June 20, 2016 Night
Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 81 degrees in Coeymans. There is a south breeze at 12 mph. The dew point is a somewhat sticky 60.
Fishing was okay on Lawson Lake but I didn’t catch anything. But the fresh air and cool breezes were nice. The clouds kind of are blocking the stars. Nice having my evenings back after work. Tomorrow I will bring a book down to the park to read. I could bring my laptop but I think reading a book teaches me more and makes me waste less time.
Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Five degrees above normal. South wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. The record low of 41 occurred back in 1970.
Tonight is June Strawberry Moon. Unless you wear rose colored glasses it won’t appear red but this is the time of year to enjoy fresh strawberries at farmers markets. July’s Buck Moon is on Tuesday, July 19th. By then, bucks should have plenty of velvet.
Tomorrow the sun will rise at 5:18 am with the first light at 4:43 am, which is 15 seconds later then today.
Tomorrow will be mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Two degrees below normal. Especially with the wind, it will feel significantly cooler than today. West wind 10 to 13 mph. Wednesday is expected to reach only 74 degrees with continued sunny skies.
Looking ahead, Independence Day is in 2 weeks, First Day of August is in 6 weeks, Labor Day is in 11 weeks, Columbus Day is in 16 weeks and Halloween is in 19 weeks. Time sure goes by quickly.
