Earlier on this evening ๐ŸŒƒ Venus and Jupiter were in a perfect line and bright in the sky. I could see them clearly under the bright lights of the Delaware Plaza when I did my weekly shop ๐Ÿช mostly for fruits and vegetables. I also dropped off my laundry at the laundromat ๐Ÿ‘š and got that done. Big Red is parked for the week. ๐Ÿ›ป I might clean the snow off him tomorrow night just so there is less snow to deal with come Sunday.

Probably didn’t need to go for a walk ๐Ÿšถ tonight but extra steps are good and I like walking. Helps pass the time and it’s healthy.

The big forty is what’s on my mind tonight. ๐ŸŽ‚ I mean I know it’s just a number and most people eventually hit it but it’s not something you ever give much thought about when you are young. The day will come and go like all do, and what matters is what you make of it as one step towards the future ๐Ÿ”ฎ but it’s such a big number. Been doing a lot of reading about the meaning of turning forty and I guess the best thing about being in your forties is you don’t give a rats ass what others think about you not that I ever really did.

I went to the library for the first time in several weeks ๐Ÿ“š mostly to use the internet, I didn’t get any books out. The library since the pandemic seems so much more crowded than the past. With my unlimited phone plan I mostly just use my phone ๐Ÿ“ฑ but for coding purposes and data intensive things it’s best to go to the library. Plus cell service lately has been unreliable locally since the storm yesterday.

I filled up the water ๐Ÿ’ฆ container and loaded up the propane tank to be filled after I go to the dentist and then I plan to head up to the woods to ski ๐ŸŽฟ and camp โ›บ on my final day of being in my thirties. Good morning! Happy Thursday. Snow fog, cloudy and one degree above freezing for the morning walk. ๐ŸŒซ There is a southwest breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There are 5 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ We ended up getting less rain than expected and no snow over night. So things melted but there is still snow around. Things will freeze again tonight. Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 5 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Kind of damp and chilly for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถbut the lack of ice is nice. Reminds me of the snowy icy day camping at East Otto State Forest in November or that day camping in December in the Vanderwhacker wilderness. Lots of slop for snow. Dawn is now 6:45 which means that except for the cloudest days the start of the walk isn’t pitch black.

Today was a breakfast reheat morning ๐Ÿฅž which meant it was a quick and easy start to the morning and I set my alarm โฐ 10 minutes earlier to ensure that I maintain my schedule. I like my calorie reduction program it saves so much food and money ๐Ÿ’ต. With inflation every dollar is precious, especially if I can invest it while the market is down.

Today will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 40 degrees at 11am. Seven degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 28th. Taking the express bus ๐Ÿš in as today isn’t a session day. Looks like they’re running the big articulated bus this morning ๐Ÿšwhich means that the driver will likely leave right on time or even a bit early as those pusher buses are slower to drive through traffic. So I have to put my phone down, shower ๐Ÿšฟ quickly leave right on time for the express.

Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 50 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 10 seconds over today.

I got milk ๐Ÿฅ› at Stewart’s yesterday and was disappointed that the expiration date is a week from Friday. Compared to the grocery store that’s good but it’s not as fresh as it used to be. Plus with my calorie reduction program I’m not drinking as much milk as it once did.

Back to work tomorrow ๐Ÿ’ผ after the holiday weekend and my week off. I wish the weather was better but at least I didn’t have to get up and go to work each day. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ But with the bad weather – cold or rain until Christmas Eve I had fallen behind on my steps.

Did 26,000 steps today – did Meads Lane and Five Rivers Environmental Education Center via Fisher Trail in the morning, Bennett Hill in the afternoon and then my evening walk. ๐Ÿšถ And I got milk ๐Ÿฅ› for the morning.

December 26, 2022 Morning

Good morning! Happy Boxing Day. ๐Ÿ“ฆ Probably a really day for having a big bonfire ๐Ÿ”ฅ with all that Christmas ๐Ÿคถ packaging and wrappers. Stuff burns well.

After a rather cold past few days, things have warmed up nicely. The sun is shining and no wind. I’m out walking ๐Ÿšถ back home from Five Rivers Environmental Education Center and the big loop over Meads Lane ๐Ÿฎ and the Fisher Trail.
