Good morning! I’m Happy, it’s the start of my Summer Vacation after work ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿฟ! Going to be a hot one to-day but once the coolers are packed I’ll be on my way after work. Six weeks to Labor Day Weekend Begins ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿญ. Then reality sets in. But first some hot weather. Mostly cloudy and 74 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a south-southeast breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 67 degrees. But it will get hot later on. The skies will clear around 10 am.

The plan is to be on the road by six-ish and out to Brookfield well before dark. I’m a bit concerned about severe weather driving out there but if I have to pull off due to blinding rain and wait out the storm so be it. ๐Ÿ’ฆI have a small bag of leftover kiln-dried firewood ๐Ÿ”ฅif I decide to have a fire but it might be too hot for that. I want to get an early start tomorrow from Brookfield, I packed cereal so after my coffee โ˜• I hope to be on the road by 8 am before the heat hits then stop briefly at the Montezuma winery ๐Ÿท and get a few bottles for mom and then head down to Taughannock State Park to swim ๐ŸŠ in Cayuga Lake before heading up to the National Forest, hanging up a hammock and drifting asleep to the mooing of the cows. ๐Ÿฎ

Today will be partly sunny and hot ๐Ÿ”ฅโ˜€, with a high of 93 degrees at 4pm. 10 degrees above normal. But that’s not the whole story. Maximum dew point of 72 at 12pm. Heat index values as high as 101. Don’t let the ice melt in your beer ๐Ÿป cooler. South wind 6 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 83 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1904. I’m not sure if we will break the record set downtown 116 beers ago.

The sun will set at 8:28 pm with dusk around 9:01 pm, which is 46 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 86 degrees. The dew point will be 73 degrees. The heat index around sunset will be 73. โ›ฑ There will be a west breeze at 13 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 53 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 40 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have isolated showers and thunderstorms between 9pm and 2am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 74 degrees at 4am. 12 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 73 at 7pm. West wind 5 to 13 mph becoming south after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 57 degrees. The record low of 49 occurred back in 1974.

On this day, there was the Great New York City Fire of 1845: ๐Ÿ”ฅ The last great fire to affect Manhattan began early in the morning and was subdued that afternoon. The fire killed 4 firefighters, 26 civilians, and destroyed 345 buildings. Always be careful with matches, in densely packed urban areas with lots of wooden buildings. In Manhattan, Penna just don’t tick your neighbors off by burning too much plastic. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Hah.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny and hot ๐Ÿ”ฅโ˜€, with a high of 96 degrees at 2pm. 13 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 74 at 6pm. Heat index values as high as 106. Won’t be that hot in the Finger Lakes and Cayuga Lake might be downright cold โ„. Remember snow, it’s coming, enjoy the hot weather. Light west wind increasing to 8 to 13 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 88 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1991.

Looking ahead to Sunday, scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny and hot ๐Ÿ”ฅโ˜€, with a high near 95. West wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Maximum dew point of 73 at 8am. Typical average high for the weekend is 83 degrees.

I’m going to play it day by day โ›บ but I have ambitious plans for the week if the weather is nice, which I’m hoping it will be by the latest models. โ˜€ Should be nice swimming ๐ŸŠ with the hot weather for the first half of the week, the only really bad day so far on the forecast is Monday with some rain but then sun balls and a lot cooler for the second half of the week. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Sleepy for the fourth

July 18, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Two weeks to August ๐ŸŒป. Clouds and a few rain showers and 75 degrees in Bethlehem, NY. โ˜” I doubt that I needed a rain coat but I figured be safe rather than sorry. There is a north breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 68 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 9 am. Going to be super hot tomorrow. But my vacation starts then and I can always use the air conditioning while driving out there, followed by cold beverages and a fan to stay cool and maybe laying back on the hammock.

I overslept this morning as it’s pretty dark and gray. โ˜ It was raining fairly hard early on. I got up at eight AM and had to dig around for my phone. ๐Ÿ“ฑ I did find it. I think I turned my alarm โฐ off for Independence Day and didn’t notice it last week because the sun was up fairly early as it was sunny.

