January 8, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Next Tuesday is National Bird Day 🐦. Cloudy at the freezing point in Delmar. ☁ Breezy, ️16 mph breeze from the south 🌬 with gusts up to 28 mph 💨💨💨. The current wind chill is 21. Sidewalks and the grass have a glaze of ice on them but it’s not terribly slippery in Delmar. The skies will clear Friday around 2 am. Then it will get really cold, well relatively speaking. Fortunately though the heat in my apartment has been turned back on. The burner control switch was accidentally shut off when they were servicing another units boiler.

Today will have a chance of freezing rain before 9am, then rain showers likely. Mostly cloudy 🌦, with a high of 39 degrees at 1pm. Nine degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around March 1st. South wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. A year ago, we had cloudy in the morning, which became light snow by afternoon. The high last year was 27 degrees. The record high of 60 was set in 2008. 8.3 inches of snow fell back in 1923.❄

The sun will set at 4:39 pm with dusk around 5:11 pm, which is one minute and 3 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 39 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 10 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 15 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 15 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will rain before 1am, then rain and snow. 🌧 Low of 34 degrees at 6am. 19 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around April 6th. South wind 8 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2018, we had cloudy in the evening, which became mostly sunny by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 24 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1968.

Tomorrow is the first day of the year session, 👔so I’ll have to dust off my politician suit. I actually need to buy another ironing board cover as the old one got mildewy and tossed into a fire at some point along the way. Mom was saying they sell them at Walmart. I have to stop and buy some file folders too before I head over to John Wolcott’s house to continue sorting his archives as part of a local history project that Save the Pine Bush is doing.📂 At some point they will end up in a local historical library and contain probably one of Albany’s richest collections of history.

Last night I got my flu shot, 💉 and then went to the public hearing of the Guilderland Industrial Development Agency where they proposed giving a generous sales and mortgage tax exemption💰 to Crossgates Maul to build apartments in the Pine Bush across from preserve lands on a parcel that connects habitat for the Karner Blue. 🐥 Stupid proposal but Crossgates is failing as people don’t shop at mauls anymore and they’re trying to be part of the overbuilding of apartments in Guilderland 🏢 which will certainly crash in price in the coming years. Make money now and leave others holding the bag I guess is the thing now.

Still really busy with the report I’m working on with work, 📝but hopefully that will wrap up soon and there won’t be too many late nights later this week. I just want things to go smoothly as we head to the weekend. Going to be cold and maybe snowy this weekend but with family obligations and other necessary things I expect another busy weekend. The good news is it’s making January pass by quickly. 🌀

As previously noted, next Tuesday is National Bird Day 🐦 when the sun will be setting at 4:47 pm with dusk at 5:18 pm. On that day in 2018, we had cold, partly cloudy and temperatures between 21 and 5 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 30 degrees. We hit a record high of 65 back in 1995.

Warmth

January 3, 2019 Evening

Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 33 degrees in Delmar. ☁ There is a west-northwest breeze at 6 mph. 🍃. The skies will clear tomorrow around 4 am.

Another long day, busy but still its good to be back in the Albany area, able to take the bus home after a long day. 🚌 I can complain but I enjoy the routine and I think I do good work. Making a lot of progress on the report, I don’t plan to stay late tomorrow, which is Friday. I heard we should have some really nice weather come tomorrow than cooler for the weekend. But then again it’s January, and relatively speaking it’s been quite mild.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy 🌥, with a low of 27 degrees at 6am. 12 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around March 19th. West wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. Should be a quite pleasant evening. In 2018, we had with more clouds in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 14 degrees. The record low of -15 occurred back in 1904.

Tonight will have a Waning Crescent Moon 🌘 with 3% illuminated. The moon will rise at 6:05 am. The New Moon will be tomorrow with mostly cloudy skies. The Wolf Moon 🌝 is on Sunday, January 20th. The sun will rise at 7:25 am with the first light at 6:53 am, which is earlier than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 14 hours and 50 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 58 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 43 degrees at 2pm. 12 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around March 12th. South wind 5 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had . The high last year was 22 degrees. The record high of 64 was set in 1950. 8.8 inches of snow fell back in 2003.❄

Once I get home I’ll cook up some dinner then go for my evening walk. 🏃I successfully renewed my library books so I can finish them up without having to worry about getting them back. I could read for a while after I get back from my walk but I probably will just retire early to bed or maybe jot down my thoughts on a few things.

