May 11, 2017 Morning

Good morning! Happy Twilight Zone Day. Three weeks to June 1st. Mostly sunny and 39 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind.

Today will be mostly sunny, with a high of 63 degrees at 4pm. Five degrees below normal. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Cool but blue skies so hard to complain.  A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies and a high of 75 degrees. The record high of 90 was set in 1911. 0.5 inches of snow fell back in 1907. I am too young to remember either of these record breaking days despite my increasing gray hair.

The sun will set at 8:07 pm with dusk around 8:39 pm, which is one minute and 5 seconds later than yesterday. At sunset, look for partly cloudy conditions and 58 degrees. There will be a east-northeast breeze at 5 mph. Good weather for sitting out, watching the moon rise.  Today will have 14 hours and 31 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 12 seconds over yesterday. Nice long day, perfect for enjoying the twilight on this Twilight Zone Day down at the park.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 46 degrees at 5am. Typical for tonight. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph. In 2016, it got down to 43 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. The record low of 29 occurred back in 1969.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until June 1st when the sun will be setting at 8:27 pm with dusk at 9:01 pm. On that day in 2016, we had mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 85 and 57 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 74 degrees. We hit a record high of 94 back in 1918.

I bought oil last night and the whole wheat waffles I made came out pretty good. I’m happy with the results, they taste good. Forget to get more frozen fruits but I am hoping the farmers market will have them.

Have a great day! Enjoy the beautiful weather.
