Healthier, one step at a time π£
In the past seven day walked 65.3 miles, which includes 12.3 today and 11.6 miles yesterday. 201 miles walked since March 1, 2023. My next step is to practice walking with a loaded pack on my back but I’m waiting until the days are warmer and brighter out.
In the past three weeks I’ve also cut most processed foods and sugar out of my diet, although I am slowly using up some remaining unhealthy things in my pantry like pancake mix and pasta sauce. I’m not throwing it out but once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. I long ago cut out alcohol and sweets, especially at home.
Been learning how to say no and be firm when people offer me junk food. Also been learning how to cook more, especially brown rice dishes, lentils and beans. And things like salmon and tofu. I want to eat more rabbit but it’s hard to find affordably in America unless you raise, hunt and butcher them yourself.
I try to buy and eat 30 lb of fruits and vegetables a week. I’m not dieting, I’m eating healthy. No way in hell am I going to be ducking hungry.