Mild but wet for the first half of the weekend. πŸ˜• Saturday, a chance of rain or freezing rain before 10am, then rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 39. Typical average high for the weekend is 31 degrees. I have a family event on Sunday to attend to, and I think I’ll enjoy Saturday at home working on some projects. The budget has gotten tight again for me so I need to continue to find ways to cut expenses and spend more time doing things closer to home. I’ll travel more come the spring time.

In four weeks on January 31 the sun will be setting at 5:08 pm,🌄 which is 33 minutes and 8 seconds later then tonight. December 27, 2018 Night

Good evening! Partly cloudy and 29 degrees in Delmar. β›… There is a south-southeast breeze at 9 mph. 🍃. Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 4 am. 🌡️

It wasn’t too bad for the evening walk but I suspect later in the night it could be icy. By the time I go to work tomorrow I don’t expect any problems though on the roads not that I plan to drive anywhere but will be taking the bus. Going to quite mild tomorrow. 🏃

Tonight will have a slight chance of snow before 2am, then sleet likely between 2am and 4am, then freezing rain likely after 4am. Cloudy 🌥, with a low of 27 degrees at 10pm. 10 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around December 2nd. Southeast wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2017, we had partly clear skies. It got down to -5 degrees. It was cold the end of last December. The record low of -14 occurred back in 1951.

I ended up getting home, having dinner and listening to Marketplace then playing with my phone before going on the evening walk. I get tired of going down to the library all off the time and instead are trying to spend more evenings at home, going for my evening walk a bit tired. But I have to admit I wasted my time at home screwing around with Facebook and reading news articles on the internet, sharing random things of interest.

I really should have spent the time messing around with Bluetooth more so I can get the various things I’ve built in my bedroom talking to one another. I tried hooking something up on this Arduino Uno shield I had but I guess it’s only for soldering rather than a breadboard so I’m going to have to move everything over the next time I work on it. I have a dozen other boring projects like scrubbing and cleaning my tub which has gotten really dirty that should be done too. But I’ve been tired lately. 📻Waiting for Marketplace to come on at 6:30 pm is kind of silly because I subscribe to the podcast and honestly I don’t day trade, although I do like to expand my knowledge of the markets over the long term and what the real experts – not the flash in the pan commentators say about the economy and how I can eventually secure the good life for myself with land and an off grid cabin. 🏡 But I was so fried and that’s my excuse. 💤

Tonight will have a Waning Gibbous Moon 🌖 with 63% illuminated. The moon will set at 11:44 am. The Last Quarter Moon will be tomorrow with mostly cloudy skies. The Wolf Moon 🌝 is on Sunday, January 20th. The sun will rise at 7:24 am with the first light at 6:52 am, which is 16 seconds later than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 14 hours and 55 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 29 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will rain. 🌧 High of 50 degrees at 6pm. 19 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around November 9th. That seems like an eternity ago at this point. But definitely sounds wet. Maximum dew point of 45 at 5pm. 🏖️ South wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had sunny skies. The high last year was 8 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1982. 7 inches of snow fell back in 1967.❄

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. πŸ˜• Saturday, scattered rain showers, possibly mixing with snow after 1pm, then gradually ending. Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 30. Typical average high for the weekend is 32 degrees.

I’m still considering going up to the Adirondacks after the pine bush hike 🚶but I’m still a bit concerned about the forecast. I don’t want to camp through four days of clouds then rain on New Years Eve. 💦 That said not much ice is expected up north and the rain tomorrow will melt most of snow down to an icy glaze. I should be able to park near the road and camp not that far back although I doubt I’ll have cell service for the campsite I have in mind. β›Ί

I don’t know I’m somewhat inclined to stay home and save the money which is a bit tight after Christmas and work on some electronics projects and coding. And do a day trip to hike somewhere locally. The wind on Saturday sounds cold and the mercury will fall dramatically come Sunday.📉 I’m not sure although I’ll need to decide fairly early tomorrow so I can get propane topped off and food if I do decide to go up north. I wouldn’t mind getting away from it all for a few days, especially if I lack cell service as well close out 2018.📡 It would be fun to spend the last night of the year, waking to a new year in the tent, sleeping in the wilderness but not in the pouring rain. 🎇

In four weeks on January 24 the sun will be setting at 4:58 pm,🌄 which is 29 minutes and 52 seconds later then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 41 and 18 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 31 and 14 degrees. The record high of 54 degrees was set back in 1999.

