June 15, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Halfway through the month. July is just around the corner. Next Monday the Average High is 80 ๐Ÿ€ผ. Partly sunny and 51 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜€ Calm wind. The dew point is 45 degrees.

This morning dropping off Big Red before work ๐Ÿš˜ then head home ๐Ÿก and work from home. I double checked to make sure I have my charger ๐Ÿ”Œ for the laptops. Hopefully it will be ready to be picked up this afternoon. I will get a good walk out of this ๐Ÿšถ and hopefully won’t have to worry about the uneven wear any more and the tires will pass inspection in November.

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 77 degrees at 3pm. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 13th. Maximum dew point of 49 at 11am. Light and variable wind. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 1988.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:57 pm with sun having an altitude of 70.7ยฐ from the due south horizon (-0.1ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:53 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (297ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (304ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:36 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 28 seconds with dusk around 9:10 pm, which is 24 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:56 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 69 degrees. The dew point will be 50 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 15 hours and 18 minutes of daytime, an increase of 23 seconds over yesterday.

I expect another busy day at work. ๐Ÿ’ผ After work in the evening I might walk out to Five Rivers ๐Ÿฆ to do some birding – the evening it depends if I have to work late and when I get to pick up my truck.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 49 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 23rd. Light northwest wind. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became light rain by the early hours of the morning. It became somewhat humid as the night progressed. It got down to 63 degrees. The record low of 40 occurred back in 1961.

On this day in 1967, The People’s Republic of China tests its first hydrogen bomb. ๐Ÿ’ฃ It would be one of the world’s few powers with access to the devestatingly powerful hydrogen bombs. Big boom, not available on Ali Express.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 90. Maximum dew point of 64 at 7pm. Sunday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Maximum dew point of 65 at 10am. Typical average high for the weekend is 79 degrees.

It seems like a good weekend to head north. โ›บ It’s disappointing that the road to the Potholers is closed and that Mine Kill pool will be closed but I expect to be busy this weekend so I’ll probably end up in the Speculator area. I still have to decide if I want to bring my kayak or not. Probably leave on Thursday.

As previously noted, next Monday is Average High is 80 ๐Ÿ– when the sun will be setting at 8:37 pm with dusk at 9:11 pm. On that day in 2019, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 80 and 55 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 80 degrees. We hit a record high of 95 back in 1954.

From the blind

June 14, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 62 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a north breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 46 degrees. Not a bad night but still another fully kind of chilly night before the heat wave later in the week.

Today I did some hiking around Holt Preserve, ๐Ÿšถ went out to my folks house ๐Ÿก for Sunday dinner ๐Ÿฒ and did an evening hike up Bennett Hill. Really quiet up there on a Sunday evening. I saw only one person hiking up there the other rest of the time it was quiet. What’s funny is this time of year it actually gets dark earlier at dusk ๐ŸŒ† then in the winter due to the leaves on the trees. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 49 degrees at 4am. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 23rd. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 54 degrees. The record low of 42 occurred back in 1985.

Tonight will have a Waining Crescent ๐ŸŒ˜ Moon with 33% illuminated. The darkest hour is at 12:57 am, followed by dawn at 4:43 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:18 am in the east-northeast (57ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 27 seconds. Sunrise is one second earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:01 am with sun in the east-northeast (64ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 42 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 26 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 75 degrees at 3pm. Three degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 6th. Maximum dew point of 50 at 6pm. Light north wind. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 1988.

Tomorrow I drop off Big Red at the shop to find out why the back tire is wearing so unevenly. ๐Ÿ”ง I’m betting it was that rock I hit back in September 2017 that broke the shock boot but I’m no mechanic. I probably should have done it years ago but I had to have them put it on the lift and find all the stuff that is broken. ๐Ÿ˜•Better to repair than break down in the wilderness. That said, I’m hoping they can just bang or adjust whatever is bent back into alignment. And then rotate the tires.

I’m undecided but I’m thinking about heading up to the Adirondacks for the second half of the week โ›บ to camp and work remotely, assuming my office doesn’t reopen for in person work. It’s going to be hot plus bass season opens on Saturday. ๐ŸŽฃ Haven’t decided if I should bring my kayak – that kind of interferes with the solar panel I need for electricity ๐Ÿ”Œ to power my laptop for work. Not to mention it would be fun to camp the first day of summer.

