018, we had light rain in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It was sticky. It got down to 68 degrees. The record low of 37 occurred back in 1964.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. πŸ˜• Saturday, a chance of showers, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. South wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Maximum dew point of 61 at 8pm. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Maximum dew point of 59 at 6am. Typical average high for the weekend is 73 degrees.

They were talking about how all the leading candidates for president are of the geriatric set, today on the radio πŸ“». You would think that they would be able to recruit somebody who isn’t a million years old πŸ‘΄ and should be enjoying their final years on the beach somewhere. I know if I was that age I’d be doing something useful with my life rather than working in some stuffy office building 🏒 downtown.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Last Sunset After 7 PM πŸŒ† when the sun will be setting at 6:34 pm with dusk at 7:02 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny, patches of fog and temperatures between 65 and 50 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 65 degrees. We hit a record high of 83 back in 1967.
