October 28, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Average High is 55 πŸ‚! Much colder than that the next few days. We are looking at a few inches of snow 🌨, the wet sloppy kind the next few days. Next Wednesday is the Day After Election Day 🚿If you haven’t voted by then you’ll have to the start of the Early Vote period in mid June 2021. I wonder if we will be wearing masks when we vote then. 😷 At least the lines shouldn’t be so long for the local Early Vote. ❎ Rain and 41 degrees in Delmar, NY. β˜”Calm wind. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Friday around 6 am. β˜ƒοΈ We might get some snow come Friday morning, but I think it will be more of a nuisance snow, more glob then anything else.

I decided to catch the bus 🚍 downtown and work in the office 🏒 today. It didn’t seem like a really good day to be working down at the library parking lot πŸ“š and my apartment is cold and damp as I’ve not turned on the heat. Plus I expect with the clouds and dark skies, the under voltage relay would tripping ⚑ on the load of the laptop. Plus I’m thinking πŸ’ it best to get in the habit of going to work because I expect soon I’ll be working downtown full time again.

In 1956, Elvis Presley receives a polio vaccination on national TV. πŸ’‰This single event is credited with raising immunization levels in the United States from 0.6% to over 80% in just six months. The polio virus was scary but science helped combat it. πŸ€“ There is still some hope for mankind. Hopefully the national nightmare will be over in six months as the orange man packs πŸ“¦ up his bags.

Sunny and cold this weekend. 🌞 Saturday, sunny, with a high near 45. Sunday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Typical average high for the weekend is 54 degrees. I am still chewing over my weekend plans – but a lot depends on how much snow they get in Brookfield this week and how early the storm pulls out. It does lookΒ  nice, but who knows, and I’ll probably be quite busy with work.

As previously noted, next Wednesday is Day After Election Day πŸ›€ when the sun will be setting at 4:44 pm with dusk at 5:13 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2019, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 51 and 29 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 53 degrees. We hit a record high of 76 back in 1994.
