Good morning! Happy Thursday.
I am glad this five-day work week is coming to a close quickly, because who likes to be in the office. You know, I’d much rather be up in the woods drinking beer, floating on the tube, burning shit. Not that I’m the kind of drinker I once was since I got into eating healthy. And heck my sunburnt back is healing now.
Oh, did I do good at the Farmer’s Market at the Empire Plaza, ππ₯ $18 bucks later with delicious cherries, mushrooms, green beans, and zucchini. You got it, fried zucchini was dinner. Of course, now I’m running low on olive oil and bananas but I can get that Hannaford this evening. Only did that small $30 grocery stock up on Monday after work on my bike β and with the farmers market stuff I’m pretty good. I could stop on the ride home or maybe I’ll go either out to Voorheesville Hannaford or back to Elsmere and explore the Normans Kill Preserve — first time I’ve been there in a year. Would be tempting to get ice cream while I’m out that way at Tastee-Freeze. That said ,I don’t eat ice cream the way I once did. You can play back that statement come summer vacation.
In many ways I’ve made peace with walking away from that homestead I thought about buying. One can always have regrets about paths not taken, but I don’t know if I was ever serious about it. Good price for the right person or couple who wants to fix up a house out in the country and have some livestock. But I want to travel and still be free to do things while I’m young — and not be stuck with a property when I decide eventually some day to move out of state.
The long weekend next weekend looks warm and sunny. Not sure yet if I’m heading back to Piseco-Powley or the Vermont, although I’m inclined to say Piseco-Powley and just spending the last weekend of the four day-weekend camping somewhere else, maybe hammock camping on Lily Lake, or I could head up to Spectulator. Or maybe somewhere Ive not camped in Ferris Lake Wild Forest like Jerseyfield Lak Road. Forecast could certianly change before then.
