November 5, 2015 morning
Statistically November is the most gray month of the year in Albany. Clouds dominate the sky in the month more than any other month. Today does nothing to sway the average with clouds putting a deep dark shadow over the mostly gray skies.
That said for November it’s a relatively warm 54 degrees at 9 AM. 71 degrees at 2:30 PM with clearing. Another warm evening on tap with temperatures bottoming out around 55 degrees. We often have evening in late May and June when it’s colder then that. Transit of the sun at 11:38 AM and sunset at 4:43 PM. Weather gets colder for the weekend.
Still chewing over the weekend plans, as I have several competing ideas on what to do. I want to do some hiking, hunting, and spending at least one night in the woods. If I go to Vermont, I would most likely cross hunting off the list. I might leave Friday night but at this point after rush hour, because regardless of when I leave I will be setting up after dark. I also want to test out my Mr. Heater Big Buddy Propane Space Heater. I still need to buy a 20 lb propane tank to hook up to it. I will either do that tonight or tomorrow.
I haven’t driven since Saturday morning,Β but tonight I need to get to the laundromat and the store. Hopefully I will have enough battery charge, because lately I’ve been mostly taking shorter trips with the headlights on and the alternator has been struggling to keep up for the power demand and keep the battery topped off. It will be fine once I get out for a long drive, as the batteries are almost new. Maybe I need to think about getting a larger alternator, or stop driving two mile trips with the headlights on every 3 or 4 days in the cold. The damn headlights come on every-time you unlock the door to find something in the truck. It’s tough as it’s always dark when I’m not working these days, and I live in the suburbs on a transit line, so except for road trips I only driving my truck occasionally.
