Dark and Rainy Sunday morning โ˜”

It’s not pouring out this morning, but hardly a beautiful morning. Dark for sure, but then I get up early and the sun rises late. Up again at 5 AM, but I was asleep before 8 PM and I enjoy getting up early and having a good breakfast, and getting a jump on my day. Too dark to walk this morning so far, but I might go out in a bit.

Good morning! Happy Sunday. Rain showers around and 54 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a north-northwest breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 51 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 3 pm.

No big meals cooking up in the kitchen this morning, ๐Ÿฅž but I tried unsuccessfully to turn quinoa into pancakes like I do with oatmeal and bananas. I mean it was tasty on the griddle fried up, but even with mashed bananas and apples, I could not get it to bind together. It doesn’t have the gluten that oatmeal or flour has. It was worth a try. I’ve tried cleaning the quinoa better to get rid of more of that bitter taste, and it was better but after refrigerating it and washing again, still not great. It supposed to be a wonderful grain, but my results with it have been mixed. Almost too fussy for my bother, I’d rather stick with old fashioned oatmeal, whole wheat flour or traditional cream of wheat, the later which I fully admit isn’t whole-grain but I usually pair it with chia seeds, greek yogurt, fruit — and cream of wheat is “fortified” with some vitamins, so it’s hardly junk food.

Today will have a chance of showers. Cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 63 degrees at 4pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 12th. Maximum dew point of 57 at 3pm. North wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 68 degrees. The record high of 90 was set in 2017.

I was thinking about heading up to Keehler Preserve some time this morning ๐Ÿšตโ€โ™€๏ธ and do some riding after a fun day at Thacher Park riding about 20 miles, mostly trail riding. Getting better and more comfortable mountain biking. It’s not like urban or bike path riding. Totally different set of skills, to get comfortable dealing with rocks and roots and rough trails. I am less fearful of bumps and destroying my bike, though I don’t abuse it too much. I do loose my tail light on my bike, bumping over the rough trail, but it was an old one at this point and I should replace it with a brighter one. I am going to have to do some Internet research on what good lights are ๐Ÿ’ก especially now the mornings and evenings are getting shadowy and dark, and it’s important to be seen, especially when commuting. Come the time change in six weeks, I’ll probably still ride in many mornings, but I’ll have to load my bike on the bus and ride home in the evening.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:48 pm with sun having an altitude of 47ยฐ from the due south horizon (-23.8ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 5.6 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:14 pm with the sun in the west (264ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (270ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 6:51 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 54 seconds with dusk around 7:18 pm, which is one minute and 47 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon in the south-southeast (155ยฐ) at an altitude of 19ยฐ from the horizon, 227,464 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 7:52 pm. At sunset, look for more rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 61 degrees. The dew point will be 55 degrees. There will be a north breeze at 7 mph. Tomorrow will have 12 hours and 5 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 52 seconds over today.

I probably should go to Walmart and buy more groceries and supplies. ๐Ÿ›’ I should go fairly early to avoid the crowds, though honestly I could wait until tomorrow after work. I would like to get more oatmeal and I’m out of frozen fruit. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ“ I could go to the car wash and power wash Blackie ๐Ÿšต and Big Red. ๐Ÿ›ป Not planning on heading camping next weekend but if it’s nice next weekend I might rattle can some of the rust on my truck before the salt spreaders are back on road. ๐Ÿšถ I might walk first though.

Tonight will have a chance of more rain, mainly before 4am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 55 degrees at 5am. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 11th. Maximum dew point of 55 at 6pm. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2022, we had clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 49 degrees. The record low of 29 occurred back in 1963.

Looking ahead, next Sunday is October ๐ŸŽƒ when the sun will be setting at 6:38 pm with dusk at 7:05 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 69 and 46 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 68 degrees. I can’t believe how quickly the average temperature drops as we get past the equinox and autumn is well underway. Plus how short days are now. But that’s to be expected.. We hit a record high of 90 back in 1927.

 Into The Distance

Cussing my way through a Sunday ๐Ÿคฌ

Some days are better then others. This morning I started out by dropping a cup from cupboard onto my mini-food chopper shattering the lid, then digging myself into a bit of a whole trying to get rid of the clicking in the high gear of Blackie. Plus it’s starting to rain out.

Good afternoon! Rain showers and 75 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a south-southeast breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 69 degrees.

