May 29, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Next Tuesday is the first 8:30 PM Sunset of the year ️⛱️. Something that only lasts for like three weeks or so I’m told. I guess I have to go to Western New York if I like late sunsets. They’ve switched to the summer bus drivers. I better watch the time more carefully because the new one is a bit more timely it seems. Plus I think they are finally wrapping up the last section of “Dig We Must for a Better New York” on Delaware Avenue although sections they paved in 2008 are already falling into a potholed mess.

This morning is Partly cloudy and 69 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… Calm wind. The dew point is 64 degrees. It’s the most humid weather of the summer so far and the bus driver doesn’t have the air conditioning on yet. 🐸It’s a fairly new bus so it works but if they don’t turn it on it will have trouble keeping up when the heat climbs with the muggers.

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞 , with a high of 85 degrees at 3pm. 12 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 66 at 9am. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had rain and mist in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 61 degrees. The record high of 93 was set in 1931. Not record breaking heat but still pretty warm for late May. But duck, Friday is June.

I’m supposed to have that big report, actually two of them on the bosses desk on Friday which is the end of the month or June or something like that so I expect some late nights in the office.📄 After tonight I will probably go over Reszin’s house and fold Save the Pine Bush newsletters, which will hopefully become a smaller task once they transition to electronic newsletters. 📬SPB is forty years old, so they still do a lot on paper.

The sun will set at 8:24 pm with dusk around 8:58 pm, which is 50 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly clear skies and 76 degrees. The dew point will be 52 degrees. There will be a north-northeast breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 3 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 24 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear 🌞 , with a low of 58 degrees at 5am. Six degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 53 at 6pm. North wind 3 to 8 mph. In 2017, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 56 degrees. The record low of 33 occurred back in 1967.

The bus is running a bit early so the driver had to wait a bit. 🚌But I can’t wait to get to work because it’s kind of hot on the bus. And there is much to get done. I mean it was fun leaving work at three on Friday to get up to the Green Mountain National Forest and start drinking earlier 🍺 but it certainly did not enhance my productivity. But I do work plenty of long hours for a better tomorrow.

All and all it wasn’t a bad long weekend. I’m thinking of taking off a Friday in June to make another long weekend, but only if it’s really hot and sunny. Maybe visit the Potholers 🏊and go for a paddle and fish in the Mohawk River after exploring the spring wild flowers on Moss Island. Those carp I scared with my kayak in the river were massive. 🐟

As previously noted, next Tuesday is 8:30 PM Sunset ️⛱️ when the sun will be setting at 8:29 pm with dusk at 9:04 pm. On that day in 2017, we had thunderstorm, thunderstorm rain, rain, mist, cloudy skies and temperatures between 66 and 55 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 75 degrees. We hit a record high of 97 back in 1925.