Today will be scattered showers, mainly before 3pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 81 degrees at 2pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around August 10th. Reminds us that summer won’t last forever. Maximum dew point of 69 at 2pm. North wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 82 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1953. It’s going to be warm this weekend but not 1950s warm. People ask how I love without air conditioning, I ask how did people do it during the 1950s when it was truly rare.

The sun will set at 8:29 pm with dusk around 9:02 pm, which is 45 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 77 degrees. The dew point will be 68 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 54 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 38 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have isolated showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 67 degrees at 5am. Five degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 68 at 6pm. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 55 degrees. The record low of 47 occurred back in 1875.

Today is the 200th Day of Year. Only 165 days remain. Then it will be 2020, the start of the third decade of the 21st century. ๐ŸŒŸ The future is ahead, that’s all there is to say. But first vacation starting tomorrow.

I want to see if I can hook up the ignitor on the new camp stove burner ๐Ÿ”ฅ tonight, along with doing the bulk of packing for vacation. I also need to run to laundromat, dollar store and grocery. I plan to do whatever packing I can tonight and will pack the coolers and propane when I leave home after work tomorrow. Not going to bring a lot of food, just enough for Friday and maybe Saturday and will buy what I need come Sunday.

On this day in 1969, Senator Ted Kennedy from Massachusetts drives his car off a bridge and his passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, dies. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ And in 1984, there were McDonald’s massacre in San Ysidro, California: In a fast-food restaurant, James Oliver Huberty opens fire, killing 21 people and injuring 19 others before being shot dead by police. ๐Ÿ”ซAfter that, California implemented strict new gun control in that state, and there have been no more mass shootings. Thank God for the California legislature keeping safe.

Going to be a nice, hot summer weekend. ๐ŸŠ Saturday, isolated showers and thunderstorms before 8am, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Maximum dew point of 74 at 7am. Sunday, scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny and hot, with a high near 92. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Maximum dew point of 72 at 8am. Typical average high for the weekend is 83 degrees.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until August ๐ŸŒป when the sun will be setting at 8:15 pm with dusk at 8:47 pm. On that day in 2018, we had rain and temperatures between 80 and 70 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 82 degrees. We hit a record high of 101 back in 1933.

Tirnell Mountain

July 16, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Last Sunset After 8:30 PM ๐ŸŒ†! Five weeks to World Mosquito Day ๐Ÿž. You mean it’s not already mosquito day? More like horse fly day! Partly cloudy and 64 degrees in Delmar. โ›… Calm wind. The dew point is 58 degrees. Enjoy the nice weather for now the humidity is going to climb throughout the day.

Caught the local bus into the office ๐Ÿš mainly because I didn’t get moving really fast this morning. I also didn’t get to bed early enough. Tomorrow I’ll try to get an earlier start. I’ve just not been feeling all that great this morning. At least the bus is really cold.

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 88 degrees at 4pm. Five degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 66 at 6pm. Hot and humid. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which exploded into thunderstorms by afternoon. It was humid. The high last year was 96 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1900.

This afternoon I’m heading over to John Wolcott house ๐Ÿ“‚ and then probably tomorrow night one more evening working on the Pine Bush ๐ŸŒฒproject. I’m thinking again about leaving Friday night for vacation but I’ll probably leave from home after work as I don’t want the ice to melt before Sunday. I think it’s going to be one of those years that I use a lot of ice camping. โ›บ

The sun will set at 8:30 pm with dusk around 9:04 pm, which is 41 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for watch for thunderstorms ๐ŸŒฉ and temperatures around 82 degrees. The muggers will be back. The dew point will be 67 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 57 minutes of daytime, an decrease of one minute and 32 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 70 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 68 at 1am. Southeast wind 3 to 5 mph. I think tonight I may need to fire up the fan. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2018, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It was very sticky. It got down to 69 degrees. The record low of 45 occurred back in 1974.

In 1956, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus closes its very last “Big Tent” show in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, due to changing economics all subsequent circus shows will be held in arenas. ๐ŸŽช Plus there was that big fire in Hartford Big Tent circus that didn’t sell the public on big tent circuses. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Now the only thing in tents is fireworks dealers and car dealers when their show rooms are being renovated. They probably use asbestos or nowadays DECA and similar less toxic chemicals in their tents.