Ginger Bread Cake

December 26, 2018 Night

Good evening! Cloudy and 31 degrees in Delmar. ☁ There is a west breeze at 6 mph. 🍃. Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around noontime. 🌡️

Tired this evening 💤 kind of a long day for sure. I did go for a nice little walk around town though which was nice. Now I’m laying in bed, soon to close my eyes. Just so much going on.

Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers before 2am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 24 degrees at 6am. Seven degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around December 9th. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2017, we had clear skies. It got down to -4 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1914.

Tonight will have a Waning Gibbous Moon 🌖 with 74% illuminated. The moon will set at 11:12 am. The Last Quarter Moon is on Friday night. The Wolf Moon 🌝 is on Sunday, January 20th. The sun will rise at 7:24 am with the first light at 6:52 am, which is 19 seconds later than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 14 hours and 56 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 24 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 35 degrees at 2pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around December 19th. Light and variable wind. A year ago, we had . The high last year was 17 degrees. The record high of 60 was set in 1895. 15 inches of snow fell back in 1894.❄

Christmas Dinner at my parents house was pretty good. Ham and all the fixings. It was a nice Christmas dinner, my parents are still pretty good cooks. 🍲 Ginger bread cake wasn’t my favorite but the glazed ham was very good. I really got to work on improving my cooking although I suspect when my parents stop doing Christmas dinner I’ll probably end up doing one of those community dinners at a local church, especially if I finally get a chance to move to a small town outside of New York.

I hooked up the LED strip and transformer at my parents house, and it worked once I figured out how to staple things up. 🔌 I didn’t count on how difficult it would be to stick up wires on the bottom of the cabinets due to the wood not being like aluminum. I think if I were to do it again, I would get some sheet aluminum and bolt it on that for better heat dispersion, :idea:although the current set up should work but it’s messier then I had hoped. At least it makes it a lot brighter for them. I think if I were to do it again I would re-think how I did it.

I got my phone renewed, after it got disabled with the auto renewal rejecting my credit card and then the fraud protection locking out my card. I got an email and a phone call to disable the fraud block but I got confused and got locked out. Ended up calling the card servicer and they got it straightened out and using another card I was able to renew my phone. 📲 Bought a full year’s subscription for $540 including taxes and fees which is cheaper than buying 6 months at a time like I previously did or before then going month to month. It is a lot of money up front but I’ve been happy with the Straight Talk service I’ve had for nearly a decade now so I figured buying a year of service was a low risk proposition which will save me $85 or maybe even more when you figure taxes and fees over paying month to month. With money as tight as it is in my budget anything I can save I’d important. Plus now I won’t have to budget for phone service until next December which is good as money is so tight, especially going forward as I won’t be making as much money as I did last autumn.

Hopefully now that my phone is working again and I return to a more normal work schedule 📃 I’ll have more time to do some more blogging. I made up some more maps the other day and are posting more videos and pictures but honestly lately my adventures have been kind of lame with the weather and because I have my favorite places.

After the power came back on during Christmas Day I finished sorting my electronics components. 🔬 Now when I finally get back to the projects things are nice and neat and I should be able to find the necessary components quickly which is a good thing in my book for sure. They’re a lot of winter left to play with electronics before it’s gets nice enough to want to spend a lot more time out in the wilderness.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. πŸ˜• Saturday, a slight chance of rain showers after 7am, mixing with snow after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 27. Typical average high for the weekend is 32 degrees.

I am still considering going to the Adirondacks after the Save the Pine Bush Hike 🗻 through New Years Day as it looks like a lot of snow has melted but I’m concerned it might be really icy up north and money is kind of tight again after Christmas and paying my cellphone bill and rent for the month. I don’t know why could enjoy the long nights and the solitude and I could really use some time away from it all. 🌌 Life gets tougher as you get older, I enjoy the solitude more and getting away from Albany. Starting out the New Year in the wilderness might be very special.

In four weeks on January 23 the sun will be setting at 4:57 pm,🌄 which is 29 minutes and 18 seconds later then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had rain and temperatures between 48 and 37 degrees. From The Top

December 24, 2018 Night

Good evening! Light snowand 32 degrees during the great Christmas Eve black out in Delmar. ❄ There is a west-northwest breeze at 10 mph. 🍃. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around noontime. 🌡️

As I didn’t want to sit in the darkness inside and because I really didn’t have any dinner when the power went out, 🌌 I sat out back for a while with my camp stove and heater and warmed up some dinner and hot coca.β˜• Not a really cold night but I was getting tired and decided head back in and retire to bed. 💤 Pretty night when the moon came out and it started to snow. I stayed up too late last night and want to get to sleep soon.

