May 1, 2021 Morning

Good morning! Happy May Day 2021 🕊 ! All the socialists of the world will rejoice. 🌹 As will black flies. 🐜 Is there much of a difference? I’m getting brainwashed from work. Five weeks to 8:30 PM Sunset ️⛱️ . Summer is coming. Or so we tell ourselves, and our nation is plunged towards summer every day. Can’t stop the rotation of earth around the sun. Overcast and 39 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ Breezy, ️16 mph breeze from the northwest 🌬 with gusts up to 29 mph 💨💨💨. The skies will clear around 9 am.

A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 61 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 2001. There was a dusting of snow in 1978.❄

Not sure what my plans are for the day, but I do want to shower 🛀 and then go out somewhere. 🚶‍♀️ I am really running low on supplies so I should think about going shopping. 👜 Now I just need to remember to bring my muzzle 😷 should I want to run into the store, as I’m not always wearing a bandana when I’m outside, because I am fully vaccinated. 💉 Didn’t have a mask when I went for my evening walk, which is why I am drinking black coffee ☕ this morning as I’m out of milk. 🐮

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 62.6° from the due south horizon (-8.3° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 3.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour 🏅 starts at 7:17 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (285°). 📸

A few years ago, but then again we can certainly have 90 degree days in May. I remember a few years back when we had a real baking Memorial Day Weekend and I was up in the Green Mountain Forest, shooting guns, drinking beer and lighting off fireworks. 🎆 Fun times.
