Mufflers

They should ban mufflers on all cars.Β They are a kind of suppressor, which reduces the noice cars make. Not being able to hear a car coming puts all pedestrians at risk, especially those with partial blindness. If cars had open pipes, you would be able to hear a car a long distance away, especially when they are accelerating hard, making life in cities much safer.

Are You Ready for Self-Driving Cars?

Self-driving cars would be nice on long trips on the expressway, and in the city, but I'd sure want to still be able to drive on the backroads, and to places that might not be on the GPS maps.

Sales of Big S.U.V.s Pulling the Weight at General Motors

General Motors introduced a few years back, a small compact known as the Chevrolet Corvair with an innovative rear-engine design to compete with the small European cars that were growing in popularity. We know how that went.

In contrast, their big cars, like the Chevy Impala and the Oldsmobile 88s continued to be success, and were known for their high-quality.

I think the domestic automakers should focus on larger cars, and leave the smaller ones up to the cheap imports, which serve a certain marketplace. Then focus on reducing automobile use in urban areas, to reduce emissions and global warming gases.
