October 29, 2020 Night

Good evening! Heavy rain and 41 degrees in Delmar, NY. β˜” There is a north breeze at 10 mph. πŸƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 7 am. β˜ƒοΈ

Kind of a dreary day. β˜” I worked from home all day and it poured for most of the afternoon into the evening but I guess it’s helping with the rain deficit. Being so wet and with increased threat of snow and ice I’m calling off my weekend plans – even though with work they never were realistic. I would have spent half my weekend shivering in a tent next to the heater and laptop.

Tonight will rain before 3am, then rain and snow. 🌧 Low of 33 degrees at 6am. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around November 13th. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2019, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 57 degrees. The record low of 20 occurred back in 1969.

With the rain this evening, no walk. 🚢🏻I ended up reading some articles about various things on my phone πŸ“± and scrolling through various Wikipedia articles. Kind of a dull but busy day. πŸ’¦ Rain is really pouring on the roof today but it will be snow by morning. Maybe a lot in the mountains?

Tonight will have a Full 🌝 Moon with 97% illuminated. At 9 PM, the moon was in the southeast (126Β°) at an altitude of 37Β° from the horizon, some 251,961 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. πŸš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by May 8th. Sunrise is one minute and 14 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 8:07 am with sun in the east-southeast (115Β°). Tonight will have 13 hours and 35 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 37 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will rain and snow before 1pm, then a slight chance of rain between 1pm and 2pm. 🌧 High of 39 degrees at 3pm. 15 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 6th. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 63 degrees. The record high of 80 was set in 1946. 0.1 inches of snow fell back in 1925.❄

I thought originally it would clear out early tomorrow but hearing all that rain pound down β˜” I’m pulling the plug on the weekend for staying closer to home 🏑 and working from home and then going out to the folks house on Sunday. 🍲

I am leaning towards voting in person on Tuesday now. πŸ—³ I thought about mailing πŸ“¬ my ballot back on Monday just to stick my tongue 😝 out at the system but it silly and it turns out that my polling place has moved across from the bus stop. 🚏I’ll just vote on my way to work or if there is a line drop off my absentee ballot.