For the forth of July I was originally thinking about Moose River Plains ๐ŸŽ‡ but maybe I’ll go to the upper part of Powley Road instead. I’d like to see it even though it’s a much longer trip with the road closure. I’m curious to see how much of the road has been rebuilt and how much has changed. The week before then I might go to Schoharie County to try out the pool assuming it opens June 28th as promised. ๐ŸŠ

In four weeks on July 12 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (301ยฐ) at 8:32 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is one minute and 44 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had humid, partly sunny and temperatures between 81 and 69 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 82 and 62 degrees. The record high of 96 degrees was set back in 1935.

Looking ahead,

June 10, 2020 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? Hump Day from the Adirondacks, of course. Two weeks to Latest Sunset ๐ŸŒ†. Filtered sunshine and 62 degrees at the Speculator Village Park. โ›… There is a southeast breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 56 degrees.

So camp is taken down once again ๐ŸŽช and after work today I’ll most likely head home. I’m out of food and ice, well except for some dry goods like peanut butter and jelly, some mustard and eggs. ๐Ÿฎ I dumped out the last cup of so of milk in the milk jug in the cat hole ๐Ÿ’ฉ before breaking camp because otherwise I figured it would go rancid and it already was two days expired. I had to take down camp as my three nights in I e location, as the regulations state, had expired. Plus I don’t think today will be a very good day for solar power. โ˜€

To start out my day, I walked down to the boat dock at Speculator Village Park โ›ฒ with my binoculars to observe birds ๐Ÿฆ and ducks until the first email ๐Ÿ“ง or call ๐Ÿ“ž of the day comes in. I know at eleven o’clock the texting program gets underway and that should keep me busy the bulk of the day besides all the other memos ๐Ÿ“ written, database imports โซ and all other necessary tasks.

Today will be scattered showers between noon and 1pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partlu cloudy โ›… , with a high of 78 degrees at 3pm. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 14th. Maximum dew point of 66 at 5pm. Southeast wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 2008.

I have my bathing suit and beach towel ready ๐ŸŠ should the weather be nice enough and I get a break to swim during lunch or after work. I’m not sure how stormy today will be but I’m sure we might get some large booms from thunder โšก. While I’ve been washing my hands and rinsing out my hair and shaving each day, I could definitely use a good shower ๐Ÿšฟ when I get home as it’s been a week since I’ve had a good scrubbing. Been cool enough up north that I’ve not been swimming.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:58 pm with sun having an altitude of 69.6ยฐ from the due south horizon (-0.4ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.2 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:55 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (296ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the borthwest (304ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:39 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 31 seconds with dusk around 9:13 pm, which is 34 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 10:01 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and thunderstorms ๐ŸŒฉ and temperatures around 71 degrees. The dew point will be 66 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 11 mph with gusts up to 21mph. Today will have 15 hours and 21 minutes of daytime, an increase of 44 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be scattered showers and thunderstorms before 9pm, then a chance of showers between 9pm and 3am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 67 degrees at 1am. 12 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 10pm. South wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. In 2019, we had light rain in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 58 degrees. The record low of 36 occurred back in 1980.

Tomorrow I’ll run to the laundromat ๐Ÿ‘š and continue unpack and get things cleaned up. It’s yet another work day but I can work remotely from my truck while at the laundromat. I’ll also need to get groceries. ๐Ÿฒ I’ll call ๐Ÿ“ž the shop ๐Ÿ”ง about them looking into the wear pattern on the tire, have them rotated and a synthetic oil change. I know the service light isn’t on yet but I always like to do oil changes early to avoid sludge build up. โ›ฝ

On this day in 1964, United States Senate breaks a 75-day filibuster against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, leading to the bill’s passage. ๐Ÿ‘ That was a big change back then and fifty years later I expect even further changes in our country. I’m glad police ๐Ÿšจ reform and defund the police has gotten so much attention – I think it will make a big difference in the future of our country.

Cool but sunny this weekend and at least in Speculator. Saturday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 67. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 49 at 8pm. Sunday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Maximum dew point of 52 at 8pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 77 degrees.

Saturday I’ll probably walk out to Five Rivers ๐Ÿšถ for bird watching ๐Ÿฆ and then Sunday I’ll probably hike at one of the local preserves before going out to mom and dad’s house for Father’s Day. ๐Ÿ‘ช I’ll bring my own fork and knife ๐Ÿด along with plate, and set up the screen tent ๐ŸŽช to help further social distancing. That said it’s at least in New York that pandemic is winding down at least for round 1.

