I wear blaze orange a lot…
I think a lot of people worry about getting shot in the woods in October or November although I think that fear is overblown and you shouldn’t be afraid of the woods or hunters out there just trying to harvest their deer. Give them their due so you don’t spook their deer or turkey but don’t be afraid.
But wearing blaze orange is a good idea even if your boy hunting. I can tell you when I’m hunting blaze orange sticks out well to the human eye even if it is largely invisible to other animals falling in the same desaturated color of the sky. Getting shot is bad enough with bones and muscles broken but a lifetime of lead poisoning can be pretty horrifying.
Blaze orange is also safer to wear while walking along a road or highway making yourself much more visible to passing cars and other vehicles. If you fall or are injured, wearing blaze orange also makes it easier for emergency help to find and rescue you.
There are so many options for bright colored blaze orange closes. Unless you are in a stand turkey hunting, or maybe bow hunting, I suggest you wear blaze orange.