A hot and humid weekend is coming up. โ˜€ Saturday, mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 93. Maximum dew point of 73 at 7am. Sunday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 91. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Maximum dew point of 70 at 6am. Doesn’t get much hotter and humid on the weekends. Typical average high for the weekend is 83 degrees.

Looking ahead, there are 5 weeks until World Mosquito Day ๐Ÿž when the sun will be setting at 7:49 pm with dusk at 8:18 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 80 and 60 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 80 degrees. We hit a record high of 97 back in 1937.

Summer evening

July 12, 2019 Morning

Good morning folks! Y’all know what day today is. Next Friday is when I leave for Summer vacation after work, assuming the weather is decent and I’m ready to go. ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿฟ. Eight nights in the woods, where I make my own rules, have fires and relax. I’d say it’s cloudy, humid and 71 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Going to warmer as the day progresses. There is a west breeze at 5 mph ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 68 degrees. Perfect weather for the muggers. The skies will clear around 11 am.

Walked down to the express bus ๐Ÿš and the air conditioning sure feels nice. โ„ Not warm enough to turn the fan on in my bedroom but definitely feels a tad bit muggy. ๐Ÿšฆ Hitting all the traffic lights heading downtown today. Traffic also was a bit backed up going through the Empire Plaza, but I’m not in that much of a rush to get to work.

I had lots of black percolator coffee this morning, โ˜• cold because it’s been so warm. It was very strong, and it woke me up right away. I also made waffles up. Of course all that coffee cleared me out well, ๐Ÿšฝ which is probably good for gut health or something like that. I heard that they have fresh local sweet corn, ๐ŸŒฝ and despite the advice from the Internet Gut Doctorโ„ข always advertising, I am looking forward to having some this weekend.

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 82 degrees at 3pm. Typical for today. Figures. Maximum dew point of 68 at 9am. Slight drop in the humidity as the day progresses, but still pretty warm come the afternoon.West wind 5 to 15 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 85 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 1935.

The sun will set at 8:33 pm with dusk around 9:06 pm, which is 32 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 75 degrees. The dew point will be 64 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 10 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 3 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 19 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 63 degrees at 4am. One degree above normal. Maximum dew point of 65 at 6pm. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. In 2018, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 61 degrees. The record low of 45 occurred back in 1939.

Tomorrow will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 88 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 64 at 6pm. West wind around 7 mph. Hot and humid, should be nice out in old Schoharie County. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 88 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 1894.

The plan is to get a fairly early start tomorrow, head out on NY 990V through the Northern Catskills, pack a lunch, ๐Ÿ›ฃ hike around Mine Kill Falls, then go for a swim for the bulk of the day at Mine Kill Park. Camp overnight somewhere at Burnt-Rossman, then do some fishing and hiking on Sunday, which should be nicer of the two days, at least weather wise. Should be downright pleasant by afternoon, maybe a bit chilly with the breeze and the rapidly dropping humidity. I heard sweet corn is now being sold locally, so I may be buy some and have it with burgers ๐Ÿ” up at camp.

Looking ahead to Sunday, mostly sunny ๐Ÿ˜Ž, with a high near 82. West wind 7 to 15 mph. Maximum dew point of 62 at 6am. Less humid by mid afternoon. Typical average high for the weekend is 83 degrees. Going to be a real nice day, but as I was noting earlier, in the somewhat cooler weather of the Northern Catskills with that breeze, it might be cool swimming.

Tonight I’ll install the replacement burner in the camp stove. ๐Ÿ”ฅ I expect it will work well. For my vacation I’m going to pick up an inexpensive table cloth probably at the dollar store so I don’t have to look at the scratched and patched up camp table and it looks cleaner. I figure it the cheap table cloth doesn’t last it can be burnt and I can get another.

Vacation will be upon my before I know it, โ›บ so I should continue to get ready. That said I don’t expect that I have to do a lot, but if I want to get that camping permit, today is the day to do it. I should see if I can just find the old permit from seven years ago, and have the PA DCNR update it. ๐Ÿ—’ If not, I might just camp more in New York or Allegheny National Forest but I’d like to spend some time in Pennsyltucky.