I expect it’s likely that the Capital Region will be in Phase 3 of the reopening ๐Ÿข and I’ll most likely be working downtown next week. Do I have any evidence of that? No. I’m just waiting to see when CDTA reopens. ๐Ÿš I’ll probably be taking the 719 back and forth to work ๐Ÿ’ผ as that bus is rarely crowded, especially the 8:26 downtown.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until the Latest Sunset of the Year ๐ŸŒ† when the sun will be setting at 8:42 pm with dusk at 9:18 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 85 and 56 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 80 degrees. We hit a record high of 96 back in 1943.

 Silence

June 9, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Two weeks to Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ. Cloudy and 60 degrees at Mason Lake. โ˜ There is a west breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 47 degrees. The skies will clear around 6 pm.

I have started to take down camp. โ›บ I could technically stay here another day but I probably won’t especially if I have to go to Speculator to use the Wi-Fi.

Today will have isolated showers. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 75 degrees at 3pm. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 6th. Maximum dew point of 56 at 5pm. West wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 83 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1933.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:58 pm with sun having an altitude of 69.4ยฐ from the due south horizon (-0.4ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:55 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (296ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (304ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:38 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 31 seconds with dusk around 9:13 pm, which is 36 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 10:00 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 69 degrees. The dew point will be 57 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 15 hours and 21 minutes of daytime, an increase of 48 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 53 degrees at 5am. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 5th. Maximum dew point of 57 at 7pm. Calm wind. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 53 degrees. The record low of 36 occurred back in 1975.

On this day in 1972, severe rainfall causes a dam in the Black Hills of South Dakota to burst, ๐Ÿ’ฅ creating a flood that kills 238 people and causes $160 million in damage.๐Ÿ’ฆ

Cool and showers the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, a chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 46 at 6am. Sunday, a chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 50 at 7pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 77 degrees.

Reflecting pool

June 4, 2020 Night

Good evening! Partly cloudy and 64 degrees at the Perkins Clearing. ๐ŸŒƒ There is a southwest breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 55 degrees. A pretty nice evening to be up in the Adirondacks.

It is nice to be up north camping โ›บ but don’t get me wrong, it was still very much so a working day. I might of set up camp at the same end of the day but for most of the day I was actually quite busy. But I plan to work from camp tomorrow and heavierhave a quiet weekend, probably just hiking from camp to fishing and swimming holes. ๐ŸŠ That said by Sunday the high is only going to be around 70 and if I move to a different campsite come Monday highs will only be in the sixties.

It was a long trip north. ๐Ÿš™ Traffic seemed a bit heavier with the lock down ending ๐Ÿ”“ and the fact I left about a half hour later as I didn’t need to get a campsite before work. I’ve been staying up too late lately and tonight is no exception although there is no reason for me to get up early tomorrow morning and even less for Saturday. Yes I have to clock in a nine but I can still be cooking breakfast ๐Ÿณ while I boot the laptop and clock in. All the wires and power is run for the morning, setting up should be a breeze.

With the wind this afternoon ๐Ÿƒ I ended up working from my truck at the Speculator Library. I found it hard to hear client calls ๐Ÿ“ž by the lake and it looks bad if they could hear waves cashing in the background. It wasn’t super hot today and while it was pleasant working down by the lake I wanted to have unrestricted internet so I could watch YouTube in a picture in pictures window while I worked. ๐Ÿ’ป

Believe it or not the bugs ๐Ÿœ are worse now than a two weeks ago over Memorial Day Weekend. Only black flies then but now the horse flies are out as are some mosquitoes. The screen tent ๐ŸŽช helps a lot if I’m careful not to let them in but even after dark the hammock ain’t that great.

That said by 9 pm the worst of the bugs were done ๐Ÿœ and I had a big ol fire around ten once the wind died๐Ÿ”ฅ. Stayed up another two hours, partly next to the fire and partially in the hammock. Too many clouds โ˜ to get a good view of the full moon ๐ŸŒ• or see the land all lit in moonlight.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 57 degrees at 4am. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 15th. Maximum dew point of 57 at 6am. Southwest wind around 5 mph. In 2019, we had light rain in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 55 degrees. The record low of 39 occurred back in 1990.

Tonight will have a Full ๐ŸŒ Moon with 99% illuminated. At 11 PM, the moon was in the south-southeast (158ยฐ) at an altitude of 24ยฐ from the horizon, some 230,582 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by November 26th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Strawberry ๐Ÿ“ Moon is on Friday, June 5. The darkest hour is at 12:57 am, followed by dawn at 4:44 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:19 am in the east-northeast (57ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 29 seconds. Sunrise is 23 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:02 am with sun in the east-northeast (65ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 42 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 5 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a slight chance of showers between 10am and 11am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Partly sunny , with a high of 79 degrees at 3pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 17th. Maximum dew point of 60 at 8am. Southwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 83 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1925.