So I started out my morning making oatmeal-banana pancakes ๐Ÿฅž which was good until I bumped the the counter and knocked a plastic cup down, which bumped the lid of the mini-food chopper I use almost daily. It’s not the most expensive device ever, but I don’t want to buy a new one if I can avoid it. Maybe I can glue the top back together. ๐Ÿ’ฅ Fortunately where the break is isn’t where the latch is so I can use it for now, but I think I’ll want to look at getting a full-size food processor, and maybe also a replacement for the mini-one for use at camping. I’m undecided, money is currently a bit tight. ๐Ÿ’ธ

This afternoon will have showers likely. Cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 76 degrees at 2pm. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around September 11th. Maximum dew point of 69 at 2pm. South wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 83 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 1931.

Yesterday riding Blackie ๐Ÿšต‍โ™€๏ธ back from Thacher Park, I was noticing a ticking noise when in the high gear and I’m trying to adjust the front derailleur with limited luck, with hope to get running smoothly again. I guess worse comes to worse I can take it back to the shop to be properly indexed, but I want to try to do it myself โš™ especially with money as tight as it is these days. So far it’s been a lot of cussing, making things worse rather then better, but this is relatively simple, I should be able to figure it out. Not serious, but frustrating as you would hope your shiny new mountain bike would work without issues, but I think I snagged the front derailleur cable when I was out riding at Thacher Park yesterday.

Lunch is going to be some red-lentil pancakes, ๐Ÿฅž which are always a treat, especially with enough salt. Plus frozen fruit left over from the picnic to snack on. ๐Ÿ‡  And more of that whole-wheat bread I made yesterday, for dipping in the hummus I made this morning. Probably too much anxiety-based snacking.

Tonight will have a Waning Crescent ๐ŸŒ˜ Moon with 15% illuminated. At 2 PM, the moon was in the west (272°) at an altitude of 37° from the horizon, some 250,487 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by March 18th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The moon will set in the northwest (304°) at 5:40 pm. The Harvest ๐ŸŒฝ Moon is on Monday, September 25. The darkest hour is at 12:53 am, followed by dawn at 6:02 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:30 am in the east (83°) and last for 2 minutes and 55 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 3 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:08 am with sun in the east (89°). Tonight will have 11 hours and 13 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 50 seconds over last night.

This afternoon in a bit I’m heading out to visit the folks. ๐Ÿ‘ช It should be a nice afternoon, though maybe a wet one. I heard County Route 312 is under construction, so I’ll have to decide if I should go that way or take NY 32. Don’t want to go too late though, as the sun set is earlier and earlier these days.

Tonight will have showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 3am, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog between 3am and 4am. Otherwise, cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 65 degrees at 6am. 10 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 68 at 6pm. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. In 2022, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 64 degrees. The record low of 36 occurred back in 1917.

In four weeks on October 8 the sun will be setting in the west (263°) at 6:26 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 49 minutes and 24 seconds earlier then today. In 2022 on that day, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 54 and 38 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 65 and 44 degrees. The record high of 80 degrees was set back in 2017.

Looking ahead,, Constitution Day ๐Ÿ“œ is Next Sunday, October ๐ŸŽƒ is in 3 weeks, Average High is 65 ๐Ÿ‚ is in 4 weeks, 7:15 AM Sunrise โŒ›๏ธ is in 3 months and Christmas Eve ๐ŸŽ… is in 15 weeks.

Gorge

Watched both the sunset on July and the sunrise into August

Honest, I’m trying to do better on the sleep thing. I was asleep by 10 pm last night, after I drove home from Cayuga Lake in Ithaca it was straight to bed. Plus I wanted to get started early today, as I plan to head to Dresden then bike to Penn Yann on the Kueka Outlet Rail Trail, poke around Penn Yann for a while. Then maybe Sugar Hill then Watkins Glen pool. Like if I have time, lol. Or whatever hits my fancy, I will need to get a few groceries later.

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. ๐ŸŒ„ Mostly sunny and 53 degrees at the Finger Lakes National Forest. There is a west-northwest breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 53 degrees. Fog ๐ŸŒซ over Seneca Lake I can see from the backbone.

