October 4, 2016 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday.Β Cloudy and 56 degrees in North Syracuse. Calm wind. The dew point is 53 degrees. Still kind of socked and clouds and fog — we will see partially clearing skies mid-day, then the skies will become mostly clear around 5 pm. After that we should have clear sailing with temperatures in the low to mid 70s for the rest of the week.

Not a real nice morningΒ but I expect the weather to improve as the day goes on.Β Figuring I have to work today,Β I guess I can’t complain too much about the weather. That said, I can’t wait until my next road trip.Β On a somewhat unrelated topic, IΒ do need to get my car inspected some time this month. I also should think about rotating the tires. That might wait until the next oil change though.

Today will be partly sunny, with a high of 72 degrees at 3pm. Seven degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 55 at 11am. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. The record high of 86 was set in 1891. The sun will set at 6:38 pm with dusk around 7:07 pm, which is 1 minutes and 45 seconds earlier than yesterday. Today will have 11 hours and 32 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low of 51 degrees at 6am.Β Mild but good viewing for the stars. Eight degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 54 at 6pm. Light southeast wind. The record low of 26 occurred back in 1965.

On this day in 1985,Β The Free Software Foundation is founded in Massachusetts, United States.Β It was one of the first groups to write most of the basic code for Linux,Β the widely used operating system, that I continue to use today.

There are 3 weeks until World Pasta Day when the sun will be setting at 6:04 pm with dusk at 6:33 pm. The average high temperature is 56 degrees, with a record high of 77 in 1963. Some ravioli cooked over a campfire would be good for that day sure, especially with the cooler temperatures expected as we head into the second half of October.