I saw the power crew go by and it looks like points north and east of Cherry and Delaware still have power do I expect it to be on before long. But I also expect to be asleep by then.βŒ› I tried to turn off the lights and unplug the strip over my bed so I won’t be awaken when the power returns.

Because it was so dark before the moon came up – close to full moon – I decided to hang Christmas lights on my truck to get into the spirit. 🎄 I’m going to leave them on all night but I expect it’s possible that the low voltage relay will kick in by morning but that’s fine, the starting battery is isolated and even the accessory battery should start charging by morning when the sun gets high enough to push power out to the solar panel.🔌 Might even be enough sun to reset the relay by morning by itself.

Power outage couldn’t have happened at a worse time for me, as I was sorting out electronic components into boxes on my floor, 🔩as they have become rather disorganized and hard to locate things. I’ve been buying these flat clear tackle boxes for that purpose of sorting them out and finally I’m getting around to having one box for LEDs, one for resistors and capacitors, one for microprocessors and other miscellaneous sensors. 📦Well I moved it out of the way with my flash light finishing up what I could. I guess at least I wasn’t cooking.

Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers before 10pm. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 25 degrees at 6am. Seven degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around December 7th. Maximum wind chill around 18 at 6am; Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2017, we had cloudy skies, clearing in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 17 degrees. The record low of -22 occurred back in 1969.

Tonight will have a Waning Gibbous Moon 🌖 with 91% illuminated. The moon will set at 9:54 am. The Last Quarter Moon is on Friday night with partly cloudy skies. The Wolf Moon 🌝 is on Sunday, January 20th. The sun will rise at 7:23 am with the first light at 6:51 am, which is 23 seconds later than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 14 hours and 56 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 15 seconds over last night.

Christmas Day will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 34 degrees at 1pm. One degree above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around December 22nd. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Sounds like a really nice day. Maybe I should plan some hiking. A year ago, we had cloudy skies with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 33 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1889. 19.2 inches of snow fell back in 2002.❄

If I do go for a hike tomorrow, I am a bit undecided where.🏃 Probably not too far as I want to hook up the under cabinet lighting I got them for Christmas. I should plan a couple hours for that before Christmas dinner at the folks house. I think the next big adventure will be the long weekend for New Years Eve. 🎇

My parents had a nice Christmas Eve party with my niece, and my sister and my inlaw. Lots of good food and hanging around opening gifts. 🎁 It seemed like a lot of fun for all involved. It was nice seeing my parents, I hadn’t seen them since my trip. My niece seemed to like the star I built her. There is a lot I don’t like about Christmas which is why I don’t celebrate it personally but I family occasions are special. And this year thanks to the black out I actually hung up some Christmas lights on my truck. I guess I did string some warm white lights into my apartment that I bought for camping but honestly they’re not really strung for the holiday. If anything, they’re for Quinn the Eskimo.

I’m having some problems with the auto renewal on my phone, 📲 so I may not post any updates until later when I get to my parents house for Christmas dinner. I think the auto renewal is fixed but I won’t know until morning. If not I’ll have to fix it tomorrow, so I won’t have internet until it’s fixed. But then I won’t have to pay for my phone service for another six months. I’m thinking about buying the full year plan and paying the $500 up front but that’s a lot of money to have locked up in a service contract to save $15 total over the six months of service I buy twice a year. ☎ I don’t have internet at home so I’m very dependent on having my phone for connection to the interwebs.

A picture perfect weekend on tap for the final weekend of the year. 😎 Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 40. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 30. Typical average high for the weekend is 32 degrees. Figuring I have New Years Eve off, I’m really thinking about a 3 night camping trip starting right after the Save the Pine Bush hike. Maybe the Adirondacks as I think there will be snow at Charles Baker in Brookfield and I don’t want to go back to Betty Brook in Schoharie in the winter in case there is ice, and because that valley is so deep and dark in the winter.

In four weeks on January 21 the sun will be setting at 4:55 pm,🌄 which is 28 minutes and 5 seconds later then tonight. It will be nice with the later sunsets. In 2018 on that day, we had cloudy skies, snow showers and temperatures between 43 and 29 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 30 and 14 degrees. The record high of 61 degrees was set back in 2006.