On this day in 1967, the Newark Riots begin with over six days of rioting, looting, and destruction leaving 26 dead. ๐Ÿ˜ก Fortunately we aren’t worrying about that anymore, everybody’s just talking about immigration. I guess I should be more concerned, but that doesn’t really apply that much to me.

As previously noted, next Friday is Summer Vacation ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿฟ when the sun will be setting at 8:28 pm with dusk at 9:01 pm. On that day in 2018, we had sunny skies, patches of fog and temperatures between 83 and 55 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 83 degrees. We hit a record high of 97 back in 1904.

Feet Up

Living with little waste

Besides generating most of my electricity on site from renewable sources, one of my goals when I own my off-grid home is to manage as much of my waste on site in an environmental sustainable fashion and make less than one trip a year to the transfer station. This would not only save upwards of $400 a year in disposal costs ($33/month), it would keep a lot of waste out of landfill, and save money by avoiding unnecessary products I later have to dispose of on or off the farm.

Full Dumpster

Buy less, avoid unnecessary products

The most important strategy in my book to avoiding waste is avoid buying unnecessary products. There is so many cheap frivolous products but they’re both a drain on finances and the environment.

Apparently The Best Grass Is On The Trail

Feed livestock with food scraps

When I own land I want to be a to produce some of my own food. Producing your own food avoids packaging and you can bury the guts on your own land, feeding the soil. Hogs make good bacon and pork, they can be partially fed from food scraps and garden vegatable waste. Chickens likewise can eat many of those wastes and produce eggs and meat.

Compost Pile

Compost

Most vegetables, leaves, manure and other organic matter can be composted and turned into rich soil. Many of the things good for compost don’t burn well as they have a lot of moisture and it seems a waste to be dumping organic matter into the air with fire or producing unnecessary carbon emissions.

Steel

Scrap metal

Metals don’t burn and they are good to recycle. Separating out aluminum cans and tin cans for a yearly trip to the scrap metal yard or recycling center is an environmentally responsible activity and might even few a bucks. Likewise broken down machinery can be sold for scrap. If I can’t use it, I might as well get a few bucks for it and return it to the vast material industry for scrapping.

Burn Baby Burn

Burn

Almost everything you buy in the store today is packaged in paper, cardboard or plastic. These materials – often linked with plastics – can take a long time to break down in nature unless they are burned. Fortunately as witnessed by the large number of rural households and farms with burn barrels in states without regulations prohibiting them, most ordinary household trash burns. Add some scrap wood, maybe some increased ventilation and you got a hot fire that isn’t particularly noxious. I would keep my burn barrels down wind of my cabin in a place where I can monitor them and have garbage cans to store waste until the weather is safe for burning.

Landfill Fence, Methane Pump

Transfer station

As a last resort there is always a trip to the transfer station for wastes that can’t be reused or disposed on site. My goal would be at my off-grid property to do this less than once a year and really try to use the landfill option as last resort, mostly using it for recycling of glass, e-waste or other materials that lack an environmentally responsible way to dispose of on-site, which can’t be avoided by careful choices when shopping.

Moose River Plains Upgrades

A decade ago Moose River Plains was a lot more diapolated than it is now it seems. While the state had invested in some of the accessible features like the new improved accessible trails to Helldiver, Icehouse, and Mitchells Pond, and the accessible campsites most of the other campsites had fallen into disrepair with outhouses and picnic tables falling apart if they existed at all.

Campsite on Moose River Plains road

In more recent years the situation has improved enormously. Most of the drive in campsites have new outhouses, fire places have largely been replaced as have picnic tables. While the original infrastructure of the Plains held up well for fifty years – much of it from the late 1960s and early 1970s, use and abuse meant it needed to be upgraded.

Untitled [Expires August 4 2024]

I’ve heard that many of the upgrades were in part done by volunteers and not the Division of Operations. But regardless, they still make for a nice area to visit and enjoy. Having a picnic table and outhouse at nearly every site is a good improvement for sure.

