February 22, 2016 Evening
Good afternoon! Currently 35 degrees and mostly cloudy with a 16 mph west wind. The wind chill value is currently 25. That wind really makes it feel cold, even though the mercury is above freezing.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 19. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening. Tonight will have 13 hours and 3 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 48 seconds over last night.
Tonight is February’s Full Snow Moon. The Last Quarter Moon is on March 1st and the New Moon is on March 9th.
Tuesday will be partly sunny, with a high near 42. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Fairly mild, but Wednesday is when the roads will get sloppy.
Looking ahead to the weekend, we have seasonally cold but sunny weather. Saturday will be partly sunny, with a high near 38. Saturday Night will have a chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Sunday will be partly sunny, with a high near 34. Sunday Night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.
Traffic seems to be moving well tonight on the 787. Some traffic but we have the fast bus driver who bullies her way through traffic. I’m not complaining.
Albany County Young Democrats meeting tonight. It’s only my second meeting I’ve been to in recent years but it’s fun to get involved in politics once again, especially with the presidential election coming up. Always kind of interesting to learn more about our governmental leaders and the process they use to get elected.
While the sum will have set by the time you read this post, right now as I type this post the sky is full of color. The days are rapidly growing longer. I can not complain about that. It’s not pitch black when I get home most nights now. Three weeks and it’s Daylight Savings Time and the sun will set after 7 pm.
I hope your Monday is going well. Have a great evening!