Looking ahead, New Years Eve 🎆 is in 1 week, Coldest Week of the Year 🌬 is in 3 weeks, Martin Luther King Day 🖤 is in 4 weeks, Presidents Day 👴 is in 8 weeks, Average High is 40 β˜€οΈ is in 10 weeks, April Fools Day 🤡 is in 14 weeks, Tax Day 💰 is in 16 weeks, Earth Day 🌎 is in 17 weeks, Memorial Day Weekend Starts 🏕️ is in 5 months, Memorial Day 🇺🇸 is in 22 weeks, July 🏊🏿 is in 27 weeks, Last Sunset After 8 PM 🌆 is in 33 weeks and Average High Falls To 79 ️Degrees ⛱️️️ is in 8 months. Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 32 degrees in Delmar. ☁ Calm wind. Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 11 am. 🌡️

I went for a nice evening walk, it was fairly mild for December earlier. 🏃I thought about going for a walk somewhere else but I got busy with a bunch of projects I was working on.

Tonight will have a chance of light snow, mainly after 2am. Cloudy 🌨, with a low of 27 degrees at 5am. Nine degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around December 2nd. Southeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2017, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 26 degrees. The record low of -15 occurred back in 1989.

Tonight will have a Waning Gibbous Moon 🌖 with 97% illuminated. The moon will set at 9:04 am. The Last Quarter Moon is on Friday night with partly cloudy skies. The Wolf Moon 🌝 is in 4 weeks. The sun will rise at 7:23 am with the first light at 6:51 am, which is 25 seconds later than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 14 hours and 57 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 11 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will snow showers likely before 3pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 3pm and 4pm, then a chance of snow showers after 4pm. Cloudy 🌧, with a high of 37 degrees at 3pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around December 13th. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning, which became light drizzle by afternoon. The high last year was 36 degrees. The record high of 72 was set in 2015. 13 inches of snow fell back in 1966.❄

Next weekend looks like it might be perfect weather-wise. 😎 Next Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 41. Next Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 30. Typical average high for the weekend is 32 degrees. Maybe I will try to get out of town for New Years Eve Weekend. It depends on how much snow is up north or wherever I decide to go. It would be fun to get one more smallish trip in before the end of the year.

Finally ended up buying another windshield wiper as it turns out that the one I bought originally doesn’t fit my truck. Unfortunately I think the receipt got damaged but it was only $9 at Walmart. Maybe I’ll try to take it back, I have part of the receipt. We’ll see. 🎫 The new blade works fine but it was a pain to get it to snap on properly. For such a simple part it always seems like windshield wipers can be problematic. Even the high end blades don’t always last.

Spent some time working on Christmas presents today, along with some working on code and writing. 📄 Made some new maps up too and other content for the blog. Got some groceries. Need to continue to work on the Bluetooth stuff as I decided I want to have that working perfectly before I hook it into the lighting fixture and have to reach up to fix it.

In four weeks on January 20 the sun will be setting at 4:53 pm,🌄 which is 27 minutes and 26 seconds later then tonight. December 23, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Happy Festivus 🍖! It’s the holiday for the rest of us. Overcast and 28 degrees in Delmar. ☁ There is a northwest breeze at 9 mph. 🍃. Typical weather in Trump’s America. But still it’s Festivus, I would expect better from our president and his weather authority.

I don’t have any plans for celebrating Festivus although I want to get to the store shortly before the crowds show up. 💸 I might also go for a hike later, as it might get nicer. Thinking just like Five Rivers or maybe just a walk around the neighborhood.🏃 I could also go to the library as that’s the last time I will be able to get on the internet there until Wednesday with the holiday. 💻

Today will be partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 37 degrees at 1pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around December 13th. So it’s frustrating about the windshield wiper but I think I will continue searching for the receipt. I haven’t taken the paper trash to the park and ride dumpster so it’s either there or somewhere in my truck assuming I didn’t drop it when I was struggling to get the blade on in the dark. 🎏 Well it wasn’t that expensive and I need a proper one.

Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time reading, 📚 getting through a bunch of books and working on some code, and doing some soldering. Been playing with AT mode on the HC-05 Bluetooth board, trying to get it to work as a master pairing with another Bluetooth device with the idea to eventually have the various lighting devices in my apartment talking to one and another so they seemlessly turn on in the morning for getting up time, eventually all controlled by my phone. I also am working on building the new control board for the overhead lights, soldering together the connections among other projects. 🔬It just wasn’t a real nice day yesterday.

One month 📅 from now will be National Cheese Lovers Day 🧀 when the sun will be setting at 4:57 pm with dusk at 5:28 pm. The average high for Cheese Lovers Day is 31 degrees with the salt in the cheese probably not quite cold enough to freeze it. Well not at least mid day. Even in that cold I’m sure the cow teats are still warm. They’re not that well insulated, they waste a lot of energy as heat.