July 10, 2019 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? Hump Day, of course. Going to be hot later or so I’m told by Mr. NOAA and his brave men and women based on their fancy computer models. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Three weeks to my Teeth Cleaning Day ๐Ÿ˜„Clean teeth are important. Now, I just need to schedule a physical ๐Ÿ˜ท and get my tetanus booster. ๐Ÿ’‰ Partly sunny and 69 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. โ˜€ Calm wind. The dew point is 57 degrees. Nice morning, enjoyed my walk down to the bus.๐Ÿš

Today will be mostly sunny and hot โ˜€, with a high of 91 degrees at 5pm. But maybe not too ungodly humid? Muggers won’t be that active today. They’re lurking in their dark corners for tomorrow. Nine degrees above normal. It’s called summer time, the hottest time of the year starts Friday, the first sunset before 8:30 is on Tuesday. Maximum dew point of 60 at 11am. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became mostly sunny by afternoon. It became sticky as the day progressed. The high last year was 92 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1936.

The sun will set at 8:34 pm with dusk around 9:08 pm, which is 28 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 84 degrees. The dew point will be 62 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 15 hours and 6 minutes of daytime, an decrease of one minute and 12 seconds over yesterday.

This evening, I have another Save the Pine Bush event ๐Ÿฆ‹ to go to, namely the Guilderland Town Planning meeting over that Rapp Road development. Should be an interesting meeting, and hopefully the building will be well air conditioned. I might go for a hike after the meeting, although more likely then not, I’ll end up going to another meeting with the Pine Bush folks probably at a dinner. โ˜•

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 69 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 65 at 11pm. Light south wind. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 63 degrees. The record low of 48 occurred back in 1986.

I saw another one of my fellow high schoolers bought a house. ๐Ÿก In Upstate New York of all places. Seems like I’m getting to the age where everyone’s buying property, while I’m just buying stocks and bonds. Based on the numbers I’ve seen, renting my run down apartment, walking around town and taking the bus ๐Ÿš to work and investing I still come out ahead.ย  If I owned land, I’d probably get in trouble for burning shit I shouldn’t be be. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I don’t live in Pennsylvania, where people burn everything from couches ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ and old buildings on-down.๐Ÿš Eventually when I am a little more financially secure, don’t have family anymore nearby, and I will move to a more rural state that has a lot more freedom. โœŠ Maybe Wyoming? ๐Ÿค  That’s a segue, although I don’t know what I would do out there, but I’ve heard good things about moving out west in places like Idaho or Missouri.

On this day in 1890, Wyoming is admitted to the United States as the 44th US State. ๐ŸŒ‹Many liberals regard that as a mistake, although it has some beautiful country out in Yellowstone and lots of oil and coal. ๐Ÿญ And no nearby neighbors, which is fun if you want to have big bonfires all of the time, drink beer, ride four wheelers, have hogs, cattle, and other animals ๐Ÿฅฉlike on Our Wyoming Life.๐Ÿค ย  And in 1962, Telstar, the world’s first communication satellite is launched.โญ And they wrote a song about it, ๐Ÿš€ until it was destroyed by the nuclear tests that not only nuked our satellite but put cesium-138 into our milk and ice cream.๐Ÿฎ

Going to be a nice, hot summer weekend. ๐ŸŠ Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Maximum dew point of 64 at 7pm. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Maximum dew point of 63 at 6am. Little less muggy then the second half of the week. Typical average high for the weekend is 83 degrees. I think my plans for the weekend remain constant. It’s going to be hot ๐Ÿ”ฅ but no so bad out in the country in Schoharie County. I wonder if they will have sweet corn ๐ŸŒฝ out there. Swimming, fishing, maybe hiking. I’m sure it will be cool down by the Betty Brook. Then next weekend is the real vacation.๐Ÿ– I hope that my state parks pass is activated — it should be — but I haven’t tested it yet.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Teeth Cleaning Day ๐Ÿ˜ƒ when the sun will be setting at 8:16 pm with dusk at 8:48 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 86 and 67 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 82 degrees. We hit a record high of 98 back in 1917.
