Hardwick is a town in Caledonia County, Vermont, United States. The population was 3,010 at the 2010 census. It contains the incorporated village of Hardwick and the unincorporated villages of East Hardwick and Mackville. The town is a commercial center for the region's farming population
The first couple of days when I camped I was a ways from a narrow tributary of the Deerfield River that had all but dried up when I was there.

Looking North towards Stratton Mountain. Didn't put it, not because the waves -- although that would be a consideration -- but because a lack of a time. There where a lot of boaters, including kayakers out on the water. This vast hydroelectric reservoir is a very popular place to paddle around in and fish.

This is a very marshy and open place, near where the Deerfield River comes closer to Forest Road 70.
