Big Red at Powley Place

Hey, for the trip to here from Albany and back, I averaged 19.3 miles per gallon, including spending 22 miles on dirt road, stopping to take pictures, and not taking expressways except for a short section of Thruway between Albany and Schenecady. I was very impressed with Big Red.

The Grunt of Big Red on Tan Hollow Road

Listen to the engine of Big Red on this beautiful summer evening, as I turn onto NY 443. Notice, I wasn't swearing or playing copyrighted music in this clip, so it can have audio. That doesn't happen regularly.

At lunch time I ran to the car wash and gave Big Red a big bath as flakes of rust came off

At lunch time I ran to the car wash and gave Big Red a big bath as flakes of rust came off. I want to get some sand paper and primer on the really rusty sections of the truck in the coming weeks. I keep soaking the really rusty sections with WD-40 oil to hopefully slow the rust, but I think some primer is called for. Frame members aren’t showing rust, it’s just the door sills and wheel wells, which are a problem for a lot of trucks and cars in northeast after 10 winters.

Also stocked up on groceries at Walmart so I will have enough food to make it through the week, including packing lunch and maybe dinner for work on Wednesday and Thursday of this week when I will be working in the office. Also, got my suit dusted off and now I just really need to confirm the bus schedule so I make it into the office on time on Wednesday.
