March 22, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 32 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a east-northeast breeze at 5 mph. πŸƒ. Kind of a cold evening for late March. All day wasn’t that warm for sure. Tomorrow going to snow but no real accumulation in the valley – too warm. Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 9 am. 🌑️

So it was a good weekend. Didn’t get out to see my parents but I enjoyed some fresh air, πŸƒ spent some time hiking and exploring local preserves. Did what needed to get done, I’m glad I got the recycling taken care of, the truck repacked for camping and ready for the season to come. πŸ”Œ Got my laptop car charger plug replaced, picked up the stuff I needed from the office, got groceries and did my laundry.

I am feeling a lot better today, the cold and sore throat faded away. It may have been just stress and allergies but I was very worried 😯 most of last week of catching Coronavirus. Truth be told, I don’t expect any social contact this week besides maybe passing somebody on the trail more than six feet away if at all possible. Dog bite wasn’t fun but it was a non event, except for the ripped jeans. I don’t think the owners even knew the dog bit me but it was cold walking back.

Wish I had hiked a little further though and stayed out until dusk but I was running low on dry trails to explore. πŸ‘’ My every day work boots after six months of daily use are getting worn out, I really got to think about ordering more this week.

Tonight will have increasing clouds ☁, with a low of 30 degrees at 4am. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 27th. East wind 5 to 9 mph becoming south after midnight. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 28 degrees. The record low of -4 occurred back in 1875.

Tonight will have a New 🌚 Moon. The Pink 🌸 Moon is on Monday, April 6. Pinkster festival – that’s one that’s come and gone in Albany but for decades it was a tradition. The darkest hour is at 1:03 am, followed by dawn at 6:27 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:55 am in the east (88Β°) and last for 2 minutes and 54 seconds. Tonight will have 11 hours and 41 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will snow before 3pm, then rain and snow. 🌧 High of 38 degrees at 5pm. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 29th. Southeast wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible. Tomorrow I will actually work from home, but Tuesday it will be back to working in the truck using the wifi at the library and Five Rivers. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 37 degrees. The record high of 80 was set in 1938. 2.7 inches of snow fell back in 2005.❄ Winter is kind of winding down as the snow records show.

In 2019 on that day, we had mostly sunny skies, warm weather, with a few rain showers and temperatures between 77 and 55 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 60 and 39 degrees. The record high of 92 degrees was set back in 1976.