Decided to set my alarm โฐ to catch the sunrise but by the time I made it to Searsburg Road I saw the sun had partially beat me. Regardless I got close to eight 8โƒฃ hours of solid sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด last night and the sun was just starting over the horizon. Still a good early start to the morning. Lots of coffee โ˜• this morning plus cream of wheat with chea seeds for added fiber ๐ŸŒฑ, some lemon ๐Ÿ‹ and stevia for sweetness plus walnuts and non fat Greek yogurt. Yum.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 69 degrees at 4pm. 15 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around September 28th. Maximum dew point of 54 at 8am. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies. It was somewhat humid. The high last year was 89 degrees. The record high of 101 was set in 1933. Not this year, lol. ๐Ÿ˜‚

How fast time comes and goes on vacation but there is much more to do. Dresden – Penn Yann today โ›ต and then maybe kayaking ๐Ÿ›ถ and fishing ๐ŸŽฃ on Seneca Lake tomorrow, paddling up to Hector Point as it’s expected to be calm. Swimming in Cayuga Lake Thursday I’m thinking ๐Ÿ’ญ as it will be warmer, maybe the Black Diamond Trail from Ithaca to the Taughannock Gorge. Maybe get clams tonight. ๐Ÿฆช I concede probably best just to wait for my Labor Day Weekend trip or a Piseco-Powley long weekend trip for the clams but you know what’s on my mind.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 1:14 pm with sun having an altitude of 65.5ยฐ from the due south horizon (-5.2ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.7 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:49 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (289ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (296ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:29 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 12 seconds with dusk around 8:59 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the east-southeast (120ยฐ) at an altitude of 0ยฐ from the horizon, 226,453 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:41 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 61 degrees. The dew point will be 50 degrees. There will be a north breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 31 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 11 seconds over yesterday.

Busy day yesterday, ๐Ÿšฒ starting at Stewart Park ๐Ÿž heading up to Ithaca Falls and spending the bulk of the day exploring the gorge through the historic Forest Home ๐Ÿก and Beebe Pond ๐Ÿฆ† and then ultimately spending many hours in the Cornell Botanical Gardens. Hell of it is I ended up riding past the dairy bar and it was still open ๐Ÿฅค but I didn’t realize until I was past it. The ride down Buffalo Street ๐Ÿƒ in Ithaca was a blast, my bike rotators were so hot from the braking. University ๐ŸŽ“ Ave over Canachilla Creek didn’t offer much in views but riding along the Cayuga Waterfront Trail from NY 96 to the end at other end of Stewart Park was nice. Those suspension bridges ๐ŸŒ‰ the trail crosses are neat, and the size of the Ithaca Farmers market building is impressive. I wonder when they are open, I could stop by and stock up. And the sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ was great.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 51 degrees at 6am. 11 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 19th. Maximum dew point of 50 at 6pm. Light and variable wind becoming south around 6 mph after midnight. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies. It became sticky as the night progressed. It got down to 70 degrees. The record low of 45 occurred back in 1976.

Cool this weekend with temperatures running 10 degrees below normal but otherwise sunny. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Maximum dew point of 58 at 11am. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 75. Maximum dew point of 60 at 4pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 83 degrees. Very low humidity and sunny. Should be a great weekend once we get past the โ˜” rain and clouds on Friday.

One month ๐Ÿ“… from now will be September ๐Ÿ when the sun will be setting at 7:43 pm with dusk at 8:11 pm. About fifteenth minutes later then Albany. Enjoy summer before it’s gone as Labor Day will be a memory by then and the kiddos ๐Ÿง’ back to school ๐Ÿšธ.

Paddling Past Ducks

A slow and warm day for setting up camp for the next five days in the Finger Lakes ๐Ÿฎ

Finally made it to the Finger Lakes National Forest which is exactly my reaction when I pulled to the roadside desperately to piss in my wheel well as all day I’ve been peeing. I didn’t think I drank too much coffee this morning but those peaches and other farm fresh produce I was snacking on my ways to the Finger Lakes National Forest kept my bladder full and looking for trees, rest rooms and stops. Didn’t help I got stuck in bad traffic in Ithaca with construction and a tourist bus that used the back bumper of a flatbed trailer to stop and oh, yeah no power in East Ithaca or working traffic lights. Plus besides all the bathroom breaks, shopping at Walmart in Oneonta and an amazing farm stand in Caroline that made me wish I hadn’t gotten so much in Oneonta. Regardless, lots of good eating over the next few days.

Good evening! Partly clear and 79 degrees at the Finger Lakes National Forest. There is a west-northwest breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 66 degrees. The muggy weather ends tomorrow around 11 pm. ๐Ÿ˜“ Kind of buggy with the heat and humidity, though I expect things to improve come tomorrow. The real question is how wet will tomorrow be. Not sure, the Finger Lakes this year haven’t been as wet as Albany but not quitgy dry spell like Western New York. Seasonably wet you might say.

