March 20, 2018 Morning
Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Today is the First Day of Spring 🐣. Chilly start to spring. At least it’s sunny. Four weeks to Tax Day 💰. That’s the day I pay three quarters of my federal refund to the state to cover state taxes on my unrealized dividends. Sunny and 13 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌞 Calm wind. Things will start to thaw out at around 1 pm. 🌡οΈ
🌹🌻🌼Happy calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼
The first day of spring will be sunny and cold 🌞 , with a high of 36 degrees at 3pm. 10 degrees below normal. North wind 3 to 7 mph. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies. The high last year was 49 degrees. The record high of 78 was set in 2012. 7 inches of snow fell back in 1944.β
The sun will set at 7:08 pm with dusk around 7:36 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies β and 32 degrees. There will be a north breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 11 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy β, with a low of 21 degrees at 6am. Six degrees below normal. North wind around 8 mph. In 2017, we had mostly clear skies with more clouds in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 32 degrees. The record low of -1 occurred back in 1956.
I have a nine o’clock meeting this morning, so I am catching a much earlier bus then normal to work. 🚌A lot of state workers head in earlier so this bus is much more popular. 👷👮👨👩Busy day scheduled for my work, so I had a big pan of eggs and also packed dinner in case it’s a late night. I’m sure I’ll be home though well before the last 11:30 bus leaves the station. Still haven’t decided if I will install Uber or Lyft on my phone for those all night sessions come next week, or drive in or just take a nap in my new office until the first bus heads out to the suburbs in the morning. Ride sharing is expensive🚕 but it’s still a hell of a lot cheaper than getting in a wreck. 💥
I’m glad that spring is finally rolling around and there is at least hope for nicer weather. 😎 I just get tired of spending all my time in the city and I want the fresh air you get with the windows open in the apartment and drinking beer out back on my tailgate.🍺 Not to mention camping in the wilderness.βΊ And big fires. 🔥But I’m sure sooner than later those days will return.
Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until I pay the state the big bucks on Tax Day 💰 when the sun will be setting at 7:40 pm with dusk at 8:09 pm. The government may be greedy but at least they’re giving us extra sunshine in the evening down at the park for reading after work.📚 On that day in 2017, we had rain, partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 66 and 46 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 59 degrees. That means many days will be in the sixties. We hit a record high of 91 back in 2002.