In four weeks on July 2 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (303ยฐ) at 8:42 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 7 minutes and 49 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 84 and 65 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 82 and 60 degrees. The record high of 98 degrees was set back in 1966.

Middle Lake 3

June 1, 2020 Night

Good evening! First day of June 1st done. Partly cloudy and 57 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ›… There is a north-northwest breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ.

Starting to get a bit chilly out back but I watched some YouTube videos I downloaded today at the library on the laptop ๐Ÿ’ป out back under the very starry skies and moon light. Kind of a nice evening but getting chilly. Saw one or two fireflies earlier but there time now. Also heard an owl. Been out back for almost three hours now.

Busy day at work so I didn’t get much time to work on the blog. ๐Ÿ“ Just a lot of emails and projects to do through the day. I did go for both a morning and a evening walk around the super block today. ๐Ÿšถ Didn’t make it out to Five Rivers today, too busy and it got cloudy out by afternoon.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 48 degrees at 5am. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 20th. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 49 degrees. The record low of 39 occurred back in 1971.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon with 83% illuminated. At 10 PM, the moon was in the south (185ยฐ) at an altitude of 43ยฐ from the horizon, some 226,421 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by November 20th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Strawberry ๐Ÿ“ Moon is on Friday, June 5. The darkest hour is at 12:54 am, followed by dawn at 4:47 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:21 am in the east-northeast (59ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 24 seconds. Sunrise is 28 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:03 am with sun in the east-northeast (65ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 52 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 12 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 71 degrees at 2pm. Three degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around May 22nd. Maximum dew point of 50 at 6pm. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 76 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 1895.

Tomorrow I need to decide on my weekend plans – if I decide to go north โ›บ I have to pack Wednesday and leave by 6:15 am to be ready to go and clock in at Spectulator by nine and get down to work. I’ll probably work at the library Wi-Fi and my phone an set up camp after work at Five. I’ll bring extra clothes and food this time in case I move to another campsite Sunday night and stay up north even longer than planned.

In four weeks on June 29 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (303ยฐ) at 8:37 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 10 minutes and 24 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had hot, humid, mostly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 87 and 70 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 81 and 60 degrees. The record high of 96 degrees was set back in 1944.

Looking ahead, Average High is 80 ๐Ÿ– is in 3 weeks.

May 31, 2020 Night

Good evening! Partly clear and 55 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ŸŒƒ There is a west breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ

It’s a fairly nice evening, I thought ๐Ÿ’ญ it was a good weekend. Saturday I went to Schodack Island and Sunday to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve and Five Rivers. Spent a lot of time looking at the birds ๐Ÿฆ and wildlife. ๐Ÿธ ๐Ÿฐ Even common wildlife is fascinating to observe. ๐Ÿ”Ž It’s so easy to walk by it in the woods and not observe all that is happening. I did see some fireflies ๐Ÿ outside the other night, I’ve not spent as many evenings out back lately as another one of those camping chairs I got from Walmart is falling apart again. I should look for something of better quality.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 43 degrees at 4am. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 3rd. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 49 degrees. The record low of 35 occurred back in 1945.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon with 73% illuminated. At 9 PM, the moon was in the south (182ยฐ) at an altitude of 49ยฐ from the horizon, some 226,344 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by November 19th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Strawberry ๐Ÿ“ Moon is on Friday, June 5. The darkest hour is at 12:54 am, followed by dawn at 4:47 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:22 am in the east-northeast (59ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 23 seconds. Sunrise is 31 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:04 am with sun in the east-northeast (66ยฐ). Tonight will have 8 hours and 53 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 16 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 66 degrees at 3pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around May 5th. Light west wind becoming northwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. That said, it should be a pretty nice day for working outside. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 1918.

I am still thinking about heading up to the Adirondacks on Thursday bright and early โ˜€ before work and spending Thursday and Friday working up north and Saturday and Sunday recreating. Its only three nights camping so I could stay all weekend in that campsite that has the good cellphone ๐Ÿ“ฑ reception ๐Ÿ“ถ for working. I got my fishing license tag in the mail today. ๐ŸŽฃ Now if they check I won’t have to pull it up on my phone.

In four weeks on June 28 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (303ยฐ) at 8:37 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 11 minutes and 15 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had hot, partly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 91 and 60 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 81 and 60 degrees. The record high of 99 degrees was set back in 1901.

Looking ahead, Strawberry Moon ๐Ÿ“ is in 1 week and Fathers Day ๐Ÿ‘จ is in 2 weeks.
