Good Morning – November 15, 2021

Good morning! It’s the second half of November on this Monday morning. πŸ¦ƒ

Oh Monday morning, you gave me no warning of what was to be. Monday, Monday. National Recycling Day, for those who celebrate.

Cloudy and 38 degrees in Delmar, NY. β˜” There is a south-southwest breeze at 5 mph. πŸƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing around 1 am. β˜ƒοΈ

As they say, it must come around the guitar. 🎸 We were just waiting for it, as Arlo Guthrie would say about driving garbage around Stockbridge, Massachusetts in Alice’s Restaurant. I am fully aware that my music collection is about fifty years out of date, but so is everything these days.

Kind of cloudy and damp morning, πŸ’¦ although the rain stopped earlier in the evening. My apartment is fairly warm as I’ve had the heat turned on since returning from vacation, and it works fairly well except when it’s cold out. I patched some of the air leaks in my apartment, and I’m willing now to just sit out the winter.

Coming home from camping I noticed that my kitchen and bathroom are kind of musty πŸ‘ƒ so I’ve been working on scrubbing things down with bleach and ammonium, well the later until I ran out. I need to go to store and pick up more floor cleaner and other supplies this evening. I am pretty low on food and supplies after vacation. 🍲

I am ready to move forward on the winter mode of doing things, 🌨 with fewer trips planned and more weekends spent at home. But I am busier with work this time of year, and I will have to figure out other projects of interest to pass the time over the winter. ♻️ I’ve started separating out and cleaning the plastic bottles for recycling, so I can take them to the transfer station.

Yesterday I went out to Five Rivers Environmental Education Center πŸ‚. The leaves were mostly done and it’s cool enough there was less wildlife out and about 🐿 than earlier in the autumn. Squrriels are moving a lot slower and less now that the nut harvest is done. πŸ₯œ Kind of like the farmers and the silage. 🌽

Things are unpacked and mostly put away from vacation. 🏑 That said, I usually leave a lot of the camping gear in the truck because it’s not that much weight and I don’t do that much traveling by auto except for camping. I am hoping to get out of town the weekend after Thanksgiving, probably to the Adirondacks. πŸ—»

Been reading up on tmap πŸ—Ί r library, which is designed to simplify the making of thematic maps in R. There is so many neat things you can do in R with a few lines of code, the R libraries and piping mechanism set up with dplyr is very powerful. πŸ–₯
