November 3, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Daylight Savings Time Ends πŸ›₯️! I hope you remembered to set your clock back one hour. It’s a little after 8:30 AM now. Next Sunday is Average High is 50 πŸ‚. Partly cloudy and 33 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… Calm wind.Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 1 am. β˜ƒοΈ

I think I’m feeling better today after spending most of the day in bed yesterday. 😷 I think I just needed to give myself a day to recover from the cold. Between my cheap moldy apartment and my basement office and just the cold weather it’s not difficult to get sick. Plus lately it’s been run, run run. πŸƒI needed a day to recover and now I’m on the excerise bike as I write this post. 🚲

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 48 degrees at 12pm. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 15th. Light and variable wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 57 degrees. The record high of 75 was set in 1990. 0.9 inches of snow fell back in 1951.❄

In a little bit I’m going to take a shower 🚿 and then run to Tractor Supply 🚜 and Walmart πŸ‘ to get propane and supplies. Nice bright πŸ”† morning but it helps we set the clock back one hour. πŸ•’

Later on today I’m thinking about heading up Bennett Hill. 🚢 It’s always a nice little hike and it’s on the way to my parents house which is all the more important with the sun setting so early. πŸ—»

The sun will set at 4:46 pm with dusk around 5:15 pm, which is one minute and 16 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for partly clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 46 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 14 minutes of daytime, an decrease of 2 minutes and 31 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear πŸŒƒ, with a low of 30 degrees at 6am. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around November 21st. West wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. In 2018, we had light rain in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 36 degrees. The record low of 17 occurred back in 1951.

I see that the NY GOP 🐘 is targeting me🎯 in their election ads. Good for them, I did vote for Deborah Busch for County Cornor. I think Republican control of the county coroner’s office would be a good check β˜‘ on the Democratic District Attorney. Plus she can cause less trouble in the coroner’s office than the legislature. Most county coroner’s are just funeral parlor owners trolling for business from relatives of the dead. 🎣 πŸ‘ΊRather than buying Facebook ads, you think that the GOP would at least circulate petitions for at least a few compentent candidates rather than leave 80% of the ballot blank. I guess if you know your going to loose, you might as well just waste your money on Facebook ads. πŸ’΅

Fixed the leak on the drain pipe on the sink with duck tape. β• I thought about calling the landlord or even fixing it myself – it’s just a rusted clamp but duck tape is easier and I don’t want to remind the landlord of all the damage I’ve done to his building over the past twelve years. If it gives me more problems I’ll reevaluate. I’m a dirty hick and I drag in a lot of mud. 🐽

It looks like the weather is moderating for next weekend, the long Veterans Day Weekend. β›Ί Assuming there is not a shit ton of snow β›„, actually none at all I want to camp at Stoney Pond although depending on the time and weather I could settle for Brookfield. I think Piseco-Powley Road is done for the year with Lake Effect season well underway. Probably camp on NY 8 and East Branch come Black Friday after doing some hiking.

As previously noted, next Sunday is Average High is 50 πŸ‚ when the sun will be setting at 4:38 pm with dusk at 5:08 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 42 and 35 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 50 degrees. We hit a record high of 72 back in 1931.

Only a few hints of Fall