Got the big ol campsite โ›บ I wanted on Potomac Road. I admit I kind of raced the last two miles up here after a leisurely drive as I wanted to ensure I got the site I really wanted including swerving to dodge a pothole on the road and maybe even cutting off a driver a bit in determination to get the site though I doubt they were looking to camp here. I did see a camper van who was obviously looking for this site around 4 or 5 pm but I was here by 1:45 and it’s first come first serve. I took Friday morning off for a reason, lol. I really like this site as it’s farther off the road, well shaded but also where my truck is parked in a sunny field. No cell service at camp ๐Ÿ”• but I look at that as a benefit because I like the quiet ๐Ÿคซ. And my radio ๐Ÿ“ป is broke so no endless hours of talking heads ๐Ÿ‘ฅ discussing Jason Aldean’s Try that in a Small Town. I don’t need that crap or the endless stream of emails ๐Ÿ“ง and notifications on vacation. ๐Ÿ–

Spent the balance of the afternoon unpacking, organizing and setting up camp ๐Ÿ’ผ so everything will be perfect ๐Ÿ‘Œ for the next nine days. Did a lot of cooking – chicken, potatoes, onions, peppers and other things for lunch, then a similar thing with frozen samon for dinner. ๐Ÿ  I have so much good food to eat it’s hard to know where to start. Diet, lol. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Actually truth be told, I don’t have any cookies or junk food, just solid quality minimal whole fruits and vegetables ๐Ÿ that I’m cooking and eating this week. Had a beer ๐Ÿป but only one and no more then two each day if that all. Had some fresh squeezed lemonade ๐Ÿ‹ with stevia and used the rest of the lemon with the salmon. Yum, I’m eating good. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒƒ , with a low of 67 degrees at 6am. Four degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 9pm. Northwest wind around 7 mph becoming south in the evening. In 2022, we had partly cloudy skies. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 68 degrees. The record low of 47 occurred back in 1987.

My phone shows a chance of rain โ˜” late this evening, so I’ll put away anything I don’t want to get wet before bed like my hammock and store my clean clothes in the cab of my truck to ensure they stay dry. I have a tent ๐ŸŽช set up for the dirty clothes, boxes and other camp supplies I’m not immediately using, mostly for organizational purposes. I think I need to get some crates for storing food, like I use on the back of my bicycle ๐Ÿšฒ especially as I have so much fresh stuff that I am not keeping in the cooler as I don’t have the space and I don’t think it strictly necessary but I worry about bruising and disorder in the reusable shopping bags ๐Ÿ›.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon with 82% illuminated. At 8 PM, the moon was in the south-southeast (158ยฐ) at an altitude of 17ยฐ from the horizon, some 233,176 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by January 21st. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Strugeon ๐Ÿก Moon is on Tuesday, August 1. The darkest hour is at 1:14 am, followed by dawn at 5:23 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:56 am in the east-northeast (63ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 15 seconds. Sunrise is 59 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:36 am with sun in the east-northeast (70ยฐ). Tonight will have 9 hours and 21 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 3 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3pm. ๐ŸŒฆ High of 73 degrees at 12pm. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around September 14th. Maximum dew point of 71 at 12pm. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ West wind 9 to 15 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning, which became mostly sunny by afternoon. It was sticky. The high last year was 89 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1894.

I am not expecting a real nice day tomorrow ๐ŸŒง๏ธ but I got books to read ๐Ÿ“– and podcasts to listen to and I’ll spend a relaxed day around camp doing some good cooking ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿณ healthy ingredients from the bounty I got at Walmart and that farmers market. ๐ŸŒฝ I have a ton of delicious Vadella onions ๐Ÿง…and lemons, ๐Ÿ‹ and so much else from grapes ๐Ÿ‡ to strawberries ๐Ÿ“ that I won’t go hungry and if I do I have more salmon, fresh spinach, rice ๐Ÿš beans ๐Ÿฑ and hot peppers ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ. Nice days I’ll head into town or other activities, ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ rainier stormy days, I’ll tool around the National Forest with Blackie my mountain bike ๐Ÿšต, hike into the back country and do some fishing ๐ŸŽฃ.

In four weeks on August 25 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (286ยฐ) at 7:55 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 38 minutes and 26 seconds earlier then today. In 2022 on that day, we had hot, humid, mostly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 87 and 60 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 81 and 60 degrees. The record high of 99 degrees was set back in 1947. Too soon, I’m not willing to think about summer coming to an end on vacation, lol.

Looking ahead, Average High 70 ๐ŸŽ‘ is in 5 weeks, September ๐ŸŽ is in 5 weeks, Labor Day Weekend Begins ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿญ is in 5 weeks, Autumn ๐Ÿ‚ is in 8 weeks, Buy Nothing Day ๐Ÿ›๏ธ is in 17 weeks, December ๐ŸŽ„ is in 18 weeks, Bill of Rights Day ๐Ÿ“œ is in 20 weeks, Days are Getting Longer โ˜€๏ธ is in 21 weeks and 4:30 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ† is in 5 months.

Summer day

April 26, 2023 Morning

I bet the teats on that camel in Vermont is cold this morning ๐Ÿช

Maybe it’s just a heavy dew this morning but boy is it cold. Suns a rising quickly but it was hard to get out of bed with the cold.

Good morning! What day is it? A Frosty Hump Day, of course. Mostly clear and 32 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ŸŒ… Calm wind.

Hopefully this Wednesday won’t have a fast let down like like a camel has. ๐Ÿฅ› Regardless I’m moving but not that quick, as I do my morning walk ๐Ÿšถ. 8.2 miles walked yesterday.

Today will have a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4pm. Increasing clouds ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 58 degrees at 2pm. Six degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 13th. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 55 degrees. The record high of 90 was set in 1990. 0.3 inches of snow fell back in 1993.โ„

I can’t believe how cold โ„ it’s been lately. My office ๐Ÿข felt cold yesterday and I have had to wear my hoodie both for my morning and evening walks. Maybe I was spoiled after those 80 degrees days earlier in April. El Nino is coming this summer ๐Ÿ– so they’re predicting a hot one. I just want my hot coffee โ˜• when I get back inside.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:54 pm with sun having an altitude of 60.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-10ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 3.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:11 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (283ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ

The sunset is in the west-northwest (289ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:50 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 4 seconds with dusk around 8:19 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter ๐ŸŒ“ Moon in the west-southwest (239ยฐ) at an altitude of 63ยฐ from the horizon, 251,715 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:57 pm. At sunset, watch out for for rain ๐ŸŒง and thunderstorms ๐ŸŒฉ and temperatures around 51 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 55 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 37 seconds over yesterday.

Yesterday evening the Voorheesville bus ๐Ÿš never came. I waited and waited assuming it was running late like the other five riders, some going to Voorheesville but it never came. Ended up waiting and taking the local home. ๐Ÿš Then I gave the riders parked at the Elm Ave Park and Ride a ride over in my big jacked up truck. ๐Ÿ›ป And of course the local was running late too so I didn’t end up having dinner until 6:45 and I was hungry.

Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am, then a slight chance of showers between 2am and 3am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 39 degrees at 5am. Not as cold. Three degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 21st. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2022, we had light rain in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 39 degrees. The record low of 26 occurred back in 1963.

Still the weekend looks cold and wet. ๐Ÿ˜ž Saturday, showers likely, mainly after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 55. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Sunday, a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Maximum dew point of 47 at 2pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 66 degrees.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Average High is 70 ๐Ÿฎ when the sun will be setting at 8:06 pm with dusk at 8:36 pm. On that day in 2022, we had sunny and temperatures between 77 and 39 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 70 degrees. We hit a record high of 92 back in 1970.

Marsh Edge of Pond

March 26, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Happy Sunday. โ˜บ

Smile, it’s going to be a nice day and not a work day for once. Walked 65.3 miles last week, doing my best to continue that record this week.

Mostly cloudy and 39 degrees in Delmar as I walk down to Norman’s Kills Falls. โ›… There is a southwest breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. A bit chilly and damp this morning but it will improve later on.

I was impressed that I walked 65.3 miles last week and I’m at mile 200 for the month. ๐Ÿšถ It feels good as is quiting processed foods and processed sugars. The worse thing is reducing the pushers that keep trying to push the crap down your throat. Now I finally understand what the DARE program was about, resisting that crap friends and families try to ram down your throat. ๐Ÿ‘ It’s only doughnuts ๐Ÿฉ, what’s wrong with shooting a little heroin, I mean sugar once and a while.

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 53 degrees at 3pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 2nd. West wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 50 degrees.
